This is exactly correct. And in the act of an impeachment for the president is where the immunity idea lies. How? If the president has no immunity, why do you need an impeachment? You don't. You just indict him. Since an impeachment is necessary to further indict a president, the act of impeaching a president is the removal of that immunity!!!
Trump was already impeached for this offense. He was acquitted. Therefore any prosecution on things for January 6th are immune at best and double jeopardy at worst!

per this ruling, it is now legal for a President to stay in power as long as they like by simply declaring an official "state of emergency" and this will stay in effect until the House can impeach and remove them from power (unlikely to happen if the same party holds political majority). Now add in "Project 2025" which removes most if not all of the opposition by the justice department and other "non-elected" officials not replaced by political change and instead replacing them with political loyalists.
So now it begins...

The New York Democratic Party run courts did the same to the leading Republican Party candidate. The courts on all sides have been politicized. Bith Alvin Bragg and Laticia James ran politically motivated trials based on abosolute nonsense. The high courts decision makes it less likely that this type of stupidity will continue. Bragg was extremely creative in truning a misdemeanor into a felony and then getting 36 convictions on a payment that had already passed its statue of limitation.
