Watch me move from a 1100 square foot house with a 500 square foot garage on a third of an acre into a 5 x 10 storage unit. From there I will live in my 2003 Honda Element.

@@NinthElement no I admire you but my life has majorly changed in the last 3 years. Lost my husband and my oldest son. After losing my home 9 years ago and having to start over. I’m thinking tiny house or van . Need to live in the present.
This is fantastic Mindy. I am just waiting on the right vehicle. Downsized but feel depending on rig I end up with will need to downsize more. Just going to be living off early retirement, didn't have a home to sell. I'm sure that's going to give you more opportunities than myself but I'm not going to let that stop me. I don't need much, a chair, good hiking boots and my dog and cat and a little food and I'll be great. Love your new build out. Hope to see you on the road someday soon. Im sure Jaylena and Isaac will miss you while you're traveling but you need to do this for you. Sending vibes of Blessings and Love for your journey and safety.

Your home base & property was so nice! I loved the deer family that came to visit! I know it's freeing to let go but also a little sad! We went from 1778 sq ft home to 806 sq ft. I love the smaller home! It really took some work to downsize but well worth it.
Completely not sad at all. Life changes, so you have to change with it to be comfortable. I am very happy and healthy and most of all I am FREE! Cheers!

$500? I get on my roof every fall, clean my gutters, knock off the moss, and clean my chimney, along with clearing the ivy and blackberries from the drainage culvert behind my house. It's heartening to see another woman willing to save money by doing it herself!
It's amazing how much we can accumulate over the years, isn't it? When we were facing evacuation due to fire last year, I found it a challenge to determine what to take and what to leave behind, I had so much crap. I found myself almost hoping that I would return to rubble so I wouldn't have to deal with it! Stuff does begin to own you after awhile! And in the end, it's just stuff.

I packed some papers, had camping food on board, and thought "if it burns, I won't have to move it". It really does own us...but...it is such lovely stuff.

What a wonderful video, Mindy ❤️. I actually started feeling sad as if I were the one moving, lol. OMYGOSH, are you RIGHT about start purging now … I THOUGHT I was a minimalist until I realized I have 3 dresser drawers full of old cheer t-shirts from when I coached (not since I had to step down because of CA) … Time for me to get rid of stuff too.

I've been planning to put my property on the market even before covid to downsize, practice minimalism, and travel, travel, travel. Then covid came and it became my #1 excuse for doing nothing and other lame excuses. The only advantage of the delay is that my property value is now much higher here in Southern Cali. To be very honest, I have been working on this since 2015. I then experienced 9 deaths in my family over 6 years, so my progress came to a complete stop. Starting my UA-cam channel, sharing my experience with you has helped to keep me going and accountable. I don't know how the rest of my story unfolds from here, so this should be a fun ride. What I can say here to you today after one year on the road living out of my 2003 Honda Element and getting rid of my house and most of my stuff...I do not regret a single decision. I am the happiest I have been since my 30's, and I would do it all over again. Life is to be lived, not a dream in the future. Much love from the road, Cheers!

We downsized 3 years ago to a duplex in a retirement community. We camp in our teardrop during the fall, summer and spring. I continue to downsize the items in my house. I am so happy for you!!! I traveled for a living quite a bit, during my working life. It was very exciting back in the day. I did not travel, but did move into an RV for 3 1/2 yrs, living in an RV park. I will say, the RV folks were so much fun. I am guess very much like van lifers and bus life folks. Enjoy the adventure!!!

B3 start purging every day. I started majorly in January 2021. I had a medium sized uhaul box by the front door, and everyday I put things in it. Every week or two I would take it off to different charitable donations. I still had a lot of purging to do right down to the last 20 minutes in my house, that was stressful. Thanks for being here. I know exactly what this was all about, I did the purge and sell of a lot I owned and moved from a large three bedroom two story colonial in Massachusetts into a 900 square ft home in Florida. It was such a freeing experience and I have a storage unit your same size up North but am working on getting things little by little out of there!! God bless you on your journey!!
What a liberating experience. We need to share these stories so that people don't become trapped in their homes. There is so much stuff in garages, storage units and houses that can be shared out in communities that people actually need and can use right now. I met the most wonderful people downsizing my house, and it felt so good to share what I no longer needed with people that could use and love it. That was payment, and a gift to me. Cheers!

Example hadnt saw a person in years there grandson had been hurt bad their truck broke down in comes another friends son between 3 of us and 2 firefighters we were able to get him off and on way to daughter. We grilled out each night steak. chicken had great campfire and conversation had saw each other in 10 years friend s true freinds last a lifetime. Yes they were old miltary but people need people
