Stolen Mercedes GLS Automatrics London Theft Recovery Operation

- Yet another Mercedes theft through the vehicle key cloning, its just all too easy for a three man team caught on CCTV. Follow the Automatrics theft recovery team when they are contacted by a car hire company to try to locate a stolen Mercedes GLS. Time appears to be against the team as the vehicle reported location is suspected of being a chop / dismantle shop and the police are struggling to support the team. A big thanks to our customer for pushing police support to return on this one and to Danny for his once again speedy attendance, dedication, resolve and recovery skills.
Warning strong emotive language is used within this operation.
Mapping locations statement:
While maps and locations of our devices are generally accurate we advise that these graphic depicted locations are only an approximation, they are not guaranteed to be completely accurate and as such they cannot be used to suspected the location they show. The actual true locations of any recovered stolen asset can only be confirmed when they eyeballed by witnesses and then captured on our video footage.
Please note, there was a deliberate delay in releasing this video to enable the police to thoroughly investigate the theft. No police arrests have been advised to Automatrics, however our operational intel may have helped the Met police.
Clearly the Met police had difficulties to support Automatrics access to the tracked vehicle in a more timely manner in this particular operation. Although we describe possible reasons for police delays and why a warrant may not have been authorised we cannot confirm that our thoughts were in fact the case. For sure the customer outcome may have been significantly improved had they responded quicker. This vehicle with all parts (except the wheels) and was later sold at auction to help recover the majority of the value of the car.
The fact that Automatrics chap doesn't just give in because the police say so is one of many reasons why i chose this company over all the others to track my motorcycle - If my motorcycle got stolen i'd want someone fighting my corner to get it back !! well done
Do they fit it or would i have to install it myself? tia
@@desd1932 no you have to fit it but mine uses a battery that stays charged for at least a year so no wires to worry about
Police will often ignore what certain groups are doing. One reason is money and corruption, the other is that they will control other criminals and give information in return for money. It is a balancing act.
We cannot believe the helicopter missed that cut off Range Rover roof, it was quite a sizable feature in that rear yard. It must have been chopped on the Saturday night / Sunday ...... had the police gone in with us on the Saturday morning we may have been able to save that owners Range Rover from its impending death sentence.
and the extremely wasteful cost to the tax payer!!!! paid a lot of money to go for a little flight in the heliflopter. funsys time for a pilot and a guy operating a camera. prob waiting days to get out in it while sitting drinking tea and watching daytime TV. camera operator is clearly unfit for his duty. my DJI drone would have seen everything in there.
We found this spoon sir!
I live up the road from this place. Always chopped up cars going in and out of there. I believe this place was raided not that long ago. www.romfordrecorder.co.uk/news/crime/rainham-chop-shop-raided-6895716
Police helicopter costs the taxpayer about £900 for 30 minutes in the air.
Need to get yourself a drone
Unbelievable. Gives you a lot of confidence in the police. Makes you feel really safe.
Fantastic theft recovery operation Richard, the customer must have been pleased with the result. Shame about the stripping of the vehicle on site, but overall a successful operation.
They dont want to mess up the operation but they fly a helicopter over the site multiple times and leave cop cars out front. Your police force is a bunch of toddlers.
agreed, and they're also full of shit. the whole situation was both hilarious and a shambles. There was no policing in this video whatsoever.
I was thinking the same thing!! The investigation was already in the crapper 5 minutes after the police where there with cars lining the streets and a helicopter hovering above!! They knew then that their time was up and they wouldn’t be returning to that garage so issue the damn warrant and get in their and seize the vehicle before the fire breaks out!
@@UA-camSupportTeams I am thinking if in the essex force they would have done no messing about.

