Building the Ultimate Ergonomic Keyboard: Introducing the LHM Morph 32

- I built another keyboard. A better one. Actually what I am about to show you is not really a keyboard, it is more than that. Shure, it can be used as a keyboard but at its core, it is a modular platform that allows you to choose the best setup for your keys based on your hands anatomy.

This modular design is fantastic! Love to see more designers building keyboards with mechanical adjustable platforms.❤
Fantastic platform. Seen a few of this style online, but you’re the first to make it available for others to try out, thanks. Very interesting insight that left and right hand had different preferences for comfort. Looking forward to see how this develops.
Just found your channel, I love the modularity and potential expansion this system provides!
You are an inspiration. Keep doing your thing, and your channel will grow.
Gosh. It’s really tempting to build one!
This is a fantastic design combining a couple simple positioning systems gives it the ability to adjust to the hand with precision. It reminds me of the fractal vise with extra dimensions and a different use case.
That's super cool, I'm still getting used to my Charybdis, but I can see a lot of cool projects coming out of this!
Thank you! Charybdis looks very cool. The integrated trackball seems like a great feature.
Customizable and super adjustable! Awesome design. Great job!
Thank you so much 🙏🏽. I am glad you like it 😃. Working on the casing right now. Excited to show you guys how the finished keyboard will look 🤓.
Congrats on this great work, especially creating a platform is always a great achievement.
Thank you 😊!
Wow, this is awesome cos it is more aligned with the body's more natural/comfy position.... Thumbs up!
Excellent, how your channel has grown since I first came across you. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much ☺️!
Such an interesting and versatile keyboard
amazing design!
this is great. i wish the modules were 3 keys at least, instead of two, but I love your passion and enthusaism and creativity.
Thanks for open-sourcing! 🎈
Always 😋! And thank you for the Super Thanks ❤️.
Now this is the kinda stuff I wanna see! Also wouldn't mind seeing a start to finish build!
Thank you so much Kage for your feedback. I will think about making a longer video that will include the whole build process.
Very curious to test that thing!
You’re a genius and exactly what I was looking for
Thank you 😊! If you build something with it please let us know! You can comment with a link if you make a remix on thingieverse. Or even some photos. Have fun with it!
@@LifeHackerMax Sure thing! Will do
Great content, great idea! I'd download models but I hear it's addictive 😉
I've wanted to make this with columns of 3 since 2018. I think it's finally time. Thank you for the inspiration. ☮️❤️🌈
You are most welcome. Thank you for your comment and good luck on your project 👍🏼😃 🍀.
You might just have inspired me to do this myself :D
Thank you for saying this! You should check out the final result if you haven’t yet: Building a Handmade Chair Keyboard - LHM 32 Split Keyboard

If you get something done please send me a picture 😃. I would love to see it. lifehackermax@gmail.com
Good luck 🍀!
super cool. While I assume you went for two keys per row as a choice, add a second 2 key element per column and you have a fully adjustable dactyl...
Amazing in it’s simplicity! I wonder, will there be a version with three buttons per finger instead of two?
Thank you! I made the project open source so anyone can improve it adding something new to it. I made it with 2 buttons to be able to build my keyboard but modifying the key module to include 3 buttons should not be an issue if there is an application for it. Btw: you can install 2 key modules in one slider to get 4 buttons in a line 😉.
@@LifeHackerMax great, thanks!
i really like the dieas of havigng the keys at adjustable angles and adjustable depth. because like ou were saying people hand come in different shapes and sizes level the persons left and right hands are different. the only thing i would find cool is the ability to move each key independently and somehow figure out a height adjustment option
Thank you! The way I designed the platform doesn’t allow for more flexibility; too many variables. One thing that could be improved and others asked for would be a 3 key module. I will try to make that. I will upload a new video soon with the keyboard that emerged from the Morph. I hope you guys will find it interesting 😃.
@@LifeHackerMax im sure i will. your video today got me going down quite the rabbit hole of ideas and thinking how in the world i could execute them. then i got thinking about thumb clusters using smaller button like a with the razer naga mouse. could bet allot of layer keys throw in a normal key 90 degrees off for a space key. i now think height adjustment would be very hard to execute and have locked in= once you find the height you like so probably just different angled key caps would be the better option there. so i do think your right that limiting the variable to what you have is probably a good choice. one other thing i really l admire about your design is the ability to adjust the the angle between the finger keys plan and the thumb button plane. i wouldn't have thought to do it .
fucking genius
Somehow I feel the urge to let ChatGPT implement a visual KI to analyse the keyboard layout you have customized and fine tuned with your "platform" to generate parameters for a yet to be build paramtric 3D model. Which of course will be build by the sucessor of OpenAI whose merest operational
parameters it's am not worthy to calculate ... wait ... have we been there already?
ez sub
Was gonna avoid this video but because it's a small channel I clicked, gotta say the thumbnail is done very well
I have to ask why the 1960's easy bake oven color? ;)
🤣 I like the color and it was the only filament I had at the time. Anyway, after I will finish the keyboard everything will be covered up. What color would you chose?
@LifeHackerMax black or beige. With the "big 3" layout like the Monterey K104. Nobody has made a big 3 since 1995 thanks to Microsoft's WinKeys. Backslash got moved from between right alt and ctrl then to make room the left end of backspace, left end of right shift, or upper end of enter gets taken off for backslash. My first PC keyboard had this style and I use the areas of all three keys variously sacrificed to WinKeys.
The K104 has an unused key between left ctrl and alt. Make that the Winlogo key. If a menu key must exist cut a bit off the right end of the spacebar. An FK9000 is a wonderful "battleship" keyboard. It's a big 3 variation where backslash takes a piece off the right end of right shift, having been displaced by the prog key for the 12 programmable function keys on the left end where PC/XT boards had them. For an FK9000 clone I'd put backslash where it belongs and put prog by itself out of the layout. It has a do nothing key like the K104 so the same WinKeys solution would work. Everything else would remain, including the 8 way cursor keys and the numpad calculator. Its display could be improved (someone already makes a kit) and I'd add the feature the original missed, the ability to send the numbers from the calculator display to the computer.
dude its incredible please sell it
Thank you! I am giving it for free actually 😃. There are links in the description for the firmware and 3d files for anyone to build as a DIY project .
First keyboard project that actually looks useful. Could you next time please NOT speed up the footage when showing how it moves? I could barely see sh*t. Thanks!
Thank you! It doesn’t actually move. It is adjustable, unscrew, adjust and screw back on. I will try adding some real time adjustment footage in my next video.
Thank you for the feedback. It is very helpful. 🙏🏽
@@LifeHackerMax Thank *You* for taking time to respond to my nagging comments. Subbed for more content! 😎

I think it shows the adjustments a bit better.
