This technology could really benefit a stereo remix of the early Beatles albums. Separate all the instruments andvocals, allowing engineers to EQ them all individually, and remix them in modern stereo! That would be so awesome! As long as they don't start adding digital effects, pitch correction, autotuning, and stuff like that.
The Red album (1962-1966) and Blue album (1967-1970) are getting remixed! I'm definitely excited to hear the Red album's new mixes. Comes out on Friday.
Thanks so much for this upload. The applications for this are massive. I own this release, and The Rolling Stones Live at BBC. But more releases can be done. Edit: I just want to add this man is a hero.
This is fashinating me sooo much , i can spend hours just to think about how mono tracks can be breaked down again into saperate sources, now you can finally change the past.
Thanks for posting, I'm not finding much documented by professionals about the de mixing topic other than Peter Jackson in 2021. James mentions in 2009 when he mentioned the de mixing topic that the consensus was it didn't really exist, not anything good anyway, I wonder how we are in 2021 with Jacksons engineering developments?
probably the first video i'm going to watch on this website where i'm told something i don't know (ua-cam.com/video/aPBEY5KoYw4/v-deo.html) and how many views does it have in 3 years? a whopping 2760, or approximately 920 a year. sad, yet reflective of both my community and society at-large.
Do you know what his version of it I think has far too many high frequencies and that brought up the screams way too much. I think the album version is better. And the bootleg version the one called whiskey Flats, is superior to all of them!
To the novice that sounds like genius. Yeah you bring the high frequencies up and it goes up for everything on that channel. You make a mix you bring the highs up on the overall mix brings all the highs up on everything. So what? We’ve known that ever since we’ve had a EQ!
Translation and believe me this is no big revelation on his part, he saw a photograph of the mics the low impedance mics, miking close to the end which is how it was always done! Those weren’t going to allow for much leakage. No big deal. Anyone would know that and they know that by listening to the track that recorded it. And then the only mics that had leakage were the ones that were the vocal mics in front. Those picked up the audience screaming. So what’s supposed to be such a big revelation here is that you had leakage through those mics in the front of the audience.
He said that they put mics facing the crowd as it was a common practice at the time for live classical music, so apart from the voice mics, they placed mics facing the crowd, that´s what makes this sessions worst. As stupid as it sounds they put mics facing what it would be a Boieing 747 motor.....and they made it both in 1964 and 1965 to make things worst....sorry english is not my main language.

I can't wait to hear the first 2 albums and early singles in a true stereo mix along with a vocal centered " Rubber Soul " .
There's already competent spectral remixes out there. Look up "Abracadabra"

Great information, brilliant project.

Is this software available in mainstream now? I need it!
Very interesting!
This man may be the smartest human of all time
5:00 couldn’t be. No. This isn’t true!

4:00 makes no sense!
