    Totally 💯 true . From experience people at my country do delete both DPF + EGR as well as Adblue if equipped , then ECU remapped and programmed again due to these changes. Engine run cleaner and you can put an Engine Oil that have A3/B4 classification which is very good for running longer between oil changes. Additionally fuel burn more efficiently since Oxygen is high as result of deleting the EGR. One thing for those who want to do it , if your DPF works , you can do a custom exhaust pipe , save the DPF to be reinstalled again incase of any regulatory issues.
    Your engine definitely will last longer as results of this delete.
    Last advice , use injector cleaner with upper cylinder lubricant often ( every 2K miles ) , your high pressure fuel pump , injectors and your engine will Thank you very much and last longer.

      I use at every second full of diesel. I do oil change about 7-8000 km and even faster after winter when i do a bit of idle to warm up, i also change gear oil and antifreeze like at 3 - 4 years old .
      Oil is cheap and parts cost a lot .
      I agree with what you say.
      This engine now rebuild 3 year ago will last me to my pension.
      With 8 liters / 100 km and 300 hp and 0-100 km/hour in 5-6 seconds this is more than fast enough for me. If i go on highway at 130 km/h and floor it , it goes to 200 in a few second and keep pushed in the seat. Way more than enough !!! I have no need for that like ever . But it feel good to know is there. Sometimes i like to have bit of fun.
      I think the 635d is a lot of car value for the money it cost . Options very good too. Got pretty much all you want in a car. Navigation is a bit old but for cheap apple play can be added. Music sound excellent, ac is very good, heating too, seats very good and all electric, good lights, i mean what more you want in a sporty car 🤣

    I’m glad I found this video. I’ve been thinking about the dpf deletion on my recently purchased 2008 Ford Mondeo Titanium X 2.2D. It’s currently on 133,000 miles and the dpf is currently half full @ the .5 reading. But the engine behaves & goes like it should.
    Except for the odd cough or stutter at particular rev’s.
    So your video & it’s comments have made me more favourable at removing the dpf & egr completely.
    But I now feel I need to get the compression & injectors checked first.

      Just remove oil cap and see if you have much blow by . If acceptable remove dpf and keep car . Listen to it . If it sound smooth and no blow by is ok

      Injector clean, turbo check and fix if needed , new glow plugs, intake manifold and valves clean, new oil and filters , new antifreeze and a good flush and empty the dpf completely not drilled inside . And sure a good remap from good people not incompetent idiots.

    I did the same.. saved my T5 from terminal problems and 2 years of soft limp mode. The forced regens damage the engine !!! in my opinion. Once the job was done the engine had a fantastic high revving power. However the true cause later surfaced that the turbo was leaking oil a lot into the DPF and the exhaust manifold was warped causing a pressure leak. However I did not change the oil enough I recommend 5k oil changes or 2x per year.

    excellent video - same in my BMW (EGR/DPF delete and car is much healthier) but you do not need to blank the EGR unless it is stuck open. You can shut it permanently at the ECU.

      @@ihsanpenny9945 i think mine was stuck open . It destroyed the throttle valve and had to change it . Blocking is 100% sure tho and does no harm

      @mihairadupop2491 if it was stuck open it would melt the intake manifold, but it depends on how early you caught it. Mine is shut permanently on ecu with dpf delete too. Much better for the cars and oil seems to last a lot longer as you said. I still change it every 6000 kms though

      this comment is another example of small minded thinking. It’s about reducing particulates in the air near where people live. Next time you’re by a busy road just have a look at the thin film of black grime on nearby surfaces. Imagine what you don’t see in the air.

      @@lx5103 Yup, unfortunately the diesel particulates get stuck in the pulmonary alveoli and cancer is a possibility. I can tell easily when an idling car has no DPF, the sensation in my body is horrible.

      they remain there and the new software will act acc to them being there. I did not remove them. I do not know what the software does but i think it uses them as the fuel consumption seem to be a bit better than when it had dpf. Like 0,5 liters / 100 km better

    Removed my dpf and remapped. Car runs better with no smoke but I don’t remember if car had such exhaust odor as it has now when engine is cold

      Pretty much the same. I like to keep litters/100 km, is about 7.5 in the summer and like 9.5 in the winter.
      I do not need the car much since I got the new van. It got to a point where i drive it just to go out in weekends or if i have a longer trip to keep it moving. The problem when u spend a lot to fix a car ... nobody wanna buy it even at cost of all repairs. So i think is gonna be with me until the day is getting scrapped. Is in good condition, so i will get 5 to 10 years out of it. By than the technology will be on electric or hydrogen we will see. If someone made me a good offer i would sell as i do not need it and we already have 2 cars except this one.

