Ponds are really useful. Can put up a fishing allowed (pre-stocked) sign and do fishing as well (stock it with large fish that sell for more simolions).

The pointed ends of shoes were for the horse stirrups. The heels started with butchers so they could keep most of their feet the hem of their trousers and their long aprons off the bloody floors while they worked... They became fashionable much later. So far as I'm aware.

When you get a notification that an animal is about to die, send them off for meat. Off the Grid doesn't mean you have no bills, it means you don't pay for power and water. You still have property taxes. Limit your building size and the price of furniture to keep your bills low. I love winter as well. :)
I’m so invested in this play through now. 😂 I love how Chantelle just went to make a snow angel as soon as she was resurrected, like she’s just loving life! PS horse girl here, heels are needed to ride safely and you balance the stirrups on the balls of your feet. The Sims made it accurate!

Apparently having the *community board on the lot* causes the Ranch Hand to glitch and not work properly. So removing it from the lot would fix the issue.

You should use the Home Regions mod - makes sims stay in their native world (Japanese sims stay in Mt. Komorebi!). Can make the world feel a bit empty though so you should maybe move some more sims into Chestnut Ridge first
You can trade the animals for me when they get close to the end of their life, that’s what I do when I’m trying to save money off the grid if you have aging enabled

Just hire the ranch hand again, when he doesn't show up. This way he'll come to work right away. The only thing he doesn't do is cleaning the chicken coop and the cow shed. (probably also no cow feeding) but he will feed the chickens and make all the animals happy. He even cares for plants and does your dishes and all that stuff.
Satch, you should sell that nectar to Mr. Crinkletop. Shanice will make a lot more simoleons off that sale. I'm glad I am not the only one that absolutely adores winter and winter weather.

The mini ones are there as aquaintances in the Relationships panel and you can "Focus the camera" on them to see where they are. Still adore this LP btw
3:30 my ranch hand just hangs out in my house most of the time, eating my food and loafing around like Kyle Kyleson. Hell even Kyle is more useful, he actually interacts with the animals. The ranch hand system is honestly more buggy than the butler is.

I just don't sell the Trendi outfits. That's all. Very easy, it doesn't override the CAS or Seasons mechanics but it is a fun gameplay mechanic if you're the type who likes to dress differently and spend money to do so. Sadly you can't take the damn things out of your inventory and put them anywhere, not a closet or a keepsake box or a garden chest. Bummer.
19:55 part 2: you can also sell individual outfits to sims via the Get to Work mannequins. Combined with the HSY thrifting rack it becomes something close to the olden days. Not quite, but close. Maybe there's a mod out there that changes CAS clothes into purchasables?

You can go fishing in ponds if you catch fish elsewhere and then get a fishing sign for the pond, click on it in Live Mode, and select the species of fishes that you'd like to live in the pond.
Loving this let's play, it's so funny! Also I heard there's a glitch with the balls that the horses just randomly stop using them. You have to delete the ball and buy it again to get it to work again. Hope this helps!
OMG I just love your videos!! Upgrade yoir cow barn & chicken coop to add the life extender!! Get the livestock parts by shift clicking on the barn/coop and the debug will let you get them!! I can't remember how many wach sim can get..6 maybe??
to stop them from putting dishes on top of things, put an object on there that's small like a pet toy or yarn ball, scaled all the way down with Shift + ] so it's hardly visible but the slot is taken up

Satch - I love this lot so much I've been using it for my own gameplay! I changed it a bit but honestly it's amazing. Also - I've noticed that with Horse Ranch I have more in my sims inventory (wine rack, fridge, etc) which then causes the game to lag so I tried to sell stuff more often and that helps with the lag a little bit.

Little Miss Sam has a mod that helps you locate the mini sheep and goats. Or you can put them in a pen and lock the gate so they can’t get out.

Having lower hand appliances and upgrading them is the way to go to have lower bills, too.
Using Eco construction build options also lower the bills.

To fix a stuck animation: shift click a sim, click reset object, and then try again. Usually works.
