what are the motors on the pto, are they all blue motors?, trying to understand more on pto, But nice Bot very cool design as well as thanks for listing the black spray paint
Everything is on blue cartridges. The pto gears are 36T and and there are two 24T in between them (so 4 gears in a row). Then on top of back pto gear is 36T which is connected to a 60T Ratchet. This is then geared down 1:3 and then 1:3 again with a compound gear ratio so the catapult is like 40 rpm. On top of the 24T gear closest to front pto is another 36T gear directly attached to 24T sprocket. This sprocket then connects to a 16T sprocket on the intake so the intake stays 600 rpm.

Hey, i have a question on the blocker, in the video the first ig stage of the blocker is the one powered by the cylinder connected to the chassis and the second stage is powered by the one on top like you mentioned. can this still be done using one piston ? at first i though it was with one because of the angle . So the first stage goes up and the cylinder on top make the other extend ? confirm or not please. I am trying to do a variation of your blocker and wanted to see if it was one or two and i know you stated you wanted to try with rope. Did you get that working?
the first stage is powered by two pistons mounted on the chassis and the second stage is powered by a separate third piston. We are still working on our rebuild and haven't gotten to the blocker yet but we will most likely use the same design. String is a bit of a hassle as we had a prototype that kind worked but it wasn't very taut at the top so we just used a piston instead. It's definitely doable with string tho
@@Taran_K ahh i see thank you for confirming, as well as the inspiration , cant wait to see the new bot if you make a reveal since this one was really good
Hey dude I have just started VEX robotics little under then a month ago and I had my first competition 2 week agos. I have seen variations of this robot all over the place and robots that literally have the same design like the launcher and wings. I wanted to know if there was any where in VEX where I could learn to build this type of robots since I'm pretty new. How long did it take you to learn the building of the robots and do you know where I can learn?
Hey, so this is our like 6th year of doing VEX so we all are pretty well versed in building robots at this point. But the way we all started learning to build was just looking at youtube videos and trying to copy it. I am currently using the same method on my brother's first year team and it seems to be working pretty well. Give that a shot!
Well, first you just figure out how to build things strong. It's not like any of the teams out here are using an instruction manual. It's knowledge of how to create a lot of different systems, And how to try and make them work well. And for the record this is a very unique bot, just because of the amount of PTOs on it really

How do you dye the gears or is it just spray paint
semicolon released a video
what type of paint do you use to dye, and how do you dye it? I want to dye our rebuild bot
check out semicolon's video on how to do so. The dye can be used on all plastic parts while you should annodize or spray paint for your metal.
Great robot, can I know what you did exactly to dye your gears. I tried the semicolon method but with vinegar and it only worked on sprockets
We got a bowl and filled it with water, acetone, and black dye. We heated it up to around 170C. Then we put the parts in and after about 15 minutes they were done.
I think you would need acetone depending on the color as acetone is used to remove the current dye/color on the plastic
I’ve heard that people have made it work with vinegar but oh well. Thank you
