For the first 10 replays of that swing I really thought that Wilson was trying to will Sandin to swing the puck up the boards his way instead of chipping it behind the net. But... it looked like an absolute brain fart, probably with the expectation that Gregor would have his own stick up in a defensive position after jabbing Wilson. But nope, Gregor dropped his hands to get back into the play and Wilson clocked him.
Petition for Steve to eat a mustard covered cupcake every game the leaf are really bad but in return when leaf have a really good game he can treat himself to something good :p

I was sceptical about replacing Marner with a playmaker on a snipers line. But who would’ve thought! When you replace a playmaker with a playmaker, they make plays and the sniper scores! Wow!
The annoying thing is (as a caps fan) the caps didn't look bad either especially coming back from a long road trip. Looked to have a fair share of chances early game but the sheer amount of penalties given away in the 3rd ruined us. Was a few calls that didnt go our way too. But you can't win every game dust off and get on to the next one. It's not gonna be easy for that wild card spot but they've shut out vegas, boston and beat Vancouver this season. Gonna be interesting between us and Detroit who takes it.

You know Wilson isn't the kind of player to check on someone he just hit intentionally so the second he did that and was sorry for him. Yeah I think he'll get a game which sucks. I really enjoyed Caps play tonight and past couple of games after trade deadline I am surprisingly happy about their game. Of course there are lots of work to do but they did get some new young players and Ovi is back, this is great, Im not even mad about this game. And most important the future looking great for Caps and not so desperate as Penguins, ughh..

I turned the game on at 11:20 left in the second, the announcers (Darren Pang and Eddie I believe) were talking about how “organized and efficient the Capitols were in the Ozone, really outclassing the Leafs offensively”
Then I looked at the score and it was 2-0 for the Leafs

Ok, I am proud of Domi right now. He always smiles, he's having fun and he has heart. Plus he's fun to watch! He's creating plays, and it appears he brings up the morale of the line. I dont want Marner back on the line of Domi is playing hot right now.

Don't forget all Domi and Bert are only on one year deals. They might not even be back . As Marner and JT will need contract extensions

Steve I think you gotta watch that Wilson swing to the face again. I watched it from multiple angles and its clear as day intentional. He calked back on his stick and followed through with as much force as he could muster. He was looking STRAIGHT at Gregor’s face as he made contact. Just cause he was showing concern afterwards doesn’t negate the intent. It’s called instant regret and even that’s giving him the benefit of doubt. I mean what on earth was he trying to accomplish otherwise????

At this point of season it doesn't matter if Leafs win or lose. They're finishing 3rd. Games 1 and 2 at Boston or Florida.