      @@davidcarvalho1904 yeah, i did not put down pipe i cut the dpf off the car and made it into a silencer keeping the flow diameter correct . So it looks like it has the dpf but inside of it is just a stainless pipe and ceramic foam for sound dampen . So gas flow with no restrictions . And block the egr with a metal plate . Not just delete in computer .
      Make sure all on the engine is fine, glow plugs must all work and fit new. All manifold and valves clean and flaps removed and pcv valve new. Also make sure maf values are good when doing the delete. Also new filters, oil , in gear and engine and new antifreeze. Want it running perfect to make the delete and have no smoke . Also run a few botle of injector cleaner

      Dpf is deleted in software. I think you mean physical removal. I do not recommend is a lot of work . Is not easy on 635d . Unless u good at mechanics.
      If u cant afford to pay for it a ramp, sell the car. Is a very expensive car to run.
      This car eat up like 2000 a year in costs and is not even my every day driver. And i mean here repairs not taxes.

      Yea, but you still need to empty the dpf as is blocking the exhaust and destroy turbo . Is making pressure before the dpf and choke the car. Is like you try breath out with a nose full of mucus .
      Must be taken off and empty is no other way. You can put the empty case back to look “ stock “ . All the rest of the exhaust can stay .

    After months of DPF problems and attempts to rectify it with no success I am considering getting the dpf gutted and my EGR blocked for my Mercedes GLA I had two questions. Will I have problems when it comes to the MOT and is there any sort of benefit getting the swirl flaps removed aswell?

      I pass Mot with no problems. They can not see inside the dpf as you cut on the weld itself and weld back on the weld. I know how to weld well so when I was done and polished and clean all it looked as before. Remove flaps too as they can brake and fall in the engine. And than is bye bye engine. You can not revive a bad dpf ! if is like 100 k and is bad that is it. Their life is 150k aprox. Is also the fact that engine being older make more carbon and is a cascade effect. I just looked at my tail pipes today as i washed the car. Is all black and full of carbon . And my engine was rebuild i have perfect compression and clean calibrated injectors. Do what i said and stop worry about it or go rebuild your engine and put a new original dpf . If you prepared to spend about 10 k on the car and want it as from the factory.

Also I’m assuming that I would only need the ecu calibrated to account for the hollow DPF and not remapped is that correct?

      @@globaltech6396 they software they do is a remap in itself. There are 3 stages of power. Get the lowest one. As you did not upgrade the rest of the components. You do not make a lot of sense in your questions.

    i have just had my dpf removed along with egr shut off and stage 1. drives great but please can anyone tell me how it will pass an mot without any dpf or cat as i believe they are in the same section straight after the manifold. its a 2014 2 series 218d. any help or advice would be great also there is a smell of fumes now when car is ticking over. thanks in advance.

      The testers don't actually read grams of CO2 or whatever. My MOT tester is the one who advised me to get the EGR and DPF mapped out when I had issues with them.

    Do you can remove physicaly the sensors attached to the dpf? with bosch edc16 c35 the reports say "combined solution". I have a 335d m57 with a tune, i bought with a tune already and the sensors are missing but the car runs great. Any problem?

      Yes. And is quite important you do so fast. Is a simple 10 min job to put a metal plate there and block it.

    Pentru MOȚ ai nevoie de un friendly tester sau ar trebui să traca oricum? Am făcut egr și DPF și sincer nu fumează de loc, are miros a “golf 4 diesel” dar în rest trage mai bine și e mult mai economică, și să aude puțin turbina fain la tobe :))

    Hey man, my DPF is probably clogged up, it's in the 'emergency state' and the spiral loop is on the dashboard. Most garages I went to said they could not find any faulty errors but said they were almost a 100% sure it was a DPF. It's a Polo 1.4 2015 BlueMotion Diesel manual, it has only 130.000 miles which is not a lot for considering it's age. The garage said a new DPF will be around 5000 euros!! Crazy, considering I bought the car for around 8000 euros. Do you think a DPF removal and delete would be best in this case? Just to remove the inside filter of the DPF, close off the EGR, and turn off the EGR in the ECU? Thanks in advance.

      Yes, and find a good company to make your remap to stage 1 . Don’t even bother to take to garage is pointless.
      Take off dpf, remove all from inside and weld back and put it back empty. Put new glow plugs on the engine. Block egr completely and remap it. Will be just fine.

