I never miss a memorial day concert because they do it right , It's about the soldiers .God bless you Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise who never miss one and their hearts are truly in it , you can feel it
He is a magnificent singer. 28 years ago he created the role of Jean Valjean when Les Miserables made it's debut. This year Colm Wilkinson is featured as the priest in the recent release of the movie of the same name in which Hugh Jackman plays the role of Jean Valjean. Thanks for your interest.
What a beautiful tribute! Amazing video and Colm Wilkinson ended this on a perfect note. He is truly a gifted musician who knows how to put pure, raw emotion in his voice. I have never seen a more fitting use for this song - other than Les Mis. God bless our troops and those who have fought before them! They are who make it possible for us to be free!
Excellent vocalist and superb enterntainer as he adds so much intense passion to all his performances and he is coming to Dublin soon again. Another great night of entertainment ahead!
I will never forget those people who died. May they all rest in peace. Colm Wilkinson has a beautiful voice. This song still makes me cry and now makes me remember our fallen heros. Now I will go and thank army veteran I see now. Thank you for protecting us US Army.
true that. I was there myself. It was the first time I had tears since 2001. As a singer, as a person, as a man. I can't remember the last time I was this moved.
RIP to all who have fought and sacrificed themselfs for our country. Thankyou. In Les Miserables, This song was about Juan Valjean coming to terms that Marius injured and inlove with Cossette . Valjean prays for his his soon to be son in law and brings him home. But in this performance Colm sang what was in the hearts of all who love their soldier son and daughters. GOD BRING THEM HOME SAFE !!!!!!!
its great when someone can put such emotion into a song so you can really feel the songs sorrow or happiness if you want to hear another emotional song search for 'grace-the dubliners',great performance
I couldn't find the whole thing, but it was from the 2002 Concert. Here is an extended clip PBS has on FB: facebook.com/memorialdayconcert/videos/948438095183082/

I was at this performance. Incredibly moving. Not a dry eye anywhere. Colm Wilkinson has still got it.

Heavenly Father please bless our Nation in these hard times!
Colm is absolutely amazing. And this video broke my heart. Especially that man in the chair at the end...they risked their lives.
Absolutely breathtaking. The whole clip was so touching, and I cant describe how amazing it was to have Colm's song grace my ears again.
