If God has truly laid on yor heart to give an offering to a ministry, do it, without expectations, God and His Blessings are NOT FOR SALE. The receiver of the offering, has to answer to God for their actions. I watched Swaggard everyday, when i was a teen. The Word is still the Word, despite the sins or sincerity of the preacher. This Tilton guy never fooled me though. He was too over the top. What is the real motive in receiving and more importantly, what is the motive in giving. God's word is very clear on giving, it is for Him to receive from us...not the other way around. It is also to be given prayerfully with praise and thanksgivings. If God has truly laid on yor heart to give an offering to a ministry, do it, without expectations, God and His Blessings are NOT FOR SALE. The receiver of the offering, has to answer to God for their actions.
We all have learned lessons from experiences...many not so good experiences I might add, and If we had only prayed first, more than likely they would have been avoided. The same goes in giving of your offerings, pray... dont act on emotions of the heart which clearly we are warned about in scripture, the heart, your heart will decieved you, for where your heart is, so will be your treasure.
