Darren is quickly becoming one of my favourite designers. He seems like he has great ideas for any style, any budget. Plus he's really engaging to watch, and he's great at getting the other designers to talk. More of this guy!
Kudos to all of them creating something different than we normally see. I'm into the minimalist style so they were all a bit too busy for me. I did love Darren's velvet carpet, curved backdrop, and platform. Glass doors are a must for me in a closet that high-end.
Surprisingly, I think Chiara’s is my favorite! It feels very European and somewhat timeless in a vintage way?? I would probably want a full length mirror but perhaps it’s on the fourth wall lol Also, Darren’s is very much not my taste but I am obsessed with the lighting. He created a beautiful ambiance in that space!
I love Darren's the most, he nailed the shapes in the room and every aspect. I would take the room as it is except go with a more rich gold hinted cream colour for the doors and ceiling because I love lush like that. 🙂
As much as I love these designs, I sometimes am just not veryyyy sure of the scale of things. In a 10'x16' room, you realistically cannot flank either sides by shelving, have a chaise lounge sitting horizontally in the middle AND have circulation space around it. Similarly, to have the front wall curved would take up a significant amount of space from the room, especially if you want to add storage on top the curves like Darren did, add to it the platform and the curved ceiling- most walk ins just don't have that kind of height available. I know this series is supposed to just be a creative thing and I'm not trying to hate here, just the technicality of it all had been bugging me a little and I wanted to know if I was the only one who noticed these little things.
Thank you A D! Another idea could be a handleless cabinet for a secret safe! And another idea is to put a hook somewhere for a jacket or a total outfit to stop wrinkles! There is usually a hook on the door in bathroom. Thanks. Righteousness. Cocoon.Unknown.Col.311.
Of course, so much is just a matter of taste when you're looking at the work of great professional designers, but I consistenly prefer Darren Jett's super-cool, hip, elegant designs. Too bad I'll never have the money to afford him or even a few square feet of his rooms. Maybe if I win the lottery? But it's okay! He still inspires me!
I have to say that although Jenny´s designs always seem bland during the making process, in the end, and once viewed from a global perspective, the final result ends up being classy, retro, and sophisticated!
I like Jenny’s most, but not a big fan of the Stone for everything. I thought I like where Darren’s design in the beginning is going, but like in other videos it turns super busy and exaggerated at the end, but I like how he transforms the space Architecturally, but not the finishing though.
Love Jenny’s. Chiara’s is probably the one I would buy and change the hardware, vanity skirt, and add a full length mirror and open shoe storage. The wallpaper is gorgeous and the cabinetry a great compliment to it. I think Chiara always creates the best base architecturally, but the finishes can be too uptight.
Is upspeak the way all "cool" designer should do? I thought it is something you should avoid because you sound like teen or a Valley girl. Also I would like to understand if the interior designer I work with is asking me a question or they are giving me ideas clearly. Anyways, Darren always created "rich" looking places, generally I choose his version but this time the cabinet looks like a Vegas hotel lobby :) This time I liked Jenny's version a little bit more than the other ones, especially the modern chandelier she has. Overall, none of the designs attracts me because the walk in closets should be as plain as they can. I'm already feel overwhelmed how crowded the walk in closets look with open shelves that you can see all your shoes, bags and things. As a minimal person with "less is more" motto, I personally don't like them, instead I like French style hidden closets that look like stylish walls.
I really like how Darren takes full advantage of no budget, no client. He always seems to push his spaces so far! Jenny and Chiara's designs on the other hand always seem so incredibly safe. I don't think they need to go big in order to elevate their designs, but I do wish they would take advantage of the openness of the design brief. It always feels like they don't play with the space or try to modify it too much and their choices always feel a bit more amateur to me compared to Darren's.
Yeah, hearing their initial concepts for the back of the room illustrated this difference in vision: he was like, "I'm gonna change the back wall and ceiling structure!" The next was like, "I'll add wallpaper" and the third was just changing the paint.
He definitely always goes big and literally creates something that matches the prompt of no limitations. While he did envision a client this time, it's still definitely the most change from the original picture. I think the rest of the designers all more or less still consider what's practical. I know if I were a designer, I can never disregard what's practical. But maybe because I personally don't have the wealth for me to not care about that and only about what I like or what looks good 😅
What your seeing might be Darren’s “sucker for excess” traits. As far as taking advantage of $ I imagine that shipping in that stone and then using it in nearly all of the room might cost a pretty penny. As far as taking advantage of no client, what client has a closet this size without a full length mirror? I think these designers are all probably pushing the envelope in their own ways. Could you also just be a sucker for excess?
