I don't know why no one ever mentions the fact that children of mixed race couples are the race of their mother. That opens up a lot of possibilities for who the Ebony Warrior can be and explain why he wants to get into Sovngarde. He could be the bastard son of the former high king or Ulfric or any other notable Nord who had a Redguard mistress. He would look like a Redguard but be his father's son, so to speak, and of course have daddy issues driving his progress and desire to meet his father in Sovngarde. That last idea is why I particularly like the idea that he is the son of Torygg, the last High King of Skyrim.
There is no mixed race people since mothers have dominant genes. The most credible theory is that the Ebony Armor is in itself an entity of a warrior that manifests as a challenger. Like a encounter, but of a daedric nature on a legendary tier.
I don't know about Torygg and Ulfric, apparently Torygg was still fairly young when he died, presumably not old enough to have an adult son. Ulfric would probably be old enough but the Ebony Warrior would know where to find him to begin with, It wouldn't make sense for the Ebony Warrior to want to reunite with Ulfric in Sonvengard when he could have done so in life. But I do like the of the Warrior's father being a Nord. Maybe one that died in the War with the Thalmor.

I believe the Ebony Warrior is the player. Think of him as another character you made, since I think most people don't only make one character in Skyrim. He's basically just another character of yours who reached max level, coming to challenge your current character when they also became strong enough. I think it's a bit similar to the case of Skyrim's Sheogorath. If you played the Oblivion DLC Shivering Isles, you know that in the end of the questline (spoilers) your character becomes Sheogorath. So from a certain point of view, in Skyrim you basically meet "your previous character" from Oblivion, when you're doing Sheogorath's quest. This is how I see the Ebony Warrior too.
Reminds me of Pelinal. His lore is basically what players end up doing. I mean he screams Reman's name, an Emperor in the future and a bunch of other stuff that people shouldn't know about in the setting as if he's from outside of it. He may have the body of a Redguard, but he still has the heart of a Nord. At his core, he *is* a Nord, regardless of blood.
The Ebony Warrior IS the Dragonborn. He is either a manifestation of consciousness like you said, or he is the next game (or previous) main character. In any way you slice it, the Ebony Warrior is the Dragonborn’s equivalent.
That last theory does make a ton of sense Throughout the series, the player character slowly becomes bored and sometimes tired as you level up Something that didn't show up in skyrim was the level up blurbs that would appear once you rested. In the other games, the character usually starts off at level 2 as all excited and wide eyed to the world around them. Alduin is the avatar of destruction in the eyes of akatosh. The cycle was broken and akatosh would have just started a cycle he already ended. Since, the player. Aka the last dragon born, is also technically an avatar since he has the blood of a dragon.

