Damn, of course I forgot to add a few mini-episodes and one of the latest ones to the video. You can take a look here: ua-cam.com/video/VrkmQqdw2LQ/v-deo.html Other episodes and guides in the playlist (always in the video description). I'm a sorry that the episodes are not in chronological order which would make better sense - I put the individual episodes together as I recorded them for YT. And there are a several things I could have done differently or better. Maybe next time? This document is more about how I started and developed this project over time . I hope this will be at least a little inspiration for our fellow beginner world builders, artists, fantasy and history fans. :) Also thank you so much for watching and all your support. You make me very happy. Love you all :)
Good to see others doing it too! Nice map, really dig the style and creature the designs! ...Mine has been in the works for the past 10+ years... got really stuck on ancient history, spent the last 5 years building the history/mythology backwards, now I'm turning it around to flesh things out in chronological order...
Hello my fellow world builder! I'm glad you liked this video and the character designs. I am very happy to read that you are also working on your project! Would it be possible to learn more about your work? I also got stuck with the development several times because I was continuously working on the whole history, but what helped me? - to go back to the very beginning and gradually build the lore on the already existing ideas. :)
I'm much like you for years I've been building a world up in my head, while I've drawn maps and written some paragraphs describing most factions, races, history and religions, made several family trees about important dynasties, a small unfinished bestiary of some of the more fantastical creatures that inhabit my worlds, described how magic and the divine and demonic work I've never actually sat down and complied any major works about it, I originally drew inspiration weirdly enough from Chivalry 1 which I played religiously when I was a kid I wanted to give my own head canon as to who these blue and red knights were and why they were fighting, I eventually remade it all into something more akin to our history and mythos, influenced with Warhammer, Conan, Tolkien's work, ASOIF, Lovecraft and the Witcher (especially in regards to creature design), I've added to it over the years and now, after viewing this I'm inspired to have a go at writing up a comprehensive, abridged history detailing from Creation when Gods and giants walked the earth, and eldritch races built vast, dark cities to the more gunpowder smoke filled, bustling Renaissance inspired era of the worlds modern day, where new empires rise, old powers reach their twilight and far off lands are explored. You've really helped me out with taking my crazy, daydreams and written ramblings into the next level, thank you so much! I can't wait to digest more of this fascinating world you've crafted to help motivate and inspire me!
Amazing work! I like the mixture of greek and asian or other ancient civilization influences in some of the helmets and I love the prehistoric feel creatures. I am too a huge fan of both fantasy and prehistoric creatures, so I'm so hyped to see how more this world building has to offer. Keep it up !
My friend! It's been some time, I'm glad to see that you've kept adding to this project of yours. This is exactly the type of video I was wanting, to get to know this world more. Keep up the amazing work my friend!
Yo, my Megabro! Thank you for still being with me for such a long time and enjoying these lore, illustrations and history updates from the unknown world. :)
Dude, thank you. That is my biggest dream! Imagine a mini-series, with each story from an unknown world as one episode (from fantasy prehistory to the early middle ages), which would always end each time with a huge battle. :D ...but that's really just a dream.

Bro you’re work looks really good. You’ve done incredible with the illustrations. How did you come to create your map? It’s beautiful. Definitely keep it up. I’ll be subscribing for more updates 👍🏼
Thanks bro and welcome! I am very glad that you like the illustrations and the map. Just making the map was one of the hardest thing for me because I have no experience in making maps. I originally drew the maps by hand and colored them with watercolors. As for the digital one, it is not yet the final form (the cities and other descriptions are missing), but I basically drew it as an illustration, then added various ornaments and finished the texts in photoshop. Here is how I made that map: ua-cam.com/video/4bPDuPhMnbk/v-deo.html And here is the painting process for the newer map: ua-cam.com/video/T_hyft3VqDQ/v-deo.html Hope it helps! :)

Damn those maps are gorgeous. Any chance of you making a video with some tips for fellow mapmakers?
The background music is so loud that its distracting and a bit annoying.

The plains of Ida is the area surrounding Asgard ;)
Oh I didn't know that! :)
I chose the name Ída after the old Germanic female name Ida, which can be translated as "prosperous".
