Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 сер 2024
- Join us on our final look at Dive Coasters (for now) around the world on this remade video of Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland. This ride opened in 2019 as the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in the world and with the most inversions. Replacing the stand up roller coaster Skyrider. Is Yukon Striker at Canada Wonderland the best Dive Coaster ever made?
This video is a remake of a old video with new information, new footage and more detail.

I love the way that you instead of explaining the ride you literally explane the whole entire history leading up to that right from the start of the park
That is the best bit! For me anyway
Finally some recognition for us Canadians!!!❤️🇨🇦
Whoop Whoop!
I hope you do more Canada’s wonderland rides in the future because us Canadians who grew up close to this park know the amount of history involved here. The transition of paramount giving up ownership was a HUGE difference for us tbh I feel like the quality went down for a few years and they’re finally trying to fix things up and put in the work to make the rides and theming of the park great again
you are delusional Paramount was a shitty owner and Cedar Faire did so much to this park that an entitled individual like you wouldn't understand. What because the rides couldn't keep copyrighted names they did not own? Behemoth literally came in at 2008 with the park being treated with a bunch of flat rides, then two more B&M coasters added to the park. The drink plan, food plan and fast pass were great additions to the park especially the former with park food being like 18.00 a meal. Wonderland is literally labeled as a top tier park in the Cedar chain with King's Island and Cedar Point being the others. They spent MILLIONS upgrading this place as soon as they got it, but of course someone such as yourself will never appreciate that. smh
"There ain't NO SEAT". Had me rolling. Great Job as always.
I think you deserve way more attention than you get you put so much effort into each well done video 👍🏻 to agree
Thanks!
You really do have a great channel. I loved Defunctland but he hasn’t been doing much about theme parks lately.
He's going have a million subscribers soon at this rate!
Hudson Braue I agree but you begged for likes so I lost respect for your comment
@Ryan I am not begging for likes I would just like for the comment to be at the top so he can see (he did) and others can agree/disagree
I'd love to see a video about legoland or any legoland attractions. I just haven't seen much about it in the theme park youtube circles and I think there's some story to be told there
i'd love to see that too! another kiddie park i rarely see many vids on is sesame place in pennsylvania. not sure if there's much history to comment on but i really loved visiting there when i was little.
Sticking with the dive coaster theme I see!
You know it!
@@ExpeditionThemePark Guessing next is Griffon!
Expedition Theme Park please Griffon!I’m going on it tomorrow if you need footage of anything!
Leviathan still ranks supreme when it comes to speed and air time, but Yukon Striker is a very, very close second when it comes to the overall fun factor. Though I do miss Skyrider. I'd like to see another stand-up coaster in the future. What Wonderland really, _seriously_ needs to get their act together with first though is tearing down Flight Deck and *_especially_* Time Warp, and giving us proper, modern versions of an inverted coaster and a flying coaster. In fact, I wouldn't be broken up at all if they replaced literally every non-B&M coaster with a B&M variant -- EXCEPT for Vortex, which is still amazing.
Behemoth gives better airtime though...
Fun Fact: The dive coaster was paid for in 2015 and was supposed to open in 2016 but instead Valravn opened at Cedar Point and they didn’t open it until 2019. I got this Information from Amusement Insiders and Canada’s Wonderland was supposed to open Roller Coasters every 2 Years so we might see a new Coaster as soon as 2021. I hope they get RMC Wilde Beast as there next roller coaster but I would be fine with a B&M Invert or Intamin Blitz.
I'm thinking it's probably a Mack Launch. Copperhead Strike was a success and it would fit in well with a more family centric wonderland (especially with the 2020 hotel)
I don't think RMC can do work in Canada, there's a reason why, I just don't remember it at the moment.
Because a Canadian Company has to build it? i don’t think that law can stop them from building it if they work with a Canadian company
@@asherraymond4430
They're not registered in Canada yet. It's the same case with the EU, although RMC has managed to get around that by distributing through Vekoma in Europe.
Intamin blitz!!!!!
