We are GeorgeandSav, if you have not heard of us we have been travelling through Maldives for the past 3 years exploring local islands and 5 star luxury resorts. You can see all our journeys on our other channel: youtube.com/@georgeandsav?si=4y38Zbjl9i-juh8K
NOW, Welcome to Sailing Nakaiy, a 40 ft Beneteau Oceanis 40 CC Clipper that is ready to explore the turquoise waters of Maldives. We have been dreaming of sailing through the Maldives for so long, but with no boat or experience, the idea seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we were ready to add this to our goals and started chasing it. That is where our story began, on the shores of Langkawi Malaysia where we found her. We decided to take the plunge and make her ours. She was in a pretty bad shape and needed some serious repairs.

OUR FIRST STORM sailing in MALDIVES | Giant Lobsters and Shark Encounters [ep 8]

Come with us for what we thought will be a week long trip to Gaafaru - Maldives. This was a trip that challenged us mentally and physically, but also showed us the true beauty of being of being able to call this beautiful place home.
If there’s one thing sailing has taught us, it’s that plans can change in an instant. From battling our first storm, tearing our genoa, to having sharks circle our boat, we’ve had to adapt quickly. But with the bad comes the good- catching our first lobsters to finding the most secluded anchored spot - it has been a AMAZING journey.

Which sailboat should we BUY? Beneteau Oceanis 40 CC Clipper VS Island Packet 32 [ ep 1]
I had the same problem with starting my engine and funny enough I did the same thing you did. Replaced starter, checked the current of the glow plugs using the shunt of the house batteries which seemed to be the only way to reliably start the engine. In the end the way I resolved the problem is to put a much more beefy starter battery. I got a 100A AGM battery which is almost a house battery it's kind of overkill but quite frankly just like you I checked everything else and all checked out good so If the house batteries always start it that tells you the engine needs a bit more juice so I gave it to it and now I don't worry about it anymore.
Its probly a bad alternator.
Just stumbled across your channel and i wanted to say I'm so proud of you guys. It's always been a dream of mine to sail, I'm currently in the Maldives as well and i enjoyed it so much that I'm now actually thinking of making sailing my main goal for 2025. I'll subscribe to your channel and will eventually contact you for some pointers if you're willing to help. Keep up the good work!
Hi. You should know that several Maldivian Islands are off-limits for tourists. The country, being islamic, shields off local women from tourists. You will not be able to visit the locally inhabited island, except Male and a few others. Beware of the local law. Enforcement is strict and dangerous.
did you guyss register the yacht in the maldives?
Can you share a little about the process you went through to buy the boat? Also so sick you doing this I'm 29 it's a big dream of mine aswell
Please go to B.fulhadhoo “pirate beach” might be a really cool anchorage for you guys. Also how much was your boat ?
Brilllllliant plan ⛵️ - keep your day jobs ✈️
PERFECT BIKINI
Definitely me!!
Thanks for sharing! George eventhough you're unlucky catching fish, you were VERY lucky catching Savannah!
Thank you Bert, I caught her on the Eastern coast of South Africa. 🇿🇦 Hopefully Ill get more lucky next time catching fish.
I will!
Just found your channel. What kinda boat do you have
Hi, so glad you found us. 😊 We have a Beneteau Oceanis 40 CC clipper 1998
if I could I would surely would!
Cobgrats guys🎉 How much did you spend on repairs and how long did it take?
Thanks you. It took us a bit longer than planned cause we could only go during off days from work but we also had to wait for the NE monsoon to take us downwind to Maldives so around 4-5 months. The cost was pretty much the same as what we paid for the boat 35K.
Live it! Enjoy live!
Love! Love! Is in the air 😂❤❤
So proud of you!❤❤
😂😂😂❤❤
😂love it!!
Looks very exciting 🎉
Looks awesome! Love a braai! You are so lucky to braai on the boat! Absolutely awesome ❤❤

Hello, I am following you from Turkey. Your videos are very dynamic, beautiful, very sweet, the road you are on must be challenging, I hope you have enough knowledge and experience
Hello, thank you so much! ☺️ Its good to see our videos are also reaching Turkey.

Surely you meant a "Braai" area George!!!
Thanks for correcting me. That was a rookie mistake 😂
Wow...Just found this. I subscribed. You two are great and Savannah is gorgeous. I will enjoy your travels!!
Thank you Marc ☺️
I seen on another UA-cam channel.Someone who has a little motor operated brush. They hold in the Palm of their hand underwater and spins and scrubs everything off. That's what you need
I also saw it recently, I dont think its strong enough to remove hard barnacles though? On the video they only removed alge growth.
Süper very nice video thank you so much sveet love beatıful family
Thank you! 😊
That was fun to be along with you two 🎉🎉I’ve been watching you for a while ❤️❤️
Thank you Mark, nice to know you have followed along with us from the start 😊
Love this Maldives episode, so full of great sailing, diving and the most exquisite cuisine I've viewed in quite a while. Love the coconut & tuna recipe, snapper of the grill to die for and lobster all look delicious. Sorry about the camera, rough sea's have a way of breaking even the best equipment. Wishing you both far winds and continued success with your first rate channel.
Hi David, thank you for the nice comment. Food and sailing is our top 2 favourite things 😂
awesome to see a south africans joining the youtube crowd.
I love how you’re so positive and respond even to criticism with a smile! Such a fantastic quality to have in our day and age. I wish you all the best and enjoy those wonderful moments together. 😊
Thank you so much. Sometimes we do learn a thing or two from criticism, so whether its good or bad we want to know about it. Although comments like yours are the BEST. Wish I could like it twice 😂
Anchor beer 🍺 just makes sense

hi guys new sub here, awsome videos am planning a trip with my gf to maldives can i ask where and what brand of pole spear your using , any idea which shop in maldives sells it
Hi, thank you. Where are you planning to go? If its a resort island you wont be allowed to pole spear or do fishing from the island, only on local island. Theres lots of rules here unfortunately. But you can go have a look at our old UA-cam channel (:george and sav) This might give you a better idea of the different islands 😊
Brilllllliant - thanks for sharing ⛵️ 👍
