- Five years have passed since the Voltron Force defeated Prince Lotor (as well as horribly disfiguring him), retired and went their separate ways. In all that time since, Lotor is still in prison and Castle Doom's whereabouts remain unknown. Amalgamus and a (supposedly) reformed King Zarkon request Keith and Allura's help in learning the latter. Lotor is in no mood to talk, but something big is clearly going on. With him as evil as ever and the sudden reemergence of space pirates, the Voltron Force may be needed to once again to defend the Alliance

Dude, I found this lame as a kid and inferior to better cgi series like Reboot and Beast Wars/Beast Machines.
I'm here in the wait for season 3 and I'm so glad I'm watching this now because it means when s3 comes out I'll be even happier to watch some nice 2017 2D animation that doesn't look like the result of roblox and anime action figures' children sitting in a nuclear explosion
When the CGI makes you blind because you are so used to today's CGI. Why does Lotor look like the T100(0?)( whatever number it is )?

Robert Polityka I know he's a great voice artist. He fits the voice of Lotor like a glove better than the 80's guy who did his voice.

The CGI reminds me of Reboot and Beast Wars. The Amalgamus dialog like 7 Zark 7 from Battle of the Planets / Gatchaman.

I remember watching this before beast wars on Sunday Mornings. the animation may not be the greatest but I enjoyed it as a kid .

Man, as someone who enjoyed Beast Wars and who's also fond of this cartoon, I love being hated by the 80's Community for having different preferences that don't involve their childhood shows XD lol.

Growing up with Jimmy Neutron, Butt-Ugly Martians, and the first generation of PS1 games this early form of CGI doesn't bother me.. It's what I know...same with the voice acting. I recognize pretty much all of the voices (although I can't place or remember many of the VA's names lol). What bothers me is the horrible writing and character design o.o I thought nothing would be worse than Voltron Force....but I was wrong xD This version is more like Voltron: Circa 2000's Barbie Movie.

I admit The Thrid Dimension wasn't everyone's cup of tea but imo what suprised me about it is that Kevin Michael Richardson and Billy West voice Hunk and Pidge in this, which is cool :)
The largest continuity issue between Voltron: The Third Dimension and its predecessor is the state of Keith and Princess Allura's relationship after five years. The topic continues to be one of debate amongst the show's fan community and is sometimes attributed as a reason that fans of the original series did not warm up to Voltron: The Third Dimension.

While the CGI hasn't aged well, this is still a better series than the Nickelodeon Voltron in my opinion, no annoying kid characters, and Tim Curry as Lotor! That's pretty cool :3

I thought the voice actors for the Nickelodeon cartoon were decent since I heard Garry Chalk who's the voice of Optimus Primal did voice some General dude named "Wade" or something from the Nickelodeon show.

This looks a lot more awful and cheap from what I can remember as a kid in the early 2000s (Yes in Portugal we only had volltron 3D dubed between 2002-2003)… I guess my parents old sony trinitron crt tv + the bad cable signal from that period did half of the charm

Guys seriously take a look at this, this is CGI from the 1998s to 2000s the foundation of CGI animation at it's prime back then it was close to realism as they could get, sure it's ugly now since we're use to the current CGIs of today, but back then it blew our minds to see this and what the possibles for CGIs could do for the future, so yes it's not the best looking but it was the start of an art style for future animators to go back and see what to do and what not to do for improving there skill
Apparently, you never saw Transformers Beast Wars or ReBoot from the same era. Catch a episode or two from each and send me some feedback.

They got this idea from Beast Wars. Continuing the story from the 80s cartoon with 3d Animation.

The voice acting was great, but the cg was not well implemented. They should have focused on style instead of realism. Talk about uncanny valley.

I watched this on Space Toon when I was 15 in the early-2000s. It looks familiar with Giant Robot since I grew up watching Voltron in Arabic dub back in 1994.
