The Rukka Armas Jacket is an amalgamation of all the best technology in the motorcycle apparel universe rolled into one rugged package. Rukka has sought out the best of the best and spares no expense in the design of the Armas. The Gore-Tex 3-Layer Pro Shell outer shell is constructed of Armacor and coupled with SuperFabric in the impact zones to provide superior abrasion resistance. The main connection zipper is a Generation 2 Gore-Tex LockOut closure that ensures a waterproof seal. Each jacket also comes with a silicon lubricant pen to keep the operation of the LockOut zipper working smoothly. Internal gaiters at the cuffs and a detachable collar are made of Gore-Tex material that will stretch and move with the body. Shoulder, Elbow and Back protection are made of the proprietary Rukka RVP Air protectors that meet the EN1621-1 CE safety standards and offer the best level of breathability of any other Rukka armor. The detachable thermal liner is made with 60g of Outlast material that absorbs and releases heat when the body demands, acting as a temperature balancing layer. For warmer temperatures, the Outlast liner can be removed and the Lockout closure vents in the chest and zippered shoulders can be opened to provide direct airflow. When the liner is out, two take-up snaps on the arms and a waist cinch allow the rider to fine tune fit. Waterproof and non-waterproof pockets allow the rider to stash all their important belongings. The Rukka Armas jacket is made to mate with the Rukka Armas pants and has a 360° zipper connection. When wearing the Armas jacket without the pants, a strap can be fastened under the groin to ensure the jacket stays in place and is in accordance with CE safety requirements for the entire jacket. The Armas jacket and pants are one of the beefiest, gnarliest, hardcore riding outfits we've seen yet; it's like a personal moto-bomb shelter.
Thanks for the feedback. We're happy to hear there are folks out there who have spent time in this suit and are happy they made the investment. ~Ali
I have this jacket...had to special order from a dealer in AZ....wish I had waited till now. Oh Well!! This is by far the greatest jacket I have ever owned for these seasons(I have a Klim Badlands Pro for Summer off roading). Do yourselves a favour, and get this if you can afford it. It seriously rocks and comfy to boot!! I ride a 2011 R1200 GSA if anyone cares and I ride mostly in the NE.
Thanks Jim. The Rukka gear is primo stuff. Once you spend some time in it, you understand. There is something to be said about gear that doesn't give any distractions while riding. ~Ali
It's great to see that now you have Rukka gear! The Armas Jacket offers serious protection, technology and style! I wish they offered in Orange/Black color combo.
I've been using Rukka for 4 years now. I had the AllRoad (adventure) jacket + pants and now have the Gobi Jacket + Kalahari pants. Hard to get Rukka up here in Canada so it's great to see that you guys ship to the north! 'ride' on!
The Alpinestars Tech ST Gore-Tex has a Euro cut compared to the bulk of the Pro Shell jackets we offer, but most of the Pro Shell jackets have a similar venting scheme and will perform about the same in hot weather. The NEW Klim Adventure Rally stands apart with excellent venting, but it's a serious jacket and investment. Klim uses large panels of Dow Deflexion panels in the chest that greatly increase the amount of airflow through the jacket, but the fit will be closer to the Badlands. ~Ali
This is an amazing Jacket - no question. Expensive yes but then proper protection usually is. Great fit and style - who said you couldn't have both. I've had this Jacket for over two seasons. Slight colour fade on some parts and a broken zip pull are the only complaints after 30,000 plus kms. The jacket is very comfortable until you hit severe heat 85 - 90. If you can afford it - you won't be disappointed. Great job Anthony in explaining the product features - as always!
Motoport is only sold and distributed by Motoport. Since we are not an authorized dealer for their products, we won't do a video review. There are some nice reviews up from some other sources if you are searching for feedback on their products. ~Ali
It's tough to compare Olympia to Rukka, as Rukka is one of the most premium motorcycle apparel brands in the world. (and yes, very lust-worthy). ~Ali
The Armas is no joke. ~Ali
Mine is a year old now. Expensive but the best biking money I've ever spent. The quality is superb, the protection is superb, the price is not so superb but it eats up U.K. Weather easily on a commute of 80 miles in all weather. If you can afford it, get it. If you can't, save up., it not need replacing for ages.
Great review. Thanks for the thorough breakdown. I'm not one to drop 1300 on a jacket but, based on the info you've provided, I plan to do just that.
