To those who are curious, "Mearcstapa" is an Old English word from the story of Beowulf. It doesn't have a modern English equivalent, but means "one who wanders about the desolate mark or border-land." Which was a description of the monster Grendel.

Damn! Blown away by this. A friend gave me the first Fleet Foxes album and I didn't like it. But this new stuff is sophisticated, smart, and I even hear elements of a top notch jam band in this performance. I will definitely give them another look now.
