Watching Arcus play these old NES titles is like watching Randy Rhoads play guitar! The timing and the absolute talent on display here. This is a talent, to have such great hand and eye dexterity. The moves you make in these games are memorized, timed and played masterfully like. As a musician, this is how I relate what I see on the screen. I find it relaxing watching him play these old games I struggled with through my child hood in the 80's. He makes them seem like they are easy games, which most of them are not. Very hard games. It takes true skill to do something hard and make it look easy.
The 2014 one developed by Double Helix was really solid. Cool mix of gameplay from Arcade Strider and Strider 2 with the Metroidvania elements from NES Strider.
I remember I got stuck on this game as a kid. I literally hit a wall. Didn't know I can bounce off walls. When I discovered that ability, my mind was completely blown.
Can someone please explain to me what zipless means? I used to play this as a kid, could make it to where Kain attacks you but not much further. Found this game to be very confusing as a kid, apparently I wasn't alone in that based on the comments here 😂
Yeah, I couldn't beat this game as a kid either. It was fun to play but I couldn't advance too far. I had a few codes from Nintendo Power or something similar so I could start near the end and check everything out. Nice to see somebody beat it though.
This Game looked soooo cool when it was being hyped. Then, I finally got it, and got to play it. Le Fookin Sigh. Genesis version was just as convoluted, with better graphics.