it's no wonder that there is such a major crime issue in the UK. The police are not really interested and then leave the scene to boot!
You make their job easier and lead them to the stolen item !!!! They can't be arsed.
The police service needs a major overhaul.
Good video and keep up the good work
I live about 5/6 miles away from this area and the police are appalling. Unless it's a revenue generating crime they don't want to know. Had you called and told them a family were breaching covid rules they would be round immediately kicking down the doors trying to issue a fine. I've had first hand experience of them not being bothered, they have zero intentions of trying to catch the perpetrators.
Utterly disgusted in the police leaving the poor guy there on his own... Lucky he wasn't attacked by someone. No wonder the police have a bad reputation !!!
POlice in England is verry bad...maybe the worst from all Europe
The police told them clearly, you must have a warrant for entry to THIS location. Without a warrant there is nothing we can do at this time. Call us when you have a warrant. A WARRANT is to protect YOU, the land owner, from being invaded by the government illegally... Don't bitch about the police in THIS particular case. Their hands were tied with what they could do legally. Sometimes the laws slow down the process. But it's DAMNED sure better than the alternative...
They even admit that they can't narrow it down to less than FIVE possible units in that one building. Each unit is a separate legal entity. You can't just bust into EACH one to finally find which one it was... They need a warrant.
@@NorthernChev i talk in general about police in Uk...i know how they use to be when you need help, when someone stolen your bike for ex,..they ask you informations about you things stolen and after,,ok,we will call you back when we know somthing,,and never happen...if police was more acure this country dont was so bad how is now, teenagers for ex...stabbs on street,,14 year kids talk with police officers like they are nothing...and more things...drugs selling, crimes, you are not save on street walking with your wifi...
@@NorthernChev Incorrect! Once they gained entry through the site gate they could pinpoint the exact unit the stolen vehicle was in!
Warrant or no warrant the police acted unprofessionally and very irresponsibly in my honest opinion!
Watch to the end where they leave that poor guy in the opened unit with the stolen car waiting for a recovery vehicle, they couldn't even be bothered to wait in case the car theft gang came back! Astonishingly poor response!
That vehicle had almost been stripped of it's valuable parts before they could be bothered to act!🤔😯
The incompetence of the police pretty much make having a tracker useless. "Hey, we found your car but we're going to have to let them finish cutting it up and taking off with the parts before we can go in."
yeah, the way this tells me, is what's the point in having a tracker, if the police are not going to support the tracker company 100%. Why bother spending the money. When the police are just going to fanny about like that. As soon it was pin pointed they could have gone straight in.
The problem seems to be once it's on private property police are reluctant to break in , only way to prevent it is to kill the engine remotely when it's armed and moving away from house after 2-3 warnings to disarm immobiliser tracker (mobile warnings) as long as it's on public road and you call the police to say your retrieving it now with or without the police on arrival they will be there before you
Thankfully not all police forces are this incompetent, it’s very frustrating to see this..
The tracker isn't completely useless, just meet the trackers there yourself, bring bolt cutters and a gun
@@procta2343 In fairness the tracker company really pushed the police several times to do something, and spent many hours covering the outside of the building. If the police had been even a tiny little bit more helpful, they would have been able to stop it before the car was chopped. It's almost like the police were deliberately delaying
8 months ago you said to watch this channel for more vids coming out soon. Okay, I been waiting patiently and I just can't watch any previous vids again. Maybe should check back in 2022
Sorry , that's an entirely fair comment, there are several legitimate reasons for these delays, awaiting court cases, part shortages, new model launch and very busy recovery needs. We will get this underway this weekend
Absolutely shocking that you had to remind plod of their powers under pace in order for them to act .
However one thing we have learnt over recent months is that the police are far more interested in generating their own revenue streams via covid fines, far more reward for a lot less hassle.
The real crims have never known it to be so good.
No need for pace for these crimes.. maybe a hail of bullets to slap them into sense against sticking up cars
Section 17 Pace provides entry for arrest not to retrieve stolen property. If the argument was the offender/s were on site, sec 17 could be used, but the reason they wanted police to enter under 17 was to retrieve the stolen property, which would be unlawful under 17. The Police from what I can see have it correct when they say they need a warent.
Not suggesting they should have disappeared in the first instance. They should have been looking for an emergency warent.
The police have an extremely shallow understanding of the law...
For some reason these vids are addicting, wish you posted more.

From their site £184 per year which a big chunk of which would be recovered by reduced insurance costs I would think.
Danny (and his Boss I presume) is a F***ing hero, climbs on the roof intially to locate the veihicle, puts himself in danger at the end, police were abosultely useless - uninterested in making any arrests or to the recover a £70,000 veihicle. @@catastrophic009 I gave up watching them when it dawned on me that any Police chase of a joy rider resulted in damage well above the £15,000 mark in all aspects but when put in court they were either let off or given a fine that would not even cover most car insurance these days. Oh and banned from driving which is always ignored anyway.
Brilliant tracker position because that car was almost in pieces lol , awesome jobs on recovery!
Love watching your videos, met police was always the force you went to if you got rejected from anywhere else. They just let everyone down there. They could have had some good arrests.
Also the quickness they strip it to they could get an honest job in a body repair shop with those talents.

This incident lacked leadership by the Met. The officers who attended seemed out of their depth and lacked the guidance and direction of an experienced Sergeant, who should have attended the scene to get to grips with this excellent piece of work by your company and bring it to a satisfactory conclusion. Rest assured, if this had taken place on my patch, come he’ll or high water, the car would have been recovered that day!
Shocking behaviour from the police leaving that guy alone to deal with the recovery. I think they forget that we pay their wages.
by evidence of many auditing videos, they are a law onto themselves sometimes... thats only when they understand the law it self that is
I hope a formal complaint was lodged. They put a member of the public in danger by leaving him there alone.
Just think they stripped this car , and still didn’t find the tracker !!!!
They probably knew where the tracker was but why would they give a toss about a tracker?? Look what the police do, nothing!

Amazing video, can't believe they just abandoned you there
So I watched a video the other day of a man in the US who had a bunch of stuff stolen. He figured out it was one of his neighbors and called the cops. Cops showed up talked to the man and the neighbor, got a warrant within an hour, and found the stolen items in a locked garage. UK cops "I don't see the car, must not be here" leaves. Now I understand how my UK friends always say the cops there are pretty lazy and it's not even worth calling them sometimes.

Point noted, joking aside, watch a few more theft recovery operational videos to discover some better customer investment results, saving owners up to £350K
This client was operating a self insured rental business, as such any financially viable good insurance option would be hard to find. Most insurance policy fees are significantly increasing above inflation, insurers are definitely not flavour of the month.
Theft claims are regarded as a policy holder fault claim, meaning if you have to claim that leaves a pretty expensive black mark for anyone for the next 5 years insurance premiums. You may keep your no claims discount but the actual premium will sky rocket. Most clients do not claim on any insurance, they get their vehicle back, avoid devaluation haggling sessions with an insurer, and they also retain vehicle value avoiding a "Stolen Vehicle DVLA Marker" as triggered by a theft insurance claim.
@@AutomatricsMtrack the police are the problem not your systems.

In a case like this, a camera on the end of a long fishing rod can sometimes be just as good. Not quite legal to actually put it over a fence, but you won't risk the huge penalties for unauthorised flying.
