Zelda Deserves A Better Game!

- Hey everybody, thanks for taking the time to watch this video! In today's Video, I talked about my thoughts and feelings on the trailer for "Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom" and how disappointing I found it as Zelda's first game. I hope she gets a better game to star in but I'm curious to hear what you all have to say, so feel free to leave it down in the comments below!

Hey that's completely valid and I'm glad you're excited for it at least! I think the game itself doesn't look bad and I want to play it too, I just wish we got something larger for such an Iconic character's debut title. I do totally get not liking the latest entries though as they're very different and a complete tonal shift for the series which is upsetting to long-term Zelda fans. In my opinion, this was the best option. Going for a previous style keeps it familiar before going into completely uncharted territory. They could then hear the feedback from players and adjust accordingly for a Zelda Zelda game that hits harder.
Nice, I like your perspective and I completely understand where you're coming from, if the fans are vocal enough about any issues then I'm sure Nintendo will listen for the next time at least

Hey it's worth a shot though! I am interested in trying out the game when it comes out, my problem isn't with the game itself but more importantly that this is Zelda's first real game! I think she just deserves a different type of game for her debut but that's just my opinion, and I'm just glad that she's getting a game at all in the first place. I'm sorry you didn't like my opinion but I hope you found the video alright, and I appreciate you giving your opinion and critiquing my own as it helps me understand other Zelda fans more!
this feels like a test to see how the players react to having a different playable character without wasting that much budget, i do agree zelda deserves a bigger game but this is a safe start
Yeah honestly if I had to place a bet on it, I’d argue Nintendo just wanted to see how we’d react to Zelda as a protagonist. I also feel like it’s kinda obvious most Zelda fans would like that, but it’s Nintendo so what can you do lol
This is pretty much EXACTLY how I feel. It feels like they've made Zelda a bit diminutive and cutesy rather than a badass warrior princess which is what I'd like to see. If I were making decisions at Nintendo I'd take the risk of creating an artsy, edgy game for her with unique abilities that have some kind of legacy like you mentioned and unique ways to solve puzzles, some kind of functionality that would attract players on its own so the draw is not JUST to play it because it's Zelda so it would be even more commercially viable. Though I think the desire to play as Zelda is viable enough on its own. I really hope it does well enough that they put out better games for her. Though I look forward to playing this one as well as the concept is intriguing enough for me that it looks really fun.
Yeah thanks for taking the time to comment and I agree 100%! Zelda as a character would fit a much more darker and edgier title, something like Twilight Princess where she can really be seen as on par as Link. She’s famous enough to not need a “gimmick” that Nintendo always adds, but still this game doesn’t look bad and I’d like to try it, but it’s disappointing that this Zelda’s debut game!
I completely agree, I was pretty disappointed when I saw that Zelda’s first real game was gonna be reusing another art style. I feel like they could’ve done something more unique in terms of style and gameplay. I’m still gonna play it ofc but I wish they would’ve went more all out with her first game. Also agree with her staff or whatever she uses, she uses magic in so many games I wish they would’ve went more in depth with that. I think I’ll still enjoy the game but I was hoping it would go a little differently.
Ah I'm glad we share similar beliefs! but hopefully the game is impressive and surpasses my expectations, and hopefully they'll make a more creative game for Zelda next time (whenever that may be)
I think if it was the other way around and if Link's Awakening had a different art style and Echoes of Wisdom kept this art style, It wouldn't be so bad. But honestly for me, I see nothing wrong with it at all. Stacking tables and beds is kinda funny, but being able to spawn enemies is still mind-blowing. We're definitely going to buy it, play it, and love it. I can see this game having more replay value than Tears of The Kingdom and that's being dead honest. So let's goo! Hey I’m glad you’re so excited about the game and honestly I’m very optimistic about it too even if I didn’t show it. I wish we had something more original for Zelda’s debut but I still think there’s a lot of creativity that can be in the game, but we won’t really know for sure until then so all we can do is ponder! Finally, someone who actually gets the point I was trying to get across with this game. It just feels like another “quick gimmick” and it’s hidden by the fact that this is Zelda because oh she gets a game now too. But why can’t she be as awesome as Shiek? Why can’t she have some of the things you mentioned in the video, the day/night cycle was brilliant.
I just don’t understand why Nintendo is SO OBSESSED with crafting. It’s been crafting now for near 7-8 years straight. Enough of crafting/copy paste stuff. I’m so over it.
Give me a real game with Zelda as the main character, using her sweet staff, to wreck enemies, and utilize her magic. Not this gimmick of her using a wand to try and do everything.
It is playing it safe, you’re right. Low investment in art style, a formula that keeps working with crafting. But while it’s nice she gets her own game, I do not think this is the correct way to do it with this gimmicky gameplay.

I think we agree on a lot for what’s best for Zelda and honestly I do agree that Nintendo has been too reliant on crafting for their last couple of games, Animal Crossing and Zelda specifically haven’t been the best additions to the series. I don’t mind the crafting stuff itself but it does feel like Nintendo needs to figure out how to make the crafting more natural and fit the games better. All in all though it’s nice Zelda’s getting A game at least, but hopefully her next game actually fits her character more
3:18 - I wouldn't even call it a weapon. I have no clue to how Zelda is supposed to save link by duplicating coffee tables. When I heard about the game where Zelda is the main character I thought of shiek or some more offensive spells. Idk if the fights will be even fun. I had hoped for a more dark, dirty and "mature" look like twillight princess
Exactly where I'm coming from! I really wanted Zelda's debut title to be something akin to Twilight Princess as that was her coolest presentation in my opinion. Even making a game around Sheik wouldn't have been the worst option compared to just throwing objects in the world, especially when Link can already do that to an extent in the older games!