I think the Ebony Warrior being a Redguard is just a hint that the next game will take place in Hammerfell. You have other references to Hammerfell in the game as well, such as the sidequest involving Saadia and the Alik'r or how the guards keep talking about curved swords. It's a little like Fallout 3, that had a side quest about androids, The Institute and The Railroad, heavily hinting to the plot of Fallout 4.
Y'all don't know how to procrastinate. I'm lvl 100 and still not done with Harkon. Only reason I defeated Miraak is cause that jagoff's a thief. A soul thief, not cool kind. I've also procrastinated in ever getting my life going
Ebony Warrior is a Redguard because redguards have 50% poison resistance, as well as normal height (which is even modified in EW's case) as well as uses "human" voice for shouts. He's the perfect warrior you can build in the game with most of his things covered. Although him being a godly avatar of redguards is nice for lore reasons.
I always thought of the Ebony warrior was suppose to symbolize another player whos reached max level and the only challenge he would have left is to face another max level player
Then shouldn't the Ebony Warrior be a female for female DBs? Or at least the same race as the DB? I like the idea that the EW is your future self, since Parthy said they should be able to see time like a dova and they have used the Elder Scrolls, and that Time magic is possible, that eventually, you have to meet yourself to finally call your time on the mortal plane done. But, if that is the case, then the EB should look like your character when unmasked.
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 True, but if it is a manifestation of our characters, then why would we identify as a race and a gender completely different from ourselves? I'd be very disappointed if that was the case, since my female DBs always marry him. Well, unless they're lesbian... but for some reason I usually play heterosexual characters. Not sure why. Statistical probability, probably.
Problem is Cicero is sane. We the Dragonborn are not. How else would you explain that we needed to cross the border into Skyrim at the beginning of the game, when a civil war is going on.
My hottake: Ebony Warrior is to YOU. What Shin Akuma is to Ryu. Similar Powers dialed up to 11. Increased physical health. Increased durability. Extra Damage not available to you. Umbra would be like the Base Form Akuma. From when neither of you could shout. ____ Because Bethesda loves Pop Culture references. In all forms of Media, Akuma is doing his own thing, but watching from the shadows. When he feels he finds a worthy opponent, he strikes. But he has his code. Its kind of like how Umbra/Ebony Warrior are not hostile to the player, and in some form, only fight the player on their terms.
2:45 not exclusive to "nord warriors", but exclusive to "true nords"... Which means different thing. "True nord" for me means a warrior who lives (and dies) by the code of trues sons (and daughters) or North and it's ancestors which does not necessarily mean he/she has to be a nord by blood. (edit: some typos thx to my stupid phone)
Maybe there's a Easter egg with the Ebony Warrior. Maybe if you kill him and go to Sovengard (u must have the quest, although im pretty sure you'd already have completed the quest, but still) he'll be there? Maybe, but we don't know.
Although I like your theory, it’s not very plausible. If the ebony warrior were just a manifestation of the player characters mind, no one else could see him but the player character. Attacking him/ trying to pickpocket his sweet armor in cities will cause the guards to attack you and cause you to accrue a bounty in that hold.
If the Ebony Warrior were meant to be strong his gear would have two enchants instead of one each, his armor would be improved, and at least one or two artifacts on him with three enchants, or some unique but powerful effect (like "resist Marked for Death"). Just sayin'.
It's todd howard. Skyrim was always multiplayer, but there was only 1 player that could invade other people's games. He built the ebony warrior to stomp you down. He then sits at his computer looking for 80+ level players on a road and connected online. Then he challenges you, and if you don't fight him, then he calls you a wuss and feels like a big man.
I think the significance of him shouting is glossed over. Shouting is an ability supposedly exclusive to Nords and the Dragonborn, granted by Kyne and Akatosh. Why would the Ebony Warrior, a Redguard, be able to shout? The only other characters that can shout are Ulfric, the Greybeards, and Miraak, who are all nords.
eh well there is a Red guard way of shouting Called blade singing given to them by that god hero and or some other god i'm Not a huge Elder scrolls nerd But i do remember that tad bit Though i don't remember from where

Of course he's a dragonborn, since he uses a shout and made my odavin, looks like a chiuaua
Oh my god the Cynthia boss fight music at the beginning is giving me flashbacks of anxiety 😭😂
Coolest dude in Skyrim. Scratch that. Coolest guy in Tamriel.
I always thought of the Ebony warrior was suppose to symbolize another player whos reached max level and the only challenge he would have left is to face another max level player
This is a way of saying are you quitting the game after doing everything skyrim has to offer or are you dedicated enough to just roam around in skyrim
Tallest “humanoid” in the game? What about giants?
Troglodytes.
@@michaelgrant6032 you are the first person ive ever seen to use that word

