Most people knew Robert Horton from his days on the TV series Wagon Train but I'll bet not many knew that he was a great stage actor. He starred in 110 in the Shade on Broadway in 1963 and his strong singing voice served the role of Starbuck the "rainmaker" very well. He got excellent reviews for his efforts in the show. Listen to the song "Melisande" to get an idea of how good a singer he was. For almost 20 years in the 60s and 70s he toured all over the US performing in plays and musicals. Robert Horton was truly a multi-talented actor.

Good Man
This man was immensely talented. I wish there was a good film version of "110 in the Shade."
Me Too !!!
110 in the Shade opened less than a month before Kennedy was killed.
tan bello y canta lindo lindo
He was my man when I was at school
He had at lot to do with the creation of Flint so it you love him or Flint, you're loving the same person.
Lovely song but why in mono? the LP cover says stereo?
I read somewhere stating the lp is stereo but this version is mono on dvd.

The most charitable thing you can say about his singing is that he's far better than Tony Bennett.
Not bad at all, Robert!
A little too echo-chamber-y for my taste, but other than that, nice.

@@harleykingman I agree about Clint Walker. He was a real man, and laid-back like John Wayne.