Nicely done. I'd like to see a video on cedar point famously blocking Wonderland from building a B&M invert, I'm still interested in details of how the SLC was built instead
Surely you can't be serious?!
That's one of the ongoing rumors why Kings Island got Mystic Timbers so soon after just receiving Banshee was because of a slight drop in attendance.
@@ThemeParkLife I am serious, and dont call me shirley. 😎
@@ThemeParkLifeBack when the only park Cedar Fair owned was Cedar Point, they purchased a large-scale B&M Invert: Raptor.
To make the sale, B&M agreed not to build any inverts at any nearby parks, including Paramount's Kings Island and Paramount's Canada's Wonderland.
Canada's Wonderland got Flight Deck, a Vekoma SLC, as an alternative, and Kings Island got no inverted rollercoasters. My guess is they saw how bad Flight Deck was and didn't want to buy any more.
Many years later, Cedar Fair acquired Paramount Parks. This meant the exclusivity deal no longer applied, since the company which made B&M agree to the exclusivity deal now owned all the parks it applied to.
This allowed Kings Island to build Banshee. Cedar Fair built Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland instead of a B&M Invert because they already had Flight Deck and it would have been redundant.
However, both Banshee and Yukon Striker serve the role of big, modern looping rollercoasters which are the longest of their kind.
That tunnel looks like it's from RCT2
Canada's Wonderland is my home park and I had the opportunity to visit the construction site while Yukon Striker was being built. The structure is absolutely massive and it was amazing to see how they were able to assemble everything in such a small space. Trying to walk around the site was basically like going through a maze with supports, pieces of track, and construction equipment all over the place. That ride is an absolute beast! Thanks for the video!
Yeah it is a really cool ride in the space they used! Now get rid of the water park for more rides! (Also my home park I live in Toronto)
@@ExpeditionThemePark Oh shit, didn't know that XD Just kind of assumed you were based in England (not just the accent, you have A LOT of videos on UK theme Parks and rides) XD. Didn't occur to me that you're an expat :P. Hope you like T.O though. And Wonderland. We may not have the best coaster selection (we have a lot but not all of them are good quality, but we have a really good variety of flat rides.
I've been going to Canada's Wonderland since I was a kid, and over the last couple of years they've really beefed things up roller coaster wise! Ridding the front of Yukon Striker is like flying, and I love it so much! I miss Skyrider though. Thanks for doing a video about my park!!
I miss skyrider as well it was such a unique ride
I actually went on Skyrider on it’s last day. It was my first and only time on the ride and I quite enjoyed it. It was so cute, because the loaded you in a covered area, and when you looked up, you could see the ride operators in their booth, and for the last day they had put up a “happy retirement” banner.
Your videos are just getting better and better! Thank you!! 🙌🏼
Really love the themed approach to collections of episodes. You're keeping things fresh without betraying your format. Good stuff! I know we'll get to Valravn eventually ;)
Valravn is amazing.
I want to visit Yukon, it's the smallest of Canada's federal territories and it's beautiful
It is beautiful
@@ExpeditionThemePark I used to live there
It looks lonely, I'd never go there, I like big cities
Coastaku that’s why I moved
We have the exact same interests
Oh and just for an idea for future. There was a theme park called metro land in Newcastle which was I think the biggest indoor in Europe. It closed at least 10 years back but would love to see a video on that at some point!
Your videos are always my favourite to watch, and I’m so stoked you did one on my home park! Thanks for the great video and I can’t wait to see more Wonderland ones hopefully in the future 😁
These videos are always top notch attractions in there own right and that little jingle at the start set's the mood perfectly..top job
I have binge watched so many of your videos, these are epic and you deserve all the best for this channel! X
I’m so glad you talked about my home country! I love your videos, and you keep each one so interesting and fresh that I can’t help but come back for more!
Love your videos, and it's really nice to see one of my home parks get recognition! Can't wait to ride this one soon.
The adverts of the Yukon Striker you show in this video are so much more fun than the ones of like Th13rteen and such from UK parks. Not everything has to be the scariest ever
Finally a great rollercoaster with an amazing name!
