Battle axe vs hipster boat. Well for a UA-camr that is a no brainer. Serious and save boating vs Tick Tock . Jokes aside, i knew from the start what you would pick. Have fun with the money pit 😊 In the end you need to be happy with the boat.
Youre not on the wrong track! It cost us more than the boat amount 😂 But still worth every penny. Even though pennies are a bit under estimated, ill rephrase and say worth every doller 😂
True Blue water boats are not cheap. Do the chain plates and take the IP. She wont be as fast but you will be much more comfortable in her when the seas are up , and you will find yourself in big seas . Also that full keel will track well and heave to. The fin keeler will not . When you go to ground , not if..... but when, the fin keeled boat will sustain a lot of damage , the full keel boat will not sustain any . Remember you will be a long way from any haulout facility so get the boat that can take a grounding . Lets not even talk about the rudder !!
Some good information you have there. Thank you, but for the purposes of cruising in Maldives we decided on the B40. I like the IP wish I could take both 😂
@@SailingNakaiy My pleasure , I have been working on boats and sailing for 50 years so I have seen a lot. The Maldives are a beautiful place , but no support at all . pick a good weather window and be care full on your navigation, that boat will not take well to rough seas or a hard grounding . Fair winds
Brilllllliant- thanks for sharing ⛵️ 👍

I'd guess the Beneteau would cost $80k to fix up, and that is with you doing most of the work.

Surely you meant a "Braai" area George!!!
Thanks for correcting me. That was a rookie mistake 😂

@@svsalserenity4375 I agree 100% Maldives has no support in the sailing community. Unfortunately because it is such a beautiful country.
I would have opted for the beneteau but definitely not that one. Stay away, it’s not worth $10,000 and is a money pit.
Thanks for the advice, a bit too late now. 😂
