luca ghena yes :0 Even though I suck at DIY I want to try that for mine when I get one. Except the food and water won't be diy... (maybe the water bottle but the only diy one I've seen is terrible)
For my hamster we actually made a home made cage using a new 3 leveled portable shelf then wrapped chicken wire around the 3 sides for 2 levels made a door for the 4 side and pull wood slices on the bottom edge so that the bedding will not fall out and we shredded paper as bedding then for hide out I used a yogurt container ( I placed the container upside down with the cap on and made a hole at the edge then put some "bedding" inside and lastly for the toys I took a paper towel roll made a few holes and I took flour and water mixed them up then put the flour water mix on a popsicle sticks stuck on some sunflower seeds or other treets Wow that was a lot 💤
I am planning on making a completely diy cage (bin cage, diy houses etc.) and this series is a huge help, the wheel might not be the best for me as my hamster are housed in my bedroom but the "silent" spinners aren't too silent anyway so...
+Troll Man Derp Erin has a few videos on diy bedding and I tried to most recent one with the pillowcase and it worked great. A lot of work, but it's worth it!
I just got my hamster popcorn a few days ago and this channel has helped me so much especially with the diy stuff I've all ready made him a platform house for £1.00 with lolipop sticks!!
Genius!!! I love it! You are so good. I was in a pet store awhile ago just looking around. There was a family very interested in the Robos. I told them about my sweet Robo, Clementine. They started asking me questions. With watching your channel for so long, I could answer their questions and give some good advice. I told them about your channel and they were thrilled to know that there is such a great resource for them (and all of us). Thank you so much for helping us be better parents to our babies. ☺
i wish erin can do a diy cage theme.. where she takes ALL her diy things such as hideaways food bowls wheels diy toys etc like everything has to be diy but maybe she wont do a diy cage theme soo
I know its an old video, but thank you for coming up with this. This is the cheapest way to provide a proper size wheel to the rescues that I'll be taking in
You guys can also keep the lid on and cut holes in it like the silent hamster spinner! It prevents your hamster from flinging off especially if you have a robo :)
You can put anti-slip stickers meant for the bottom of your bathtub rather than the popsicle sticks. It would be much easier to use and more comfortable for the hamster too.
Only one thing I have to say is negative but not being mean at all the Long bolt in the back that is long that you screw a nut on it’s too long because if you put it in a cage that long bolt thing It’s going to be in the way and take up some space in your hamsters cage
Use a soldering iron to make your holes. How I make my holes for my water bottles in the bin I just make sure not to do it too big and I've yet to have any trouble with a ham chewing through it or anything but I like to keep the water bottles on the outside that way I can access them without disturbing them
yes! now I can finally have a wheel that is not mesh ! I can also have a new wheel for my other hamster! ( a whole year without wheel because we don't have money laying around , but we do what we can for them)
THIS IS AMAZING! *Applause Applause* I love it! Jeez girl, you might as well make the hamster now. :P This is great! Do you think can make a DIY bed for hamsters? Haha. Like a creation to look like a bed... But for a hammy. Great vid, Erin! :D
I love your vids Erin. They've helped my hamsters so much. To make it quieter I add a lil bit of thin sticky on felt pads between the post and wheel. $dollar stores carry them in US. Even if it's a lil too thick Syrians will wear the felt down pretty easy after some time.
Turned out great ! I also cut out some cute wrapping paper in a circular shape to glue to the inside of the wheel for decorative purposes 😍❤️ love it !
You can use several washers or cut off a short tube of a plastic straw to provide some space between the wooden post and the plastic open wheel. A drop of mineral oil there at the bolt will help silence the open wheel.
I needed this!!!!. I bought a 20cm wheel for my golden hamster yesterday and noticed it is bit small and she def gonna grow a bit. Today i wanted to bring back to the store but sadly she chewed a piece off, so i think they wont accept it.
