This is another cool Milford Junction compilation. It is neat to see the strobes working on the Chessie motors. That 6681 West went from zero to eight in about 20 seconds. When I watch videos from that era I'm impressed with how the trains moved with a sense of urgency, like they had somewhere to go quickly. Nowadays, most freights seem to just plod along, and nothing bangs over diamonds at track speed anymore.
I think the conrail engine had a Leslie s3l instead of a prime 920. The domeback chambers looked a ton like the prime power chambers and they were made during Penn Central’s run. Could be wrong but that’s just a hunch.

I spent many hours and days at Milford it was close to home.

The B&O was better then. Yeah fewer trains but it had character then. Good stuff and thats how i remember CSX as a teen!
