I've always loved the way they named these cars. When you start at the bottom level car, you arrive at the Breeze. When you go a little higher, you arrive at the Stratus. When you go to the highest level model, you arrive at the Cirrus. If you know about cloud patterns and elevations, it was a clever naming ideology. ☁️

I had a 97 Stratus with the 2.0 and a 5-spd manual. The interior was just like this one. I always thought the seating position, controls, and ergonomics were really great. It handled great, as good as an Accord of the time, and the suspension design copied the double-wishbone of the Honda. The interior had a lot of plastic, but that and those seats were very durable and easy to clean. The back seat and trunk were huge at the time. I got 40+ mpg on the highway man times, fully loaded with 3 passengers and stuff. You didn't unscrew that trunk floor cover, if you did, you'd find a FULL SIZE spare.

That green is fantastic. I like the late 90s car colors. Plymouth also had a purple that was pretty distinctive. Plymouth was supposed to be the cheap brand but it ended up in a GM situation where three brands are selling essentially the same car. GM at least restyled the exteriors but Chrysler would sometimes just stick a different logo on the nose and call it good.
Coming from a Chrysler/Plymouth family, that radio might have a second level of presets. I don't remember how it worked but each button could have two presets assigned to it. I don't remember how to switch between them. I guess press it twice. The built-in car seat is interesting and pretty unique in a sedan. These things used to be everywhere and the ones that survived lasted surprisingly long.
That logo brings back memories. My mom bought a purple Voyager minivan shortly after I was born and had it for several years. Coming from the cheap brand, it had power locks and A/C but crank windows and no keyless entry. That gray fabric looks the same.

I had the Cirrus, a V6 99 LXi, My mom bought it for me for my 16th birthday, a 2 year old lease turn-in. I LOVED that car.
The reason for that fresh to recirculation dial is because it wasn't electric. I had to have mine repaired.

My grandma had a '97 Chrysler Cirrus LXi in a similar metallic green with the V6 and perforated leather. Loved that car. My family almost bought it from her but it was a gutless wonder and the final nail was when we saw how poorly these cars scored in IIHS crash safety. That Cirrus lasted in someone else's care until 2019.

I love these because theyre one of the last Plymouth models produced before their death in '01. This is an insanely clean unit, most of these were abused and thrown in the scrap yard many years ago. I would totally own this car as a Plymouth fan/enthusiast.

The Plymouth Breeze has always been my go-to car to use for submissions for local car meet cover pages on FB. I'll never forget Summer of 2020, there was a cover photo contest held , the commenter with the most likes, their photo would be the group page's cover photo for the whole month. This was locally the more popular car meet group pages , so chances of me winning is slim. I used the original low quality Kelly blue book/edmuds stock image of the Breeze over the new high quality one as my submission while owners in the community were posting their Skylines and one guy with a RE Rx7 sema build he just finished . They had a head start but the Breeze began to gain steam later in the day and catch up on the thread. Others on the thread started to notice this low quality Breeze photo may actually win and gave 1 like to contribute. By time the voting ended. I had won by a landslide with 41 likes. I was sleep when the admin tried pulling a fast one and not approving it as the photo was not of "cover page sizing format" but luckily a good friend of mine was there resized it and the admin had to honor it. After it was posted I drafted up a long thank you speech commemorating this victory as if I actually own the car which I don't.

I always loved the Chrysler Stratus , they were sold new here in Uruguay, obviously not very popular with that "Big" V6 engine in a country were a 1.8 is consider big, even back in the 90s. But everytime i saw one on the streets was an amazing site. We also had the Taurus V6 from the late 90s, another rare site because of engine size and sale price. Strange here but furniture there.

Thank you for uploading this. have a same color 97' Chrysler Stratus on youtube with the 2.0 liter and 5 speed stick shift (european verson, but mine has the more loaded Cirrus spec). It's the best car I've ever had, and I put about 100K miles on it from 2018 to 2022. Now, I'm keeping it from the Norwegian winters, to save it from the rust. Think it will become an interesting classic one day, one that nobody thought about until they see one.