Hi Scott!
Har har har
I love your videos! Thanks for all you do!
Another amazing fact filled video. Very interesting to watch. Your hard work is paying off. I’m addicted to ETP already. I watch your videos every meal time. 👍
Incredible vid, the old vids & facts are incredible well done mate top job
Loving all these dive coasters, and glad to see the home town one up now.. was honestly expecting Griffon before this
I love ur videos, they are so interesting. I love roller coasters, and I am glad to see an awesome channel giving roller coasters the attention they deserve, thank you.
Thank you for watching !
Thank you for making them, they are such high quality and very interesting.
Something gives me the feeling that you have been reviewing a lot of dive coasters recently? Wonder why that is?! *oh wait you have*
No joke really enjoying these coaster expeditions!
Just a coincidence :D
I love this mini series. As much as I'm a wimp to ride these, the history and engineering to create such a beast, intrigues me so much.
Great work as always! You deserve way more subs! CAW!
Pretty cool. Can't wait to ride Yukon. Looks really wild. Glad Skyrider is still in operation. Thanks for this .
Bruh, THIS VID IS AMAZING DUDE
KEEP IT UP😁
I’m a definitely subscribing
im really enjoying these style episodes. nice work!
Thank you!
Loved this series of Dive Coasters!
It wasn't planned and just happened ha
Nice to see my hometown park get covered! Love it!
Thanks for this video. You made my day.
Dude! love your videos
Good video and even better roller !
I'm in love with this channel
Another great video ☺
Thanks for doing Wonderland some love!
Of course i live in Toronto!
Amazing, started watch a little while ago, keep up the great work!
I legit got chills at the end there...
I really love your channel, it’s really interesting to learn about theme park history! Have you ever considered making a video about Paulton’s Park? I went there last year, it was awesome and I’d love to know about the history behind its rides!
Thank you! I may cover something on it in the future.
I enjoy your vids so much. The only drawback is that when I watch these I want to visit them all, but can't.
One day!
You definitely have some awesome videos and I enjoyed watching all of them. You should do one on the Flying Turns at Knoebels Amusement Resort the only wooden bobsled coaster in the world.
Thank you so much! I will for sure be covering it in the future
Love coasters, especially ones that dive! It would be great to see the history of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA since it has the most roller coasters in one park. I’m sure it has an interesting backstory worth looking into.
I’m going to wonderland in around 3 weeks and I am SO EXCITED! I’ve never been before and I’m a total roller coaster nerd!
Have fun!!
Hey same
Good job I like dive coasters with all this content
This was the last ha
Ya gotta love dive coasters and expedition theme park
Ya just gotta!
The view up there is crazy!
Great video
Well done video, you must put a lot of time into them 👍
Finally rode Yukon Striker in July 2021, ten years after my last visit to the park. It was a blast and thanks to the single rider line I got on in under 15 minutes
Absolutely adored these episodes this week, can you do a video on fantasy Island in UK please
Great work, as usual, maybe one I will have the chance
Interesting as always! Wondering if you would ever look into any Chessington world of adventure rides (idk like the vampire or dragons fury?)
Yeah I will do something!
Do the history of KingDa Ka !
I will
@@ExpeditionThemePark yay !
I miss Skyrider so much but this is a nice farewell to one of the original rides at Wonderland.
Amazing work as always! Have you looked into Riverside Park in Massachusetts, the only theme park in New England, which was eventually bought by Six Flags? The transition from one park to the next was really hard on locals and die hards and we’re interested in how the park grew from its humble beginnings.
Running the drop through Vortex's helix was a masterstroke
I love how you mention the designer of Frontier Canada was a historian and journalist of Canadian goldstrikers, but took his inspiration from Silver Dollar City, which is located in Missouri. Lol 😁
Me love a good dive machine, cheers for this!
Thanks for watching
I was First Rider 34 of 72 and I was the first to have a riders POV video using special sun glasses that had a built in 1080p camera. While hand held cameras are not allowed, these camera glasses with a restraint band were. I did a number of videos this past summer at Wonderland and rode Yukon Striker 105 times. I will be back at Canada's Wonderland next summer looking for my next adventure, but before next summer is Halloween Haunt and the new Winterfest to attend.
