For millennia, the evil Galra empire has plagued the universe by destroying other civilizations and enslaving various races. @@dantejackson4606 right I just noticed that too trying to figure out why I never noticed it when I was a child? Like I definitely noticed starscream and Cobra Commander. But they were in the same space so I guess it was easier. Voltron was on some way different different anime type. So I never put two and two together. I should have been more attentive.

I'm still traumatized. It was the mid 1980's. I'm five years old, I have all the Voltron Lions and little people that go inside them. And the family moved, and the box with the toys got lost or something. Next thing I know, I'm playing with Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtles. Never got over it. lol
I know what you mean. I had a Rat Patrol lunch box I got in the second grade and carried it to the sixth grade.Then we moved and I had to leave it behind. Those old boxes are worth money now. 😞
I had the entire chipmunk collection with David and the van and all instruments. My brother traded my toys at school, for other crappy toys.
I hated my brother for a long time after that. Alls forgiven now, but I'll never forget.

I was glued to our TV box until it was 4pm (just one day in a week) when the national broadcast would start so that I could watch just any of the 30-min episodes allowed for viewing in Southern Nigeria. My childhood memories!!😁 Imagine the days I couldn't watch because we didn't have electricity?
I missed out on this EPISODE!

Childhood memories. Back in mid 90's, PTV used to telecast Voltron.
Back in the day, 4 year old me went absolutely bananas when the horns kicked in.

For sure, most definitely. I hated the car version and wouldn't bother watching it when it aired. The lion version looked better to me. Seems as though it was a better fit for the show.
I agree. It was much simpler with just five people and you can get along with them. Particularly Princess Allura. She defines “girl power”.
Voltron was my Favorite Cartoon in the 80s... those Robot Lions blow my mind
I remember how I was ENORMOUSLY jealous of Pidge because he piloted a robot lion vehicle while I was stuck with walking or a bicycle.
My best childhood cartoon. Now I’m 39 years old. Still love this. We hadn’t a television those days. We Had to walk 100 meters to watch television. I’m from Sri Lanka.

Amazing. I remember as kid, I was 10 back in 2000. Every Thursday after school i would run straight home so that i don't miss it. I also never got to see the last episode until now.
Was just doing some browsing and found this gem. Back in the day, 1983 or 1984, I was in college and found this amazing new cartoon series. I grew up watching The Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner cartoons and was still an avid Looney Tunes fan. Then I found this, and then Thundercats, and then Silverhawks. Here I am, having just turned 59, and I'm watching a cartoon designed for kids. I'm perfectly okay with this. 🙂

Licensing, World Events Productions holds the rights and licensing in the US to Voltron. They haven’t been very cooperative with the studios. There have been studios who have wanted to produce a live action movie, but WEP stands in the way !

Vehicle voltron was ok but lions were alot better. With the Vehicle's, I didn't who was operating what. Lol! Too many parts. Lol