@@brittanyt729 That's a fair observation, I personally wouldn't hire Darren to design any of my spaces because I'm not really into lux design. So, I don't think I qualify as a "sucker for excess". My main issues with Jenny and Chiara stem from design principles. They did nothing with the ceilings, they did nothing with floor elevation, and their closets were lackluster at best (to be fair to Jenny, she definitely had more visual interest than Chiara). These are basic things that help push and change the space and neither of them took advantage of that. I also don't think that Jenny is taking advantage of "no budget" just because of the expensive material. You could get a cheaper dupe and have the same effect, whereas Darren's space is the only one you wouldn't be able to recreate on a budget and that's kind of my point. I'm not knocking the other designers because of their subdued styles. If anything I gravitate to Chiara's aesthetic, it was just disappointing to see what she did with it.
Chiara's closet reminds me of horror movie scenes, Jenny's closet reminds me of the one you would find in a high-end mall, and Darren's closet probably belongs to the Kardashians. Overall, everyone did a fantastic job. Love all of them and the vibe they all brought to the space.
I'm an architecture student and in every video I always adore Darren's design!! I think what differs his style from the others is he transforms a space first with architectural elements and then finishes it by adding color, texture etc. Such a great inspiration to watch his design process!
Darren's walk-in closet is for Broadway royalty turned widow that lives her best live with her pink Pomeranian Chiara closet is a best selling essayist that specializes in art and culture commentary and is a romantic at heart Jenny's closet is a fashion forward businesswoman in a creative field that really takes pleasure in the little things in life, like the feel of a cashmere coat against a silk slip
Darren took the room to another dimension with the way he changed the entire shape of the room by changing the shape of the ceiling, & then adding the texture to it. He then took it to another level by adding further dimension with the the "stage" & multi mirrors. The added footlights were another perfect touch! The vanity was Gorgeous. However, I wouldn't have picked those style side sconces, they didn't fit the rest of the decor, in my opinion. I would have wanted them to be more modern, like the vanity chair. The mix of the light & dark colors added even more depth & dimension, & the lighting in the clothing cabinets were beautiful & really highlighted everything spectacularly. I might have wanted him to add small seating area, just Incase you wanted another place to sit besides the vanity, or if by chance, you had a friend over. Hands down, Darrens' design was The Best!!!
Darren could decorate my house any day. When i get rich I'm calling him. 😂 I'd just tell him to design wherever then after i see it I'll tell him to make it masculine. His designs are always the most luxurious. I wouldn't change anything in this closet except the color scheme and the vanity would be a 3 sided full length mirrors
I did not know Darren, but after 2 videos, I became obsessed! He is such an artist. He creates and defines the spaces like no one can. The other designers are playing it safe and are designs that you can almost create on your own. But Darren, he creates something totally new, unexpected, charming... out of nowhere. Kudos!!!
DARREN is the best! Each time a girl dresses it should be fun prior to going out in public. The mirror stage is perfect - the setting reminds me of trying on a wedding dress or prom dress an exciting experience that should be enjoyed each and everyday! Especially if she owns designer clothes. V🌹
Chiara: I like it! It’s giving rich woman living in Paris. Especially with that chaise and the skirted vanity. I also love the wallpaper and that carpet is *chef’s kiss*. My only thing is this is a room where you get dressed in the morning…how are you gonna look at your outfit?? A full length mirror is vital. Jenny: I actually don’t have any negatives! This is a nice space and it’s the most modern out of all the designs. I love the stone, the carpet, the blush pink and forest green color scheme, it all works so well together. Also this is kind of an unpopular opinion but I’m obsessed with bouclé furniture so I really appreciate that little bench, chaise, whatever it is haha. Darren. Wow. I have no notes. This is impeccable. It’s glamorous, it’s campy, it’s over the top and extravagant. This is the closet all of us little girls growing up in the 90s and 2000s dreamed of having. Darren is an absolute icon. We stan.
I honestly don't get interior design. I must not because I think all three are kind of ugly. This is NOTHING against the designers, and only an issue with me. They look like walk in closets from the 50's 60's and 80's. the first two feel bland and the third, a bit tacky. I obviously know nothing about interior design. I get that they would be someones taste, but they are so far off from my own that it doesn't click.