This is a hilarious comment and so stinking true. - Anthony
wow! That stories are pretty impressive, specially what you said about rev´it, that gear seems so fancy, cool, but in some way you realise that it`s just a mirage.I will consider Rukka for my next purchase, thank you friend!
Wow! Quite a closet! I'm partial to the Stradon myself, but that has to do more with fit and style. Have you seen the Rukka Merlin? That is a bit more along the lines of the Stradon, IMO. -CK
Would love to see a vid comparing Rukka Armas and the KLIM Adventure Rally Jackets
If it were between the Armas, the new Armaxion and the Dainese Strada. Which one would you say has the better ventilation for summer rides?
And why is this jacket without D3O armor so much more expensive than the new D3O inclusive Armaxion and Cosmic?
...is my second home so I agree with that comment. I'm selling my 3 year old son and my 2 week old Klim Badlands kit to get this jacket. SICK!
Hi REVZILLA I don't find this Rukka Armas Jacket 😑here in Milan Italy ....
Fantastic review .
This is an awesome jacket, but due to limited ventilation, it would be difficult to wear in summer. I am looking for a true 4 season jacket that has a Gore Pro shell with good venting for summer. What would you suggest? I am 5'5" 150lbs and Klim Badlands sits pretty long for me, I wish they had a euro cut/shorter jacket.
i understand and agree with you, maybe for a world trip this is the real deal, but my mind still asks if there`s such a distance between this and the Durban from Astars or the Defender from Rev it, for example.
Hi RevZilla, firstly, I love you guys! Whenever I want to invest in something, I come to here to watch your reviews FIRST!
I own this Armas jacket and trousers, I've had it for about 2 years now. I feel like I should wash it, but I'm worried I'll loose it's amazing waterproofness! Any tips on how I should do this? Care for it etc? Many thanks in advance!
Actually, you need to wash it to _maintain_ it's waterproofing. Care instructions were included with the garments and may be on the sewn tags as well. You can also see our video on cleaning. Rukka has simple instructions online as well. I prefer to use NikWax Tech Wash rather than standard detergent. -DrewZilla

I thought my Olympia was a great three seasons jacket, but now I'm lusting after a Finn
Is all of Rukka's gear they make at least the jackets, pants, and gloves made with gortex? Their gear seems perfect for all seasons in Seattle, PNW area...
They make non-waterproof summer gear as well, but their waterproof gear all uses Gore-Tex for the waterproof membrane. -DrewZilla

Columken both the jacket and trousers are a great fit, the jacket gapes a little around the waist, maybe I need to let my stomach catch up with my chest :-) bought mine from Motolegends in UK who matched the Biker Land de price. My only gripe is that the neck fastener would have been better with a velcro tab or stud on the back to fasten it out the way when off the bike.
The liner sleeves should be zipped because the black and red loops pull out and brings the liner with it when taking the jacket off, also the velcro neck strap could be longer as with a 17/18'' neck its too tight and strap will barely reach
Size 50 sounds very small. I am similar size to him. Between 42 and 44 chest. 6 foot tall, and not carrying excess weight. Would usually get size 54. Should I be getting a 50? And are the trousers also similar sizing. I wear 52 dainese trousers
+columkenn The Armas fits looser than Dainese, so I personally wear one size smaller in Rukka than I do in Dainese. If you are closer to a 44 inch chest, get size 52. For pants, go with size 50. -DrewZilla
+columkenn I bought Rukka ArmaS 2016 model, I am 6ft, 220 pounds, 44 inch chest, wide shoulders not overweight, jacket size Euro 54, my inside leg 32 inch, waist 36 inch, Euro size 54.I hope this helps.
+jeg569 Thanks, it is helpful. Does it fit loose or tight at that size?
Seems an awsome jacket, but who can do such an investment having really good jackets around that does almost the same for half the price?
Are the Rukka Armas, Armaxis much shorter then a Klim Latitude?
+RETICS1 No, they're all about the same length. A medium Latitude, size 50 Armas, and size 50 Armaxis are about 22-23 inches in front zipper length. All three have a 3-4 inch longer drop tail. -DrewZilla
So how about that motoport gear
hahahaaha! Yes i think Anthony is gonna be that kind and considered, no doubt about it.
RUUUKKKKAAAA. My moto is my e
i liked it until he turned around and i saw that giant :R" you where spot on when you mentioned in another video how the Europeans like the walking billboard gear and the americans prefer the opposite. subtle, stylistic :no free advertising!