I like this series:)
Yukon Striker is the real deal. I was able to ride it 3 times on the day I visited in June thanks to Fast Pass and it was easily the best experience at the park for me, even better than Leviathon. I can’t wait to go back and ride it again.
Now. Just wait till this man does CW's new ride. And don't forget Leviathan!
2 videos in a row, Wow!
Dive coaster week!
Ring racer the s&s launch coaster that must have the smallest operation life of a coaster ever 😅 would love see that covered!
Didn't know this coaster had so much history!
Oblivion, Sheikra, Baron and now this? Man, you love dives.
You actually took my advise on the new diving coaster series ?😍😂
The bit about the tunnel having sumps made me realize this is probably why underground tunnels are relatively uncommon, and why a lot of tunnels go into lakes. if the tunnel bottoms out in a lake, you only have to pump against the inwards pressure of the lake, where if you're pumping out and up, there's a lot of static pressure to overcome to get water moving. I wonder if they use eductors, or just regular pumps.
You should do more episodes on Canada’s wonderland like on leviathan or behemoth
I would love to see the flume at Alton Towers next if you can
More of a quick trip to the shops than an expedition... But enjoy your work mate!
Just had a chance to ride this with my 9 year old son. It was his third roller coaster ever and he looked like he was going to faint watching it while waiting in line 😂
Ride was absolutely amazing though!
Great video! Will there be a history of Rita video?
Maths with Luigi there already is one
I got this credit last month and it's a fantastic ride. The ride itself is more intense than SheiKra but I don't think it's a better ride.
Ya Canada. Thanks. I remember SkyRider, it was fun but yes as a man, it did hurt. Can't say where. Nice history of the park too
Is this Dive Coaster week? Lol. It’s like your channel’s version of Shark Week.
It’s crazy to think that the same company that built KI in Ohio built a park in Canada too!
There's a ride at a Michigan's Adventure called "Shivering timbers" that I'd like to see a video on. The whole history of the park is fairly interesting though, because it used to be a deer park.
Video ranking all dive coasters you've been on!
Would you consider doing an Expedition Extinct on Ontario Place? You mentioned you live in Toronto so it might be something interesting for you, especially since it was a publicly owned and operated park rather than a privately owned establishment like most theme parks. It's fate is still up in there since the city and provincial government still haven't decided what do with the land, so there's been a lot of turmoil and scrutiny over it.
please make more wonderland videos!!
Next on Expedition Theme Park; The complete History of Zadra 😅
can you do a video on shock wave at kings dominion ( it got removed in 2015 so this may have to be a expedition extinct ) I still think if would be a cool and fun video tho
you should do an expedition on hansa park, it has a very interesting history, it originally opent as a legoland park but closed just 3 years after it opent
I do have some plans to do this at some point!
I like Roller Coasters no matter if it's the tallest or not
You made a mistake with the mine buster I think you meant “mighty Canadian spinebuster”
Flamingo land history?? Love the vids
well the only dive i ridden was valravn which i thought was one of the better rides at cedar point (not legendary but still fun) out of all 4 you covered this week i think i would want to try barron 1898 the most if only because of the theming
They are all so different yet the same. Baron is a good choice
I want to try EVERYTHING at Efteling. The theming looks like it puts Disney to shame!
Angela .Rajic i live close to Efteling and know everything about it and in my opinies the atmosphere is 10 times better then at any Disney park ive visited
Millennium force would be neat to see!
im going to go ride Yukon Striker this Saturday
I like how you keep coming back to "Yeah, Sheikra's still the best." That's still my one must-ride at Busch Gardens.
It is truen
Honestly I have a bit of a controversial opinion. On dive coasters, but oblivion will always be my favourite dive machine. It just has something to it that makes it so good and I really can't explain what it is, it just works amazingly
Hey dude can you do Taiga from Finland Helsinki