I am still an architecture student so my opinion may change or not be fully correct, but I feel like they all had strong colors and strong themes (which isn't a bad thing if it was another room), but this is a walk in closet and walk in closets should have very neutral colors so they won't take away from whatever you're wearing and give you a clear idea of what it looks like without having the background's influence on it. also I think rooms' colors and the materials used are pretty loud which I think should be the opposite since walk in closets tend to get messy when picking an outfit, so thats another thing. I would've went with some neutral colors and materials that blend into each other and that would make the the room look stunning while not taking away from the clothes that are going to be worn. I also would've removed the doors on the closets because having to open and close the doors every time (which there are plenty of) would bother me, it saves a bunch of time and shows you the many options you have (because sometimes when I domnt see my clothes right in front of me I forget they exist). this is all I have to say, and I'm a big fan of Darren Jetts and their projects.
I like your logic of the use of a walk in closet. I'm with you on all you said. Also, it needs a standing mirror (someone forgot) and it was enough space to make like an island so whoever is using it could use it with her girlies and do make up.
Closets are a creative space. A fun place. It can and should be whatever you like. There are no rules. There is nothing bad about a pink closet or color. It can actually be very inspiring and productive. And I think it’s safe to say that the interior designers came up with these designs with an imaginary fashion loving client in mind, someone creative.
I'm with you! Just reading what you describe calms my nerves and I would pick your design concept sight unseen over anything that was presented in the video.
Well I can't really say I like any of these, maybe because I don't like pink or I'm not very girly because I would have loved to see something darker and elegant, what some may describe as manly I guess, dark colors, leather etc.
Women's designs were terrible. camouflage in woman's walkin closet? Wall paper, inside of the closets and the vanity table's skirts are same pattern? Geez. Their chandelier choice were also really bad. Darrin's design was the best choice but I would use lighter colors.
My favorites (in LOVE order): Darren - YES!!! That mirrored alcove at the end of the room is everything ❣️❣️❣️ While I LOVE the steel chair, I don’t love the subdued lighting for doing hair & makeup. Jenny is a strong LIKE - the ribbed glass is KILLER and I would love to replace Darren’s fabric doors with it❣️ There is nothing about Chiara’s design that appeals to me.
Hmm, this time, I'm not a fan of any of them. Normally, I'm obsessed with Darren's projects, but I feel like this is too much for me. Jenny's project is surprisingly good, I liked most elements. I would just hope to see more enthusiasm coming from her. Chiara's is just not my favourite, grandma's style that wouldn't work well in a modern space.
Like everyone else here I think Darren’s space is amazing, but I also really like what Chiara did. Her spaces always feel very comforting to me- like a warm hug. They may not be the most ambitious, but every time she designs a space I can’t help but be reminded of my grandmother’s home (in a good way).
I'm sorry but they are all so fussy, so old fashioned and out of touch with modern day needs that it makes me wonder who on earth their clients are... maybe all billionaires with more money than they know what to do with.... ''somewhere to put your FURS''? Sigh.
Darren is serving as ALWAYS. I really expected more from Chiara, she's got such a nice and cozy style full of detail, the closet felt so flat in the end. Anyway I love how different these are. Awesome!
I love the design of jenny very minimalist bcuz i dont like wallpaper and flashy mirror i love the color overall 100000000/100 if i have a house that gonna look of my wall in closet
Agree! Some shelf space for some gorgeous perfume would have been useful & pretty. Opportunity missed since perfume is often the finishing touch of getting ready.
@J Pop My 25 bottles of perfume agree with you lol..I missed that as well, so I'd be looking at something like that for my future reno. Thank you for the idea🙏
So… the brief was kinda unlimited and blank… nothing about the “client” and well, lots of folks featuring AD don’t share closet’s✌️… also men married or not, can like pink closets..
I'll rank them according to my opinion... 1st Darren's. The space is so fantastically designed. The pink vibes through out the closet space is really beautiful. I love how all the elements blend in together. The space has such an oomph factor to it. The lighting, stage, the arched wall of mirrors and the ceiling blend so well. 2nd Chiara's and Jenny's. The spaces are beautiful. The closet space blends in well with the floor. The only thing I found missing in Chiara's space would be a full length mirror. Otherwise, Chiara's space does give a bit of vintage vibe (which I think what she was aiming for). For Jenny the color palette has been better than the previous video🎉. The flooring could have been a bit different (green but a different texture maybe). The lighting could have been improved in both of their designs. Overall, all of them really had good designs🎉🎉 Thanks for the video!!
