This is really cute! I'm going to make the advanced one even though I don't have a hamster (yet) because I want to make a pretend cage with everything pretend so they can see how desperate I really am for this hamster and how well I am going to take care of this one! I will also use it if I get a real hamster, so I'm pretty much making things for a hamster I might get in the future! :D

it is the same one. you just have to make it smaller, I have a dwarf too but she still likes it. just ask your parents for help.

You could also add a bit of padding inside of it and it will make the hamster feel more comfortable

This is a wonderful idea and will last until the hamster decides to start chewing on the string. I wonder if there's a way to keep the construction really simple but use a chain instead.

Is normal sewing thread (cotton) okay for hams? I remember that cotton is indigestible to them, or is it the type of cotton (i.e cotton wool) that's more dangerous? Also are there any types of fabric that might be unsuitable, like acrylic, wool or felt? Really want to make this for my future ham's cage so he/she has plenty to play with :)

Are these materials washable? In case the hamster pees and poops in it? Also can the hamster loosen the threading making it fall apart? This is for the sewing hammock.

I believe she used generic tan string. If you are going to do this, don't use anything with metallic or shiny bits in it, or beads. You should also make sure it's not loose or frayed!

Are cotton washclothes safe to use? My hamster's not a big chewer but I know that cotton in bedding is very dangerous so I wasn't sure about the washcloth. Help would be great, thanks!

Hello Erin! i have a question, my syrian hamster isnt really tamed but he does sit on my hand but he jumps of my hand and runs away (when im sitting with him on the couch) so now im scared and dont pick him up anymore because i know he jumps of he also escaped several times in his cage but he has a very big cage twice minimum sice he just jumps over we made a lid but he still trys to escape every way possible even when he is on my hand how do i stop this> i take good care of him so i dont understand this all my hamster i had in the past didnt do this please help me.

I just use a zip tie and pet it on his lid I have a 45 gallon fish tank we have a can that can jump up on the counter that we keep him on and we dont whant him to eat him
Both my hamsters chew, but excessively? I'm not sure. How dangerous is it to make one of these, since I tend worry to about it? I enjoy making additions to my cages but I'd prefer not to risk anything.

Dear erin i havr my syrian hamster for 3 days now and she is verry active but in the evening she ramdomly fals in sleap when shes running in here wheel than she stops and come out and randomly fals in sleep in the midlle of the cage

Can it be any string or a certain type of string. Can you use yarn for it. Thanks for this video I was looking at your old hammock video and I like this one better. I love this channel, can you do a robvoroski dwarf hamster care video like your Syrian care video. If you can't can you suggest a channel cause I am not allowed to be on a hamster forum.🐹
I suggest using twine because it might be sturdier than regular yarn but I don't know ask someone else as well