I’m going to get a hamster soon and I’m on a very low budget and my dad builds stuff so I have all the supplies I need to make these cheap crafts for my hammy 💕
For the time being, you can put some duct tape on the inside and outside of the wheel. However ,please do get a new solid wheel Cus your hamster might start to chew on the tape
Hi Erin! I saw your video and the other day, I bought my Winter White RD a 6.5" Silent spinner. Now, I am on holiday and I don't know if her back will arch or not, and the only other option was a very big one ( I think it was 12"), which i don't think will fit comfortably in her cage without hitting the side and the roof. Also, there were a few barred and meshed ones, which I know are a no-no. Should I return the wheel? or should I test it out anyway. Thanks so much, and you are sooooooo close to 100k!! Well done, J10.
Hi erin great video just a quick question sorry if it's been asked already. but doesn't the bolt sticking out so far at the back cause a danger risk to the hammy.
to make it a bit quieter, you can put extra nuts where she put the first one to give it some more spacing between the wood and the wheel. hope this helps you all. and home your hammy doesnt start a fire with it haha.
The things you put on the bottom legs of chairs and other furniture to prevent scratching and noise take one of those whatever size needed and in this case put on the wood where wheel rubs and makes that noise stop I even stuck two on the wire of my cage cuz the wheel made noise against it
Hi Erin! Amazing video! So I have a question. I use aspen shavings for all 3 of my hamsters. My question is. Can I dye the bedding using safe fruits and veggies!? I know food colouring is not safe so I thought I could use fruit. Is that ok? Would they eat it?
you should make a diy cage and fill it with diy stuff only, including wheel, bedding, toys, hideout, etc,
luca ghena yes :0
Even though I suck at DIY I want to try that for mine when I get one. Except the food and water won't be diy... (maybe the water bottle but the only diy one I've seen is terrible)
That's what I'm trying to do xD
Blossom Buddies make a water bowl. Much easier
For my hamster we actually made a home made cage using a new 3 leveled portable shelf then wrapped chicken wire around the 3 sides for 2 levels made a door for the 4 side and pull wood slices on the bottom edge so that the bedding will not fall out and we shredded paper as bedding then for hide out I used a yogurt container ( I placed the container upside down with the cap on and made a hole at the edge then put some "bedding" inside and lastly for the toys I took a paper towel roll made a few holes and I took flour and water mixed them up then put the flour water mix on a popsicle sticks stuck on some sunflower seeds or other treets
Wow that was a lot 💤
That would be brilliant !!
I am planning on making a completely diy cage (bin cage, diy houses etc.) and this series is a huge help, the wheel might not be the best for me as my hamster are housed in my bedroom but the "silent" spinners aren't too silent anyway so...
I hope that you achieve your goal!
Ok
Yes
i thought you said you got popcorn for your hamster
Genius!!! I love it! You are so good.

good idea
I know its an old video, but thank you for coming up with this. This is the cheapest way to provide a proper size wheel to the rescues that I'll be taking in
with this the best way to stop it rubbing is useing 2 bolts on the gap between the stand and wheel witch gives it more spacing and it won't run then ☺
you could cut holes in the lid and make a wodent wheel ☺
Lynn Rose Music rodent?
UmbreonXSlyveon
No I beleive its spelled Wodent
UmbreonXSylveon no its called Wodent wheel
Evelyn Rose Music she said that 😊
She said that in the video
DIY chew toys
Show done that
she did that already :)
Nora Nasser

Go outside get a stick and paint it
I think it is amazing how you find a way to make all those DIY's xx
Love how she calls popsicle sticks “lol i sticks” lol love you.
In British-English they're called lolly sticks because they're used in ice lollies. It's Americans that call them popsicles :)
You guys can also keep the lid on and cut holes in it like the silent hamster spinner! It prevents your hamster from flinging off especially if you have a robo :)
Made it to day thx it’s perfect a bit noisy but I barely sleep in my room lol
You can put anti-slip stickers meant for the bottom of your bathtub rather than the popsicle sticks. It would be much easier to use and more comfortable for the hamster too.
Great DIY video. lol I hope that July never ends because I absolutely love these videos :D.
Thank you! my Syrian hamster is getting huge!!! the big wheel I've seen are at least 60$... definitely gonna built this soon!
I tried this and it totally works! Thanks for the video
What did you use for the foot grips? If that’s a food safe container normally white craft glue wouldn’t stick to it.