Love Darren's and Jenny's. Chiaras just seemed like the furnishings were too small love Darren's staging there vibe and the time period and style he chose
when i first saw how chiara started i was a bit skeptical but the finished product, i definitely liked hers the best . so much sophistication without even trying it feels like
"I would love to do something that's a little bit more theatrical, that has a bit of drama, a little bit of flare." ~ Darren Jett 's understatement cracks me up.
I like all three of these walk-in closets design. 😍🤩👍🏻 They are very interesting and feminine, so as a woman I am delighted with them. Only this one lacks a large mirror. Such a large walk-in closets without a large mirror is not complete. 🤔
A walk in closet is absolutely nothing I need in my life. But if I ever would consider one, I would go for Darrens design. Jennys was also nice although I did not like the chandelier. Chiaras was boring and felt claustrophobic. And I can not understand the lack of a full size mirror. When there is no space for such a mirror in a walk in closet, where then?
I love darren, but this time not so much. Like a Flamingo bar Mitzvah! The dead women is just dead. This time the denim girl (also dead) did it the best!
I am gonna be an as*hole and say it: that Natura Morta wallpaper is the most horrible thing i ever saw. You could design the most beautiful space and that will ruin it.
The only thing i would change in darrens is removing the island and using a daybed or some other furniture in the center. Or better yet just leave it empty and let the room speak for itself
Well, it’s meant to be a woman’s wardrobe so I guess I cannot be like 10/10 for someone… but from what I see as a suggestion for example for my wive’s walk-in wardrobe in our house I would say: Darren 13:57 *7/10* Darren began very nice but at the end… he lost it! Too much colour, too much information, metallic surfaces, extravagant details, shapes etc… Mhhh no! It could have ended much better! Chiara 13:36 *6/10* Not very much. I prefer the warm environment and much calmer atmosphere but it’s not that “inspiring”… it’s to like basic… I don’t like the details like the curtains in the cabinets… Good but not that good. Jenny 13:48 *5/10* Mhhh… no. It’s not for my taste. I cannot point exactly what I don’t like but… I don’t like the general view of the room.

Darren. Wow. I have no notes. This is impeccable. It’s glamorous, it’s campy, it’s over the top and extravagant. This is the closet all of us little girls growing up in the 90s and 2000s dreamed of having. Darren is an absolute icon. We stan.
very old look...
I love Darren’s design😍😍 obsessed with a girlie walk in closet
It's sensational. It's not what I'd want for myself, but I wanna be besties with the person this is for. 😂
Y’all should do a series where international interior designers come from various areas of the world and design a space!
I'm so glad Darren was involved, because otherwise... YAAAAWNNNN.
Women's designs were terrible. camouflage in woman's walkin closet? Wall paper, inside of the closets and the vanity table's skirts are same pattern? Geez. Their chandelier choice were also really bad. Darrin's design was the best choice but I would use lighter colors.
Very interesting seeing their design choices. None of them quite speak to me, but they all feel like spaces that would be lovely to be in.
Such a great concept - I look forward to each and every one of these "3 Designer" videos.
This time Jenny's my favourite. However, none of them blew me away.
Exactly what I thought
None of the designers here have ever blown me away tbh
Yep
My exact comment. Jenny’s feels like a feminine Gucci store. But they didn’t drastically change the space which I guess is fine
agree
Eu amo tanto o Darren que ele pensa numas coisas que são absolutamente incríveis e ele traz todo um conceito de cinema com arte que eu adoro.
Jenny Kaplan redeemed herself! de Rege was giving the yellow wallpaper for me
Like everyone else here I think Darren’s space is amazing, but I also really like what Chiara did. Her spaces always feel very comforting to me- like a warm hug. They may not be the most ambitious, but every time she designs a space I can’t help but be reminded of my grandmother’s home (in a good way).
I wouldn't pick Chiara's actual design, but I'd definitely pick the vibe of it over the others
I agree, I like that she she always stays within her own style
Gosh.. to me it's actually unsettling
Chiara looks almost like a vintage closet and Jenny is understated elegance
I'm sorry but they are all so fussy, so old fashioned and out of touch with modern day needs that it makes me wonder who on earth their clients are... maybe all billionaires with more money than they know what to do with.... ''somewhere to put your FURS''? Sigh.
