Chorus:
'Cause I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
Yes, I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well, I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you

2024 and this song still rocks. Anyone else agree?
Me my teen years!! 💃🏻
Me, me, me !!
F&$k goddamn, ya!!! The first American hard rock
Groovy times. 🎵🎶🎵
My first album
These guys were actually pretty heavy for their day. that's what I've always like about them. Great band
They had good, hip production too!
That fuzz guitar tone is just kick ass! But yeah, they did have a great production team behind them. Great music from a magical time so long ago.
Yeah, they were really on top of their sound quality back then and they had a great, catchy band name to boot .
I was born in 1972, my oldest sister waas born in 1958. This song was indeed considered "heavy" in its day.
Heavy and they had some serious grit. The American answer to the stones.
I was listening to this as I was fixing that antenna
I was listening to this when some creepy fucking hippy showed up at my house
“Who’s this shaggy asshole...?”
This hit song got to be number 1 of the 60's.
Paul Revere and the Raiders were heavy before there was heavy
Who's here with HUNGRY in 2024?
2024..
I'm here!!!!!!
Oh, hell yeah!
One Raider present and accounted for!
The 25 seconds following the 2:07point are the best 25 seconds in rock history. Stellar leads, driving rhythm section, soulful rock screams and ahh-ahh that make it an anthem. Highly underrated band.
The Beatles "hit" the US in '64. PR+TR released "Hungry" in '66. Among other influences, McCartney's and Starr's steady rhythm, and the bass line in "Hungry," I knew I was a drummer. Got my set in '68.
If you wish to know the difference between "kids" today and those in the mid-sixties, attitudinally, pick a top-ten song today, play it, then play "Hungry." Kids today often seem to come with a pre-broken heart.
pretty damn good from ca. 1:30
This song would rock in any era! Great vocal, fantastic snarly fuzz guitar, tight rhythm section--an underrated classic.
Made in the USA!
100% spot on!! This tune has badass swag!!!
Absolutely! They almost "out-garage-rocked" The Animals!
How do you feel about the USA today? Yeah, pretty sad, right?@@dvtco.2545
That FUZZ bass! I never get tired of this gem
VOX..
WAY under rated to this day. Rocks as good now as it did back then
Paul Revere and the Raiders were so good!
AHEAD OF THE TIMES
Shit, I really love this song!
This Song Went To Number 6 On The Billboard Hot-100 Chart In 1966.
The 1960's had the best music for sure, and this was one of best bands !!
You could get away with playing "Hungry" live, anytime. As a DJ, if you were rocking hard enough in the '70s, the bass line would carry the song just fine.
I think that people who don’t know this is the band in the silly costumes, would be surprised listening to this song with Marks vocals. It’s a really good song. Mark Lindsey should’ve gotten more notice. He had a great voice. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Oh, we definitely noticed Mark! 👀
And that style for bands was common in those days.
They were my first concert when I was 13 years old. But the other girls were screaming so loud I could hardly hear them. LOL But it was great. I had a huge crush on Mark Lindsay.
My friends sister too, photos of him all over her bedroom walls- I thought they were really a great band. Lindsay is underrated as a singer.
You are a lucky woman miss
Also the first band I ever saw at Chicago’s Coliseum.
1967 maybe? Fun band.
Cool!
Has ha. Same here. First band I ever saw live. And it was at the Coliseum in ‘67
That vocal from "Gonna live each minute" through the scream is one of my all-time favorite vocal parts. That's got to be rock's most underrated scream.
Oh yeah,,,,
Of the best in rock history.
Yep, yep, yep! That's the part you can't wait to hear, and then that outro....then you pick up the needle and play it again!
They were one of only a handfull of bands at the time, that I actually spent my allowance money on buying their singles! I didn't buy their albums.....that remained reserved for The Beatles until their demise.....but I really dug this band! Used to watch them all the time on "Where The Action Is"!
Can't get any better for a US song during the day. Great song writers handing this song to a great band, recorded with instruments played by the great LA Wrecking Crew session musicians. And then, Mark Lindsay, one of the strongest and most compelling rock vocalists of his day. A three-minute masterpiece of rock.
2022 still got it
Wrecking Crew only came in for Indian Reservation in 1969-70. That's all Raiders on Hungry. Phil Volk's original bass line, then recorded again one octave higher and then fuzz bass, which gave it that heavy driving bass. The Raiders played all over the Northwest and west prior to signing with Columbia in 1965. Wrecking Crew was responsible for many hit records, but not with this band until the original core members left(lead guitarist, bass, and drums)
Written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, who also wrote Kicks. All-time great Pop songwriters.
Real Rock long live the 60's!
Where the Action Is...July 1965 or 66
Damn I love this song!!! Listening in 2021!!
And 2022!!
Oh yes we all remember where we were
Everybody gangsta until Charles Manson nock the door asking for Terry and Dennis Wilson
And nobody was the wiser
But he seemed to be so polite.
@@edwardcricchio6106 “Ma’am”
@@matthewrocca4197 the music in that scene fit so damn well, like an opera almost
Sharon Tate is playing "Good Thing",while Charles Manson is "hungry for a good thing"
One of my fav 45’s that went to every slumber party
This is an outstanding song
i remember when it was released..............
Raiders gave us some real good 60s rock, didn’t they??!!
You bet they Did!!
Then we enjoyed today never thought about the 70s at all!! Now it’s 2024 We NEVER thought about that at all!
I love the fuzz guitar after the chorus.
the Nirvana bit? sounds like Mr. Moustache
@@crieverytim hahaah great catch!
Great time to be a teen ager back then. Unique music.
1:51 this part is sooo 60's, love love it
In the "alternate version" here on UA-cam there is a guitar there, it's quite different
Admit it , is a very emotional, sexy, song . I remember it when I was a kid . Also ' Good Thing ' was a big hit on the radio then .
They were definitely a musical group that helped set the stages of that very historical decade-
Paul Revere&The Raiders were&still r the shit!!!

