You find Russian prepositions of time quite challenging? Then watch this video and you’ll know how to say BEFORE, DURING and AFTER with time expressions in Russian. There are several different ways to translate these prepositions into Russian: ДО and ПЕРЕД, ВО ВРЕМЯ and В ТЕЧЕНИЕ, ПОСЛЕ and ЧЕРЕЗ, but which one is better to use and when?

@@krzysztofkaplinski8603 For a Slav it is much better learning pan Slavic languages just from speaking with people of that language ,rather than doing it online.
Those teachers are trying to be too grammatically correct, which gets in a way of two Slavs understanding each other .
With example of pered , which might be confusing for a Pole at first, but there's a close preposition in Polish which is called "przed" ( "rz" is an alternative way of saying R ) , so basically the word is "pred" which is also a Russian word, though it is used less frequently. "пред" (pred) means "right in front" while "перед"pered just "front" or " in front" as you can see there's not much difference between pered and pred. Like 99% of the words are the same for both languages, they just sometimes use specific letters or different ending , or accentuate a different vowel etc. Which is ofcourse at times confusing, but having two Slavs talking to each other, will make you learn and understand the language much quicker, rather than "studying it by the book".