I got my 1998 breeze 10 ysr ago. It now has 210,000 miles original engine and trans and still daily driver. It has 2.4 DOHC. The 2,0 was determined not strong enough for the breeze as its a little bigger car than the noen. The steering was advertised as a revolutionary new system. The cab forward design allowed more leg room. Feels like a bigger car, Although this didnt allow room for the battery in the engine compartment. So its inconveniently in the wheel well. You have to take off the wheel and fender well liner to access. The interior has held up well. Which is amazing for a 25 yr old car. The trans has a bad reputation but i havent had any problem with mine. The engine was well built to last this long. I really liked the boat when i first saw it too, however its not the mayflower lol its just a sail small sail boat. Oh and the car is white so the color is not dated. The point is this has been a very reliable car for me and i recommend this car. Everything still works a/c, elec windows etc. Good job on this video btw. I didnt know there was any of these left on the road lol.

My mom had a final year Plymouth Voyager, and man. What an absolute piece of shit that thing was. Late '90s Chrysler was pretty bad in general, but Plymouth was especially hopeless. My parents bought it when Plymouth was having their going out of business fire sale, because it was literally cheaper to buy new than to get a used Sienna. This was literally the only new car they've ever purchased. It was pretty much the most base model possible, the only real "options" that it had were A/C and a tape deck. No power anything, including locks, but the dealer had some parts left over and installed them for free. Just one sliding door. The horrible 4cyl/auto that did everything in its power to keep you from getting to your destination. The interior felt like it was made out of melted Happy Meal toys, and had an odor to match. The strut towers had to be replaced because they came pre-rusted, along with the rest of the structural parts of the car. The A/C broke itself horribly, because of course it did. It drove like a container ship, despite being shorter than most sedans. I loved spending my childhood riding around in that car, but I can't say I was exactly disappointed to see it go.

One of my relatives had one that looked exactly like that even the same color. I think calling this the downfall of Plymouth is unfortunately accurate. The Plymouth acclaim outsold the Dodge Spirit and interestingly enough the spirit had the special RT version that was faster than the SHO Taurus of its era. I think one of the mistakes was to decide that only Dodge in Chrysler were allowed to have a V6 engine. I think part of the problem was that they didn't have a large enough engine bay to fit a more appropriate V6 for the class as a 2.5 Mitsubishi was practically as powerful as a 2.4 4 cylinder. I think a great way to have done it to reach different clientele for the brands would have been if they could have fit the 3.3 from the minivans in the Plymouth and used a lower tuned 3.5 from the LH cars in the Dodge and Chrysler versions.

The only people that bought these were fleet and older folks that had some weird attachment to Chrysler. They mailed it in on this one. It’s mind boggling this is still in such condition. I leased a new ‘00 Jetta at the time they still sold this and it was the same price. Not even in the same ballpark. But this was true of all American cars at this time. Just chased fleet sales. I certainly enjoyed the trip down memory lane though.

The Chrysler Cloud cars - Chrysler Cirrus, Dodge Stratus and Plymouth Breeze where Chrysler's first new sedans since retiring the K car platform. They didn't sell as well as Chrysler had hoped. They are certainly not as good as Toyota or Honda

Plymouth was doomed just like Oldsmobile; a few rebadged models and became the forgotten child behind Eagle and Dodge, once Chrysler bought AMC. The LH cars were marketed under Chrysler, Dodge and Eagle…Plymouth didn’t get a version. Ironically, Eagle was phased out just before Plymouth was. I have a couple of Plymouth models, and 84 Reliant and a 93 Voyager. In my family many of our cars were Plymouth branded. My dads 2nd, 3rd and 4th cars were all Dusters, and predictably his all time favorites.

One of my all-time favorite cars was a '67 Plymouth Fury II that I bought for $125 in 1976! The car was sorta plain, but a BETTER HAULER of people or parcels NEVER EXISTED!

The big bottle test is a bit skewed. Some cupholders are big enough but then have issues with the console, brake, or shifter. You might want to do some more research about the cars and options...

Indiana or Kentucky ?? You decide. Where is it from ??
Shockingly and confounding is the fact that it's not rusted through on the rocker panels OR the front of the hood !! So many of the cloud cars died for that reason.
