Okay, so I was on the fence about this game for a while so I decided to watch your playthrough as we seem to have pretty similar taste in games - aaaaaand I saw the Jersey Devil was one of the Monsters!!! I couldn’t even finish your video before buying; growing up outside Philly I was obsessed with the Jersey Devil! Ha I hope the game is good beyond featuring my main Cryptid.
Than y you for the video. Watched part of it yesterday, went out and bought the game, played it with friends, then finished watching it today 😅 I'm curious if you're playing an earlier version because in my copy, the Jersey Devil card says to also increase Doom for like symbols that are in a diagonal together. It made cleanly solving that ritual board pretty tough.
Yup! I was playing an early prototype. That change sounds like it makes the scenario tougher, which is probably a good thing. Hope you continue to enjoy the game! :)
Thanks a bunch for the video! Unfortunately the lack of a true solo mode (and the strange semi asymmetrical two player mode) is a deal breaker for me. Therefore, I'm looking forward to your Hunted Wode Ridge video. Thanks again for your effort with these.
For sure Wode Ridge is the one to go to for solo. I could see a solo variant working for this one for the two monsters that don’t have hidden movement, but not for the two invisible ones
Thanks to this video, I finally got a copy of this game. It’s awesome! Thanks Mike! Also, would you consider doing your next vid entirely in the Friendly Granddad voice?
It's fine, as long as the second player doesn't mind controlling multiple kids (which honestly isn't too tough). Honestly, that was probably my favorite player count, because since the basic kids have a lot less to do than the main kid, controlling multiple ones balances out the game choices well.
@@jackrutter9797 hmmm, interesting question. My kids had an easier time with Horrified, but the hidden information aspect gives this some excitement that Horrified can't really match... I'm not sure!
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah this definitely builds in Horrified, but it doesn't seem very solable? Also how repayable are the quests/bad guys? I'm guessing the figuring out bit is random between each game? (Sorry I might have to rewatch the start of your video for the setup!)
@@jackrutter9797 Oh yeah, no real way to solo unless you cheat like I did here. And as for replayability, once you've seen the story beats for a given monster, it loses a little of the fun, but mechanically the puzzle is still interesting.

Haha, that’s awesome! I had a lot of fun playing with my family (my only coop option most days), so I expect you’ll like it too ;)

Hahahaha, I have to find the right game...
and don't you think "crotchety granddad who served in the war" would be more fun?
Haha oh yes! What an excellent creative decision!
Thank you for Upload!! Awesome
Thanks for watching!
So you can’t play this solo then con do there’s hidden info?
You cannot play it solo, at least by the rules. You need one player to handle the lost kid hidden information.
How is this game for only 2 players?
It's fine, as long as the second player doesn't mind controlling multiple kids (which honestly isn't too tough).

Thanks for the playthrough Mike, this kind of reminds me of Horrified for some reason!?
Oh yeah, I can see that totally! Avoid the monster, pick up the items to eventually defeat them, etc.
@@OneStopCoopShop now that you have that connection in your head , which do you prefer?! Lol

Thank God for your timestamps because I wasn't gonna listen to you Mrs Jenkins voice that's for sure! 😂
You hurt my soul!!! ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop you get A for effort! 😉
I would so watch an 80s style adventure show narrated by Mike
Haha, thanks! I’m ready for my call! Get me an agent ;)