      @@cleangodetailer if u do short trips u need 3000 mile oil changes and your valves and injectors cleaned constantly. Valves you should clean anyway every 50 k with walnut blasting. And run a spray clean every 10 k for prevention.
      Diesels are not for short trips !
      Dpf or not. Is about oil temperature and heating up not about dpf.
      At least take it out once a week and drive it like an hour on highway.
      You kill a diesel even old ones without dpf in 10 min drives and than shut down and again 10 min next day. Worst you can do for a diesel. Buy a petrol for that.
      The bmw 635 d and similar cars are GT , thats a grand tourer. Means for a big fucking long trip not go buy potatoes at aldi 2 miles away. 😉

      @@cleangodetailer what short trip does is carbon up the engine and the rings and than you lose compression and is game over. There is no fix for it.
      I do flush every oil change . That helps but if u never done it and u got 130 k … you risk more damage. Flush is grate if you do since the car is new . If the car is full of sludge than that need a engine take apart and clean manually . If it blocks an oil passage to a shaft bearing is fucked . Or to the variable time valves .
      But if u do flush and 5000 mile oil change since new and clean valves and injectors . You will leave it for your grand kids. It will run to 1 mil km .
      My dad did that to his old car, he had from new. Car went to scap at 32 years old engine was still original. Still ran just a bit oil consumption. 1.2 mil on the clock. Body was all rusted due to age and interior all worn but engine still worked.
      This days they do all they can to make your car blow up at 100k .
      But you can do a lot to prevent that.

      Depends how good of a job you will do at welding . If welded right on the exact same place it was factory welded you can not tell. I weld for a living , is my job . So i did it good . If you do not specialise in this pay someone who is.

      UK is currently piloting a new MOT test measuring the particulate numbers. That will get rolled out and will be part of MOT. Cannot think how that can be cheated! @@bbglas007

      I don’t know, i did not measure before and after . But it does 1100 km on a tank . Fuel is the least of the worry on this car. A set of tyres is 1000 gbp 😂
      If thats your worry do not buy a bmw is not cheap on parts. I measured when i was in Ro last time it did 6.4 % highway .

      @@aaronx137 my engine inline 6 diesel twin turbo did on last trip Lancaster - London and back 5.59 litter / 100 km. I filled up when left than again full when home and did the math. I also drove like 70-90 .

    Hi mate recently done a dpf delete on my 330d all is fine however the smell is horrible, is this normal and isit bad for you?

      Yes is the effect of removing dpf. Is toxic stuff. Will die from cancer now like the rest of us. Maybe not if you lucky . No really now … dpf are good to save air but the system is very expensive . Is a choice. You chose to pollute like me. See you in hell buddy i ll keep seat warm for you near me.

    Hi. I wanted to ask a question about the the glow plugs and glow plug relay . For some reason no one wants to take this job on as they say the glow plugs are very fragile and will crumble when tried to he removed destroying the engine . Is this something you have come across before ? . I have a bmw 335D F31 . Was wondering if anyone can advice on this matter .

      It is a very hard job. Only experienced mechanic would recommend for this .
      You will need to keep car off the road for a few days. Put penetrant oil and ease them and put more and ease some more . Is something you do not touch unless you got the tools and know exactly what you doing as you brake them in and then is hard to get out

      @@munimuni5168 might be surprised but all it take is a good drill and an extractor kit. Is not expensive to get the tools but the experience to do it without damage to block . Thats hard to find. The guy who has the hand for the job and the balls to drill it out just right. I learned in the old days how . It takes a lot of practice but is doable . Must find old maister who still alive and has the skill.

      Yeah i have it. Compared to a Toyota ? Than no. Is a high performance diesel with over 300 hp that makes more than 40 mpg. It will be high on care but is a good car in general . Very few left in good condition .

      @@k-9k-97 160k miles. Timing chain is original, minor electric fails . As in window regulators and like glow plugs , throttle body . Not big things. But i do look after it well. Is a very nice car for what is worth . I mean for the money it costs, is a hell of a car

      @@k-9k-97 i just did a trip to London from Lancaster. Left full tank and came back between quarter and half. Checked oil before and after. Did not go down at all. I change at 3-4 k miles. There is no drop at all. I think for a 15 year old car is very good .
      Plus i go like 70 on the highway and if i floor it than it will pull, like pull hard . I like it.

      @@aamo10 a lot, thousands . If you have a major engine failure on the 635 d considering the age of the car is not worth fixing any more.
      Is because of very high labour cost to replace engine . They are old cars now, mine is 2009 . Is 15 years old.
      How many miles on that engine u got ?