Possibly hot glue? Hopefully the hamster doesnt eat it
Hi
Wow I would love to do this wheels are so expensive!
Exactly, i seen wooden one for 13euros! 🤯
Oh my gosh, I KNOW!! Where I live, the hamster wheels cost more than the hamsters themselves. 🤨
@@iMirandaJae same I got my hamster for $15 and his wheel was $30, 2x the amount of the hamster 🤦🏻♀️
@@ThatAnimalHouse I got a storage bin and turned it into a large cage for only $15. So the wheel will cost more than the cage! My hamsters were free
@@austinhernandez2716 yeah but where I live making a bin cage is like R$400 and buying a regular 52 gallon tank is only R$ 285 😂
Only one thing I have to say is negative but not being mean at all the Long bolt in the back that is long that you screw a nut on it’s too long because if you put it in a cage that long bolt thing It’s going to be in the way and take up some space in your hamsters cage

WOW this was very impressive! and po was loving it!♡ great job Erin😀
Once again another creative video Erin ! I applaud you for your effort and quality in your videos! Have a good day!
yes! now I can finally have a wheel that is not mesh ! I can also have a new wheel for my other hamster! ( a whole year without wheel because we don't have money laying around , but we do what we can for them)
this is fantastic. great tutorial Erin!
like a bunk bed maybe??
Jenna Farmer she did make a bed but I had 4 hamsters and they all loved each other and crammed in the same bed it was so cute!
Hammy Forever you
Madison M Vanillahamham has a video for that if you want
I know this is irrelevant but she used to breed hamsters so she kind of did make the hamster... lol
Gosh I love this Channel. Keep up the good work !
I love your vids Erin. They've helped my hamsters so much. To make it quieter I add a lil bit of thin sticky on felt pads between the post and wheel. $dollar stores carry them in US. Even if it's a lil too thick Syrians will wear the felt down pretty easy after some time.

Where i live they only sell wheels NO WHERE close suitable enough for a Syrian hamster, so I'm going to make this for my hammy.
wow such a creative idea
The best open wheel. Made one myself attached to the plastic bin :). Thanks
So creative!! I might just try this ;) And oh my goodness you are almost at 100k!! Congrats!! I hope you reach it soon!!
Could u plz do a diy volcano where it's a small hill and then at the top there's a hole for the food to go in
Just use the moon crater diy and switch it up a bit.
+Dream Bossong good idea thank you
Clorox Bleach dude I see you everywhere it's freaking werid
Clorox Bleach
Why are you everwhere?
its not that hard to do it yourself........
I just watched this video a few days ago and i did it and it's work thank you
I just really enjoy your videos! You must really love your hamsters 🥰
You can use several washers or cut off a short tube of a plastic straw to provide some space between the wooden post and the plastic open wheel. A drop of mineral oil there at the bolt will help silence the open wheel.
My hamster love your DIY .. TANKS YOU :)
did it! I'm amazed
I made it but its not running
You can also put a washer after the plastic
Hi Erin, may I ask your thoughts on hamster balls? Is it healthy for the hamster or should I avoid using them?
WOW U ARE AMAZING IDK HIW U COME UP WITH THESE AMAZING IDEAS!! I love u soooo much!!
I LOVE your channel
Can you make a food bowl themed around a forest? Or just a cool food bowl please!
She made a crater one...
She has made a food bowl already x
You could just repaint her diy food bowl
I rlly love your videos and I'm planning on watching all of them
Me too.
I’m definitely makin this.
"all you have to do is press a button' me; dang
XD
same diy is not my thing no matter how small I make a mess of it. 😂
What a fun craft project for me and my granddaughters!
I just made this ,tank you so much ❤️
Neatly explained dear
Thank u for the info
Very symple n easy for understanding, great , thank you
Super expectacular desde Colombia gracias un abrazo
That is so cool u should do a diy hamster cage theme and use the diy wheel and diy houses
That's really good :3 super creative .
why are you laughing when you say NUTS . HAHA LOVEYOU ERIN BEEN WATHING YOU SINCE DAY 1. :)
Glue some felt strips onto the wood support where the wood meets plastic to cut down the noise.
