- Today I am going to show how I made these post-apocalyptic dioramas of a sunken city. These are a nice basic build, perfect for those wanting to get their feet wet with dioramas. These are based on a build for the channel Tested, which I will link below.

I found the PERFECT mould for the resin, look up "Cube Silicone Mold Conjoint Combine Molds" on eBay. the outer cubes are an absolute PERFECT fit for these geocraper models so you don't have to mess around for ages making your own box!
Oh man, that is a game changer...you have spared me many future hours of cursing and screaming.
Still liking comments from a 2-year-old video what a great guy
Glad to see another video of your man - love the channel!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
I finally had a chance to watch this and it was well worth the wait! The idea is very cool and you did a great job of making them. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching, John!
This is amazing.
Thanks!
Very very nice!
Thanks for watching!
That's so cool
Thanks!
I like it.
Really nice stuff; a lot of the tips here can also be applied for modelling battle damage on these skyscraper models (or similar small scale terrain).
My only critique would that it may have been more in scale to basically take the seaform tree and use the small branching sections as individual trees, rather than the whole end, as the current trees on the models look absolutely massive, but then that might just have been the scale you wanted.
Yeah the trees definitely break the scale (they were even larger at one point but I had to scale it back). I was using out of scale sharks and whales swimming around the building, so thought I would go a bit fantastical on the trees as well. Thanks for watching!
Sweet! I really want to make one of these for my desk...
On an a semi related note, do you have painted up 40k terrain for kill team? Those Nurgle dudes with the water effect are pretty damn awesome and I was wondering If you'd done a terrain piece in a similar fashion.
Thanks! Funny you mention it, I am working on kill team terrain right now with a nurgle ruin in the works.
Do you have a list of materials? I'm going to try to make my first diorama but am not sure what resin to buy, or how to make a mold or what materials to use etc. I have a geocraper on the way from japan.
Have a Question Regarding the water material. A year back you had the moveable River videos in which you use a clear caulk, and since then it seems you've been using the two part resin for your other projects (this and the plauge marines).
My question is if the reason for less videos with the clear caulk is due to an over time issue you found with it? Or is it that for application on the bases and dioramas, the caulk is not that great to work with compared to the resin? Though I'll probably give another reach watch if You explained the reason in that older video.
I like the caulk for flexible terrain and the resin for stationary pieces. I think the resin looks better but the caulk allows for rivers to be draped over hills, which is awesome. My table often uses a mixture of both.
May i know how much oz epoxy resin you are mixing together...
Equal amounts of I believe about 2oz of hardener and 2 oz of resin
Hi! NIce vid! Wich whale did u use?
Thanks, I believe I just searched for tiny plastic animals on Amazon. You could also search for ho scale animals from model train miniatures.
Do you have hobbytown where you live? It's a hobby store. Their cyanoacrylate glue is much cheaper and in bigger bottles than loctite. Great job on the diorama mate. :)
I keep telling myself to stop buying that loctite stuff...and yet I keep coming back. I'll have to look around for a hobbytown, thanks!
@@RedBeardBaron of course man! :) If you need me to send you some I can always do that too!
room temperature is a bit of a misnomer, its the temperature of whatever room you are in
how about wet sanding the resin?
You could definitely wet sand it if you feel it needs it with 1000 and 2000 grit. It is a pretty time consuming process and didn’t feel these especially needed it. Thanks for watching!
