  • The Victron Cerbo gx ( with Touch 70 screen ) is the smartest bit of Victron kit for those who love data on the campervan’s DC & AC electrical system via the VRM & Venus OS. Get information from Solar mppt changers, multiplus inverters, shunt battery monitors, Ruuvitag temperature sensors and more all in one place. The VRM gives you access for remote monitoring and is the brains for the whole system.
    This is a sponsored video with @12VoltPlanetTV , I used 12volt planet as the supplier for the majority of my van build electrical equipment long before I had any association with them.

      I have a Huawei E5577 as my 4G router but that is only 2.4ghz WiFi ( and a max of only 10 connections ) and no physical ethernet port. I use the Tp-link router at the vans WiFi networks. I have the tp-link split into both bands 2.4ghz / 5ghz. The tp-link link connect to the Huawei E5577 for its own internet connect and then share that to it own WiFi ( The TP link is acting as a Wi-Fi extender ). I love the touch screen. I took me a while to realise that using the screen that combines the electrics info with the tank sensors for water and waste, you can switch the inverter from off to on or charge only without having to delve into the menus. I still don’t have wireless other than using my phone as a hotspot. Which router do you use.l? I’ve a spare data card I could use in my iPad. Also, completely off topic, what mattress do you use? I noticed how well it folds in one of your other vids. I have a bed that folds up to load my motorbike in the back, and then down again once loaded. The mattress is very comfortable but heavy to lift or bend, despite being in two pieces.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Yes, very happy with the touchscreen, been using the VRM via the phone portal for the last year and a half. Great to have a physical interface, which is not the phone to interact with.
      You’ll see in the next video, I have installed custom GUI mods, so I can also have tank sensors, temperature sensors and inverter control on the main flow screen.
      Internet wise. I have a E5577 4G router connected to tp-link WiFi router which also has physical ethernet ports.
      As for the mattress, it’s very comfortable. If you go to the Amazon store link in the description and then under one of the lists, you’ll find the model I use.

    I find Cerbo Gx of limited value since you cannot configure multiplus voltage, current with it. Other devices unless you have BT, can't do much either.
    It would be better if they allowed you to plug in VE.bus/BT dongle to multiplus. Then give you same BT controls via VEconnect as BT gives to MPPT, shunt, etc.
    You addition will cost $500+USD and is not worth it.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures

      The Multiplus ( or Quattro ) requires VE.config software from a computer to edit settings. Which can be via VE.bus to USB Mk3 dongle to interface directly or it’s can be done remotely via a Cerbo Gx connected Multiplus and VRM.
      Whilst the multiplus are complex units and setting can be very advanced. It would be nice if basic options could be done via BT.