Thanks for sharing this video Erin!!!
a little tip, for the wheel,u can use hotglue to make the feet things instead of lolly sticks
You could but if your hamster is a chewer I don't suggest it.
*just a question* is it safe to have the edges like that??
What do you mean?
Do i have to smooth the edges?
Sand*
Does the plastic wear down? I wonder if a bearing like for a skate wheel would prevent that
Thx for your amazing ideas
Totally making this! Thank you!!!
its so cute!
Tus ideas son fantásticas, saludos desde colombia :)
Very creative!!👍🏽👍🏽
I needed this!!!!. I bought a 20cm wheel for my golden hamster yesterday and noticed it is bit small and she def gonna grow a bit. Today i wanted to bring back to the store but sadly she chewed a piece off, so i think they wont accept it.
Thanks erin i needed one of these:)
could you glue the bottom of the stand together or would it be too flimsy? xxx
Thanks for making DIY videos. I am planing on getting a hamster but I don't want to spend a lot of money
Hi Erin, could you tell me what type of wood to use?
Clever idea!
I’m going to get a hamster soon and I’m on a very low budget and my dad builds stuff so I have all the supplies I need to make these cheap crafts for my hammy 💕
you could probably make a saucer wheel out of the lid too if you wanted your hamster to have both
Hey Erin I wonder if you can make a bed for a hamster since I don't know if the little guys will like that
I'm sure you could stop the scraping sound if you just added another bolt where you put the first one to help it stick out a bit from the wood. 😍
How would you go about fixing a wire wheel? Like covering the base?
For the time being, you can put some duct tape on the inside and outside of the wheel. However ,please do get a new solid wheel Cus your hamster might start to chew on the tape
Hot glue gun or super glue with pieces of cardboard. Cardboard has more padding than tape.
Awesome !!! How do you come up with this stuff!😃
Thanks so much, and you are sooooooo close to 100k!! Well done,
J10.
A 6.5 inch wheel for a dwarf is a good size. There is no need to worry about his/her back arching. :)
Thank you for the advice!
+Jetstream 10 No problem :D
+Jetstream 10 if it does arch you can get the wire/mesh ones and cover them with tape or paper
+Abdullah Bhatti but I am on holiday, so I wouldn't be able to get it anyway once I got home.
I did it and it was so cool, thanks a lot 😀💯
you're amazing!
would this work without the stand? Could i attatch it to the side of the cage instead
Hi erin great video just a quick question sorry if it's been asked already. but doesn't the bolt sticking out so far at the back cause a danger risk to the hammy.
Not at all but you don't have to use one that big that just happened to be the size I had on hand :)
Thanks :)
to make it a bit quieter, you can put extra nuts where she put the first one to give it some more spacing between the wood and the wheel. hope this helps you all. and home your hammy doesnt start a fire with it haha.
Hi Erin, is it possible to make a DIY hamster cupcake climbing toy? Like, with sprinkles for added grip? Like if you agree!
What do I use to put on the wheel itself where he runs? Wouldn't he just slide off
So cool!
great idea erin! :)
Can you do a previous pet video in the future?
This is amazing !!!!!!! :) ☺️
Wow thx this is awesome
This was so helpful thank you 🤗
I know this sounds crazy but could you make a big one and use it for a pet squirrel?
Who watched this but never done it😂
I don’t even own a hammy lol
Kianny Marie same
Looks like Potassium is a fan of it! ☺
The things you put on the bottom legs of chairs and other furniture to prevent scratching and noise take one of those whatever size needed and in this case put on the wood where wheel rubs and makes that noise stop I even stuck two on the wire of my cage cuz the wheel made noise against it
Thanks for this! Amazing
You can skip the stand and just make it attached to the cage
You can but most people don't use barred cages any more so the stand is useful for other cage types :)
Hi Erin! Amazing video! So I have a question. I use aspen shavings for all 3 of my hamsters. My question is. Can I dye the bedding using safe fruits and veggies!? I know food colouring is not safe so I thought I could use fruit. Is that ok? Would they eat it?
This makes about as much sense as dying your toilet paper. You get the award for dumbest thing I've read today!
You could probably put a few washers between the wood, and the nut next to the bolt. I think that would make it quieter🤔
