hello mam, is CPC certification must to get a job?. I have four years of experience working for US based doctors under two different specialties under their initial guidance. So I have exposure to both coding and little bit of billing but no certification. Now I am looking for a job. Is it possible to get a job with prior experience or should I get certified? Please guide me.

Ive a doubt recently i attend one pre interview discussion section of Optum as a fresher after getting CPC... before i worked as medical biller in Omega So Optum rejected me because of my previous experience but that was in billing not in coding they rejected me because i already had a pf account... Even though i didnt ve any previous experience in coding they considered me as an experienced candidate... Can u please explain me the logic behind this. Im so upset since then

Now they re looking for fresher hence I worked previously they couldnt hire me... So i negotiated and told them I never worked in pure coding and just 10 days back I cracked cpc and this is my 1st try for job as a Certified Medical Coder and I don't want any salary hike like an experienced one I'm ready to join as a fresher ... But they refused and the told since I've previous pf account it will reflect as an experienced coder that is against there company rules ☹️ I missed an opportunity and they told me to contact back after 1 month if they ve any openings for experieced one then they'll hire.