... Yea, that skill is broken.
This theory says EB's manifestation is a part of our subconscious, but that means we are completely detached from our own identity in every possible way. So, I like it, but I don't agree with it. But, I did enjoy the video and thanks for the reply!
I'd be very disappointed if that was the case, since my female DBs always marry him. Well, unless they're lesbian... but for some reason I usually play heterosexual characters. Not sure why. Statistical probability, probably.
@@SotiCoto Do you have a mod that lets you marry the Ebony Warrior? Talk about a power couple!
@@SotiCoto LOL 😂 🤣 Tormund Griantsbane Would Aprove.
Problem is Cicero is sane. We the Dragonborn are not. How else would you explain that we needed to cross the border into Skyrim at the beginning of the game, when a civil war is going on.
Does anyone know what that mask in the start of the video was?? 0:03
priest mask mod
The wielder of Umbra adopts the name, not the other way around.
Strange or not hes definitely a badass
Yay we are as crazy as Cicero =D
plot twist: The ebony warrior is Starborn.
My hottake:
Ebony Warrior is to YOU.
What Shin Akuma is to Ryu.
Similar Powers dialed up to 11.
Increased physical health.
Increased durability.
Extra Damage not available to you.
Umbra would be like the Base Form Akuma.
From when neither of you could shout.
____
Because Bethesda loves Pop Culture references.
LMAO nice Elmaxo parody bro
What is the creation club quest called
I like to think that perhaps a loved one of his was a Nord woman who died in battle, and he wished to join her in the afterlife.
A manifestation of the Dragonborn's subconscious? So the Ebony Warrior is basically the Dragonborn's stand. 💀
Thumbnail mask sauce?
Enderal
Was this referenced in the tv show Mythic Quest or am I conflating?
Isn't Tsun the biggest? I thought Ebony is only at 1.25x the size while Tsun is at 1.5x
Him being redguard is weird cus whenever i killed him he was either a high elf or dark elf
Bethesda leaves planet landing for mods, two rtx 4090 required
It's todd howard. Skyrim was always multiplayer, but there was only 1 player that could invade other people's games. He built the ebony warrior to stomp you down. He then sits at his computer looking for 80+ level players on a road and connected online. Then he challenges you, and if you don't fight him, then he calls you a wuss and feels like a big man.
I think the significance of him shouting is glossed over. Shouting is an ability supposedly exclusive to Nords and the Dragonborn, granted by Kyne and Akatosh. Why would the Ebony Warrior, a Redguard, be able to shout? The only other characters that can shout are Ulfric, the Greybeards, and Miraak, who are all nords.
eh well there is a Red guard way of shouting Called blade singing given to them by that god hero and or some other god i'm Not a huge Elder scrolls nerd But i do remember that tad bit Though i don't remember from where
I cannot tell you how much hearing the music from The Binding of Isaac Shop Room and seeing Skyrim content at the same time confused my brain 😅😅😅

Theoretically you could reach level 80 and defeat the Ebony Warrior before going to sovngard to kill Alduin. What are the odds you would see him there if you did things in that order?
Yeah ... the first blow is always the final blow.
Maybe the ebony warrior is the last dragonborn from a previous kalpa?
I'm entirely certain that the developers didn't think about his lore at all
If you get to the ebony warrio and kill him before completing the game. When you get to the mission that takes you to sovengard. Will he be there?? Anyone know?
he´s just like us another guy how finished his main story
Bro i hated how he was using the minecraft cave music. its 1 in the morning
Dont think i diddnt recognize cynthias theme at the start
What is the mask in the thumbnail?
I believe it originated in the game/Mod "Enderal" by SureAI. The mask is called "Mask of The Father" and is worn by a character called "The Father"
It's from a mod called Unique Dragon Priests Masks. It released around 2013.
@@Jun-Kyard Ah, my bad, thanks for correcting me!
What I think is the creators wanted the final battle is to fight yourself? Or the ebony warrior is the player is what I'm saying
I get that he's EBONY, but I hate that he's a REDGUARD who wants to reach Soverngarde. Only a nord would seek that
Or is the Ebony Warrior just another wondering Mercenary that is really upset you keep taking all the wondering mercenary contracts? Once you level up every wondering mercenary with map locations on them wear Ebony armor.
So your last theory is Fight Club:Skyrim?
For me its just like Easter Egg. Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:))
