Basically lots of culture festival stuff, especially the clock motif at the start since the big thing happens on top of the clock tower, and the main couple are spurred into action by time. The trippy montage of Kaguya and Shirogane alone in the stuco emphasizes this, with the same pattern of their love war repeating and keeping them at a distance until Shirogane disappears and papers flutter (his transfer forms) and Kaguya runs after him. You can glimpse a quick shot of Shirogane's cape as he climbs up the tower in the Kaguya running scene too. The side characters shown all show up later in the culture festival as well: Tsubame holds a nest i.e referencing the treasure she was named after from the Princess Kaguya tale and in the manga Ishigami's task / the Mass Media Club girls from the spinoff interview Kaguya before the culture festival & Momo as (who helps Shirogane) walks by / TTG girls and Onodera who are involved in the culture festival planning and activity chapters / Papagane shows off his precious watch that he gives to Shirogane The last scene just reinforces the stuco dynamic again, all three other characters turning up to foil the confession somehow, Ishigami's misery, Iino's prudishness, Fujiwara bumbling by with her love detective mode, even oblivious to them edit: and Karen, one of the Mass Media girls, gets struck by lightning as a metaphor for the sudden shock seeing her otp kiss at the end of the festival (and fainting with joy lol)
I’m going to mention the 5 foreshadowey things I noticed, so spoiler alert... Alright, so let’s begin. First off, the excessive use of hearts throughout the video. It may simply seem like it’s fitting the “Ultra Romantic” theme of the season, but it has a further meaning than that. In the school festival, also known as the Devoted Hearts Festival, giving a heart-shaped object to someone else is basically a confession that you wish to spend your life with them. Also, the heart-shaped “balloon” shown throughout the intro may be a reference to Shirogane’s confession, who basically threw a whole bunch of balloons in the air. Secondly, the clocks. Shirogane wanted to make a puzzle that only Kaguya would decipher the true intentions, and so scattered papers with multiple clock faces printed out. In the end, the dual confession took place on the clocktower of the school, the highest place on campus where they could see the bonfire. Thirdly, Kaguya looking at her watch. She only confessed out of desperation for the time, but for two separate reasons. The first, more obvious one was Shirogane leaving for America. If he did, they would not be able to speak to each other again. However, the second reason was Kaguya’s own limited time. The Shinomiya family already have arrangements for her marriage, and she feels that this year is her last chance to experience romance, before being stuck in a loveless marriage for her family. The transfer forms for Shirogane that flutter about the room further add to this. Fourthly, for a split second it shows a figure in a cape walking up the stairs, whom Kaguya is chasing after. This is more detail into the confession, as Shirogane dressed up as Arsene for the event, to be “like a man”, as Kaguya herself mentions. Fifthly, the bamboo forest. While a bit more abstract, this is linked to The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, the Japanese folktale that most of the characters are based off of. In the most recent chapters leading to the finale, most of not all of the arcs are named after challenges mentioned in the folktale, which is pretty interesting. Tsubame holding the nest near the start, which represents her, is another point to this. After all, Ishigami’s task was to reach for the bird’s nest...
I like how this OP reflects how the extended cast is going to get fleshed out more this season, while still emphasizing how focused the narrative is going to be on Kaguya and Shirogane's relationship. I especially love the quick shot of "Arsene" ascending the clocktower near the end.

I like how well each OP reflects the tone of its respective season. Love Dramatic was more defiant and assertive. It’s when the two main characters were giving their all to try and outwit the other. DDD was upbeat, but with a slight “pleading” sound to it, representing how keeping up the charade is getting harder for Kaguya. She’s starting to slip. She’s gone from “I’ll make you admit you love me” to “I want you to tell me you love me” And now in Giri Giri, the tone has gone to a feeling of longing. It’s much more sad, because the characters know they’re running out of time. Their sense of pride has been beaten-down and now they’re just desperate to be together, if only for a short while.
It looks like they merged the minimalism and trippy-ness of the first opening with the insane animation and originality of the second plus with that symbolism, one of the best OPs I've ever seen. Suzuki doesn't disappoint either!
God I love all the love is war openings. The first one introduces you to the game Kaguya and Miyuki play, the second one shows a normal day in the game, and the third one shows how the game has gotten so chaotic, that no one has any control over it
here after the last episode, did anyone notice that in the last episode at 0:51 kaguya finally opened her hand and she had the heart shape accessory in her hand? that was a nice detail they added in the last episode

I’m not caught up to the manga so I don’t understand all the foreshadowing but this opening is just amazing. Foregoing the imagery of weaponry and games in the first season into a race against time here really shows the couple’s growth. The trippy shot of the room is so cool and gives me Alice in wonderland vibes, and the shot of Kaguya running with the different art styles is SO GOOD like how do they have the budget for this I feel so spoiled it’s insane. They even show her running through the fireworks scene from season 1 and then the bamboo forest and a shot with the moon to reference the folk tale of Princess Kaguya. It’ll be tough to combat the catchiness and spectacle of the first two ops, but this one is growing on me REALLY fast
Seeing kaguya running while the background keep changing is so *FANTASTIC* , and the music fits perfectly with the op theme making this absolute banger and i freakin love it.
As a manga reader, it's pretty funny going from the current storyline over there, where some very heavy and serious shit is going down, back to the anime where it's mostly a bunch of silly shenanigans. Huge contrast there lol

I’m not caught up to the manga so I don’t understand all the foreshadowing but this opening is just amazing. Foregoing the imagery of weaponry and games in the first season into a race against time here really shows the couple’s growth. The trippy shot of the room is so cool and gives me Alice in wonderland vibes, and the shot of Kaguya running with the different art styles is SO GOOD like how do they have the budget for this I feel so spoiled it’s insane. They even show her running through the fireworks scene from season 1 and then the bamboo forest and a shot with the moon to reference the folk tale of Princess Kaguya. It’ll be tough to combat the catchiness and spectacle of the first two ops, but this one is growing on me REALLY fast
As a manga reader the only thing I can say is by the end of this arc you would be happy NAY! EXTREMELY HAPPY!

Seeing kaguya running while the background keep changing is so *FANTASTIC* , and the music fits perfectly with the op theme making this absolute banger and i freakin love it.
Love it, they really don't know how to make a bad opening and disappointed us at all. Hope they give us the best shot for entire season !

As a manga reader, it's pretty funny going from the current storyline over there, where some very heavy and serious shit is going down, back to the anime where it's mostly a bunch of silly shenanigans. Huge contrast there lol
