Extremely interesting findings. I wish the CC immunity would have a visual representation of sorts. Or that we would have a more direct way of know how much each CC contributes to the overall caps that then lets you become CC immune.
Hearing that sleep bombing is potentially moving aside to make room for a skirmish DoT assassin is music to my ears. l've grown tired of hearing you have to sleep bomb to be a darkblighter. Now im just a few more patches/tweaks away from having a solid class to play.
honestly as a damage dealer i don't think its viable , but imo i think it fits into a greater picture way better than just scoring some kills . You can heal be tanky , have movement interrupts and saved people alot more than most set ups honestly . I believe a better game plan would be to stop chasing it as a dot sleep bomb assassin and play it more as a disrupter stopping people from making plays and getting kills on your team . These 2 weapons combined have the most utility out of all combinations imo .
I can see a world when this would work pre cc changes, with the CC changes a lot of the toolkit is simply wasted but let me know if you try it and have success
@@VextGamingEU sure will , the idea of the intended build im going for is to build very tanky and have a large amount of cc resist with cd as oppose to damage and hit . We have a dash skill that removes stuns off our teammates which is on a low cd. honestly this is far more benificial than any heal since they wont be one shot from gs prone when played correctly . also being able to spread dots while having vampric contract on will help everyone around you heal significantly more after spreading it . getting weaken hit chance is very achievable and honestly trumps hit chance with our build . all in all , stopping the enemy from making plays , being very mobile and healing while staying alive is what this build will aim for . if we get some kills after shutting down their plays even better . wont even be utilizing sleep at all unless its for a single cc purpose , now that stuns are better to land and we have aoe stuns . most of the time healers cant stay alive since the tanks or dps run into the thick of it and cant be in range of the healer anymore . Think this can be a varient of sns/wand , except we have more movement damage and heals , stuns , just a little less tanky .
Mained Staff/wand since the start as the healer for my static/arenas however spear has always been my go to weapon in all games. Ive tried to cook up a spear/wand build that allows me to still be the healer for our group in pve pushing trials but also something that is somewhat viable in PVP, any chance i can get your opinion on it? My alt plays dagger/wand because of you and its a blast, watch every one of your videos and really appreciate your insight!
Yeah this is what i've noticed :/ ive managed 1270mana regen, 11.5kmax mana with an excavators. Still 1100+hit and 500-600crit for pvp stats. Can always swap in the staff i suppose for when we're struggling. tyty
I would never fear and sleep a target. Either of those CC is your chance to attack. You could fear or sleep after the fear or sleep subsided. But since wand is the talk.. curse energy (jjk talk) is good combo
The cc immunity is there if you chain the attacks regardless, thebpoint of this is as a playmaker build in largescale where cc chains were king, now they aren't possible in the same way
I'm mostly a PVE goob, and intrigued by Spear/Wand but the Mana situation is a daunting task. Is playing it like a Templar out of bounds, Wand for heals and shields. I'll flesh it out.
Yeah death from above is completely scuffed, target likely dies or is out of range before it goes off, or you get cc’d prior to it going off…it’s very much unusable reliably and it’s such a wasted skill slot in its current form.
You are saying aoe sleep is not good anymore because stun is the only reliable follow up to it. Why isn't that good enough though? If we follow up a big sleep with a big stun that's already a W isn't it? Yes, those who survive will have cc immunity but it shouldn't matter too much at that point because we ran out of ccs anyway, no? Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't seem too bad.
Sleep and stun can both be broken with CC stone, collision wad the desired follow-up as it can't be broken so ensured the lock down. Now there is a lot of room to cc break and heal.
If I called it ember somebody would inevitably ask me what skill it is :) so I used its skill name not its specialisation name but you can see in the video it has the spec needed
So after testing abit , it’s so good , but the mana…. It’s actually unplayable . Spent 200$ to make a build very close to what you have here just with some extra mana regen / max mana. Still unplayable 😢. Feels like god mode for about 10 seconds .

Yeah its taken a few of us testing together to work it out, 1 tornado should net you immunity now though

can you elaborate on why tornado should be dropped for bow users? a lot of players seem to be behind on this.
A single tornado will make most people cc immune. Unless used meticulously its wasted
Never happened for me (cc immune I mean), after update still flying 2/3times in a row because bow army in front of me
Is there an updated wand dagger build given the endurance changes? I.e are there any other pieces that changed besides red cloak to blessed
not really CC immunity is so strong now you don't need collision to reach immunity insanely fast the only reason for it is to completely avid the cc

Mana is the biggest issue in pve for sure

But Cyclose Fury does not give you stack Ember to throw your spear, explosive fury does

haha yup it feels great then you realise youre doing exactly the same as you have been but now have a spear and not a dagger :P

This seems really bad. Spear already has a lot of holes in its kit that make it an awkward dps. Cool idea though.
Yup looked good on paper, in reality leaves a lot to be desired.
