Everyone is freaking out about the no-tone knob. When you roll off the volume (to get a more cleaner and more tame sound) you also roll off some of the highs as well. Before the age of three channel amps and pedal boards with 5 overdrives, you would play with the volume knob rolled back for clean and then turn the volume up all the way to hit the front of the amp and get it to overdrive.
I installed a Slick Fullerton Lead (bridge) pickup with a couple other GFS pickups (AlNiCo II and then a Surf 90) and found that, despite following the wiring instructions for each pickup, the Slick is out of phase with respect to the GFS line. Installer beware! That written, it was a simple matter of reversing the wiring on the bridge pickup and everything is golden. The Fullerton Lead pickup is a great sounding pickup!
I got mine! You better get yours! It was hard to find a flaw on my specific specimen. After a little personal setup it played great acoustically. Plugged in it performed like a champ🏆
I can hear the Super coming under that gorgeous pickup pair - warm as a party pie from the oven. You nailed it, man. Love your guitar music, always add so much LIFE to a song, and nobody sounds like you. It's like a bear hug from a substation on the grid.
recently discovered these. it's like a dirty tele. I love the single volume know. really want several of the slick guitars. the bass also. tones are controlled by where you play.
I have 2 Slick strats. I liked everything on them except the necks. They worked great but they were too thin for my taste. I put after market strat "C" shape necks on ea. and sold the Slick necks on Ebay. Both customers that bought them were happy with them. It is all about personal taste.
I'm amazed there isn't anything mentioned about the neck profile of these guitars. Also, I know Squier guitars have up to seven pieces of wood in there bodies and I'm going to assume this guitar will be much the same. I have heard good reports on the Guitar Fetish stuff, however I like greater detail on this guitar.
I have an SL57 and it’s a relatively flat/wide neck compared to more traditional vintage style guitars. Great all around for me, especially since I prefer more modern guitars but not super modern for the traditionalist either.
This guy is like 65 years old and dresses like a dumbass to try holding on to his 17 year old self as best he can then goes home and cries on the shitter

Thanks for giving us what UA-cam was missing, a proper look/ listen for the Slick guitars and pickups!
Thanks Slicky. Hard to find a better review for the SL50 in this UA-cam mess than from the man himself. Thanks for these.

It’s a 3 piece body.
The review is for the pickups not the guitar. This is very obvious. Pay attention to detail.
a tele without a tone knob seems like kind of a weird choice, I guess you have to cut the treble at the amp
0:46 That’s the one I bought and I am sooo satisfied! It’s very heavy weighted though. “Swamp ash”? Doubtful. Lol 😊😊😊
how many demons did Earl fight in that last battle?!? poor Earl......... :(
man that bridge sounds really brassy
Krister Kjørholt because it’s brass. The rest of the hardware is painted
hi, can you tell me some about neck? thin, medium... thanks. M.
Miguel Nunez this is what I want to know too. How can anyone consider buying this guitar without knowing the neck profile?
I cannot find any slick p bass review...is there any?
HOld on, I will buy one before the end of the year
What does country style playing sound like? I'd like to hear some chicken pickin' on this gitter.
Me : “These are Slick pickups”
Friend : “ They look like any other pickups I’ve
seen”
Me : “ No they’re literally slick pickups”
Friend : 🤦🏻♂️
I really want that guitar, but the logo is ugly as sin!...
Jaime Gianola sand it off!
Why do people keep.comnenting on the guitar, this is a pickup demonstration video.
Hand aged screws£3for a pack of four, fuck off

They are routed for a tone knob if you want to add one.