      @@aamo10 yeah, i don’t know how that happen, they very good engines if well cared for they go 3-400 k no probs.
      I cant help you, you need a good diesel mechanic to open it up . Is a matter of luck now. 120k miles is nothing for a 635d . Can do 3 times as much . Was it bad cared for ? Abused ? Is very very rare your fault

    Salut.Abia te am descoperit. Am schimbat un 2015 Seat Leon 2.0 TDI FR estate cu un Audi A6 2.0 TDI ultra, are și Adblue pe lângă DPF și EGR. Mașina e din 2016, aș vrea să o țin pentru ceva timp, deși le schimb cam la 3 ani 😂 Mi ar place un 3 litri diesel de la BMW sau Audi. Revenind la ce griji am acum, mașina are 111k miles, merge foarte bine, să aștept până am probleme sau mă gândeam să fac EGR and DPD delete și Adblue cat mai curând cu remap după? Ai pe cineva de încredere aici în UK? Stau pe lângă Harrow dar mă pot deplasa dacă e nevoie. Mulțumesc în avans. Weekend plăcut.

    So... you have a bad glow plug (100£ let's say), the ECU doesn't regenerate and the DPF gets blocked. You deleted the DPF,EGR, remaped the ECU for 1000£+. After that you've changed the glow plug... 🤨

      @@alexdragomirescu5084 you have a bad glow plug and you do not know because most people if they get no check engine they never put a scanner to look ! When was last time you put scaner on it and read all your codes ? I do every oil change to see .
      Dpf get blocked , and by time you get check engine dpf is 70% blocked, pr more, your turbo is already damaged , and you are in limp mode.
      This was not my doing. The idiot who had the car did this and sold the car at 70k miles with both turbos worn and dpf dead so i got it dirt cheap and fixed all and yes put fucking new glow plugs and now i got 170k and car is still going grate.
      If he would have done like a 30k mile service, put new glow plugs he would be still driving it .
      30k , you take off glow plugs and change if needed and put them back. So you can still remove them.
      30k oil in gear box and filter
      5 k engine oil and filter and air filter
      60k all manifold and valve clean off the car done by yourself
      60k flush the antifreeze and put new
      60k change steering fluid and brake fluid .
      Do this and car will last you a very very long time . About 500 k then the engine will eventually wear and chain will wear but that is a very long time most people drive that in a life time

      @@mihairadupop2491 that's my point...people go to the "mechanic" because the car has a problem. The "mechanic" reads the codes with a cheap obd scanner and get a long list of codes (usually 😀). The only thing the "mechanic" sees is "dpf blocked" so he says...you need to change the dpf. 95% of times there's a problem before the dpf. It's amazing that certain "mechanics " even after 20 years of DPFs on cars cannot understand the system.... At least I hope you've got it for cheap 👍

      @@alexdragomirescu5084 i paid 4000 for it with the rest of the car being 1 owner and full service at bmw ( LooL ) they missed the glow plugs 😂😂😂.
      It had 63000 miles and looked mint inside out.
      A glow plug killed turbo, killed dpf. Quote from them was like 10k . The guy sold it.
      I delete dpf as per video.
      I take turbo off and have them rebuild .
      Did all cleaning , new glow plugs all serice and all the brake job complete new too and new wheel bearings and pretty much anything it was needed . Wanted it perfect .
      Even had the interior professional detail and leather restored .
      Today has 170 k, i looked after it , proper serviced . Drove with care . Car is going grate and is very fast.
      I will be moving to Usa next year i will probably need to sell . I am gutted i have to give it up. I honestly wanna cry even thinking about it . I will buy bmw again there. Probably the M . That will cheer me up . Not sure what bmw will buy there… but it will be 3 L or more 6 inline or v8 . Dont like talk about it i really love this car make me sad to let go.

      What about a failing turbo that is leaking oil into the DPF, resulting in it blocking/failing regens? No codes, other than DPF excess pressure etc/regen failing. Turbo was considered operationally fine by ECU.
      If completely unknown, how do you advise to diagnose (cheaply)? In the scenario above, I decided to DPF delete it, and then once it was obvious turbo was leaking oil into exhaust system, replace turbo. In the UK DPF deletion is very cheap, especially if you can do it yourself/know someone.

      @@swoogles4093 is not that expensive to rebuild a turbo. Just do them so you have them ok . Really don’t want turbo failure on a highway get stranded.