Love this series, particularly Darren!
Darren has such a potent sense of whimsy, magic, and imagination. His designs are so fun to imagine yourself luxuriating in!
Darren is serving as ALWAYS. I really expected more from Chiara, she's got such a nice and cozy style full of detail, the closet felt so flat in the end. Anyway I love how different these are. Awesome!
I thought the closet look perfect before all this over done needless stuff. Waste of being
I'm sorry but Chiara, is this a joke ?
I love the design of jenny very minimalist bcuz i dont like wallpaper and flashy mirror i love the color overall 100000000/100 if i have a house that gonna look of my wall in closet
None of them thought about the possibility of this being a shared dressing room with a hubby in mind. Jenny is the one for me..great job all!
@@Angel-ts8rcyeah most of the time guys just go in and leave so they don't mind sharing their girls closet
Jenny ATE that! Her design makes the most sense to me, its calming and neat and clean but with plenty of personality. Love love love!
What a joy it would be to work on a project with Darren engaged and engaging.
I always love Darren's designs!!
And I also really like how him and Noz are always going off on the budget cause that's the prompt
Overall, all of them really had good designs🎉🎉
Thanks for the video!!
Love Darren's and Jenny's. Chiaras just seemed like the furnishings were too small love Darren's staging there vibe and the time period and style he chose
when i first saw how chiara started i was a bit skeptical but the finished product, i definitely liked hers the best . so much sophistication without even trying it feels like
With the chessboard wallpaper and the overall fifties feel it could be a setdesign for The Queen's Gambit.
Unpopular opinion but I really don't like Darrens! I understand it, and appreciate it - but it's faaaaar too girly for me. 😅
"I would love to do something that's a little bit more theatrical, that has a bit of drama, a little bit of flare." ~ Darren Jett 's understatement cracks me up.
I like all three of these walk-in closets design. 😍🤩👍🏻
They are very interesting and feminine, so as a woman I am delighted with them. Only this one lacks a large mirror. Such a large walk-in closets without a large mirror is not complete. 🤔
I absolutely adore Jenny’s design! It’s very fun yet still feels calm.
Same. I was really confused with the stone backing for the inside of the closet, but her design ended up being my favorite.
Darren > luxurious, u can live there
Chiara > flowery, she likes it to be more of a study than a closet
Jenny > practical
Darren’s room looks like it is for Miss Piggy.
I SO love Darrens Designs! The drama he allows, this thrilling energy he always packs into a room... awesome.
Not crazy about any of them, but Darren's was the best. I would have been happy with the original storage and some paint, a mirror and vanity.
The only thing i would change in darrens is removing the island and using a daybed or some other furniture in the center. Or better yet just leave it empty and let the room speak for itself
I like this series
Would someone wake Jenny up, please?
Wake her for what? I'll take her design anyday over Darren in this scenario
Nah but she really does look like she was forced to do this.
I think she’s just an introvert, not her fault
I mean I’m aware it’s someone else’s taste but jeez… Chiara is definitely a choice. 😵💫
is it just me, or does it seem like Jenny refuses to look into the camera
Oh my God, I want the first designer to design not only my closet but every space in my life ... he is a fantastic designer.
Chiara and Jenny seem pretty monotone, while Darren is alive. Good video, tho. Thanks for these competitions!
Me encanta como Darren cambia la forma de todos los espacios, le agrega muchos espejos y juega un monton con la luz 😍
I ❤️ Architectural Digest
Darren is the best. Always love his designs. He’s so creative! Wow💕👍
Well, it’s meant to be a woman’s wardrobe so I guess I cannot be like 10/10 for someone… but from what I see as a suggestion for example for my wive’s walk-in wardrobe in our house I would say:
Darren 13:57
*7/10*
Darren began very nice but at the end… he lost it! Too much colour, too much information, metallic surfaces, extravagant details, shapes etc…
Mhhh no! It could have ended much better!
Chiara 13:36
*6/10*
Not very much. I prefer the warm environment and much calmer atmosphere but it’s not that “inspiring”… it’s to like basic…
I don’t like the details like the curtains in the cabinets…
Good but not that good.
Jenny 13:48
*5/10*
Mhhh… no. It’s not for my taste. I cannot point exactly what I don’t like but… I don’t like the general view of the room.