Psalm 37:4 (KJV) ❤
"Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
A great band a great singer definitely one of the best Vocals in rock!
Loved their stuff as a kid in the 60’s. Rediscovering them now. Mark Lindsay’s voice is nothing short of stellar. Of the best ranges I’ve ever heard.
Mark had a real voice .This is a good song.
As a small kid I remember hearing that heavy bass groove at 1:52, and thinking that was the coolest thing in the world. It was a pretty heavy groove for that era of music. I wasn't even in school yet, my older sister bought this album when it came out, and I used to listen to it a bunch.
No words can describe Mark's great vocal work here.
Mr Moustache by Nirvana future influence at 0:56... the melody actually runs throughout the entire song pretty much though.
Meh, it's just a random chromatic run.
Meh, it's just a random chromatic run.
🤣
HEY! Who’s listening? 2020...🎶
I'm listening because UA-cam keeps deleting earlier uploads of songs that I have to download again. Saw these guys in Pensacola 1967.
Me...2020 doing nostalgia music
Whenever I am feeling troubled I do Music therapy !!!!!!!
In the 60s, they were the number 3 best selling band behind the Beatles and the Monkees!
Wow! They even outsold The Rolling Stones?
Terry Melcher production in top form 💥
@Bill Diehl of Midwest Federal Unfortunately, Terry died of cancer in 2004. Only 62 years old.
I grew up on this stuff. Always loved these guys. They were on tv a lot, the house band for a show called “Where the Action Is”
I remember that show, as a kid!
Brings back memories, when I was young.
Love the bass in this tune! Believe it was being played on a Farfisa Keyboard. So deep and clear sounding! Loved it when it came out and still do.
I had this 45 rpm as a kid. It was the flipside of "Kicks". TWO great sides !
This is better than kicks imo
Girl you got this need to know what I'm all about
There's something that you dig you can't figure out
Well, you wanna know what moves my soul
And what ticks inside of my brain
But I've got this need I just can't control, and it's
A-drivin' me insane
I can't take it! Owww!
Because I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
I can almost taste it
It's sweet as wine
There's a custom-tailored world that I wanna own someday
With a special place up high where we can stay alone you and me
Girl, I'm gonna have it all someday if you'll
Just hang on to my hand
If I break some rules along the way, girl, you
Gotta understand
It's my way of gettin' what I want now, 'cause I'm hungry
Because I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
I can almost taste it now
Oh, it's sweet as wine
Ain't gonna waste it now
When it's finally mine
Gonna live each minute, fill the hours and days
'Til I've had my fill
Aw, girl, I'll be rollin' in it
Yes, yes, you know I will, yes I will, owww!
('cause I'm)
Because I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
Because I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
Now i can understand the song by reading the lyrics and not multitask like searching it up on my phone but then you tube don't do that mini pop up video on the right hand corner bottom of your phone because it's copyright and that's bs
great job 👍
I like the grit in Paul's voice!
My favorite Raiders song. And I don’t care if she tells Jim Morrison.
Greatest song ever.
Timeless song by Paul Revere& The Raiders.
Love there music. 60s forever.
His voice is ultra cool.......what a crushing epic pop song.......
These guys really got DOWN & ROCKED!
My personal favorite PR & Raiders song!
1:50 what a banger goddamit.
"I can almost taste it" - Tarantino chose this exact part when Manson sees Sharon Tate for the first time
my sister had this album, and I wore it out....holds the test of time in my opinion...
1966 , what a great year!!!! Yeah!!!!
I grew up watching these guys on Where The Action Is. Yes, they could rock with the best.
I saw them in Miami 1965 taping the show “where the action is” in Miami Beach
I'm here because ...... my dad knew Paul Revere and the boys ;-)
Pictures or it never happened

@@BB-vq6cb dude .... this was early 1960's ..... Caldwell, Idaho ...... pre Google you ass-clown.
One of the early clues to how things worked. I knew if I could get that bass line working behind me in life, I was going to be all right. And ho-lee sh-wow, was I right.
I'm hungry for some good music
9 years old, riding shotgun in my big sister's VW Beetle. She was relegated with babysitting baby brother, as she either TO or FROM her sorority house at KU in Lawrence, KS. WHB-AM played this song God knows how many times, it was definitely on the charts at the time. The very first time I'd ever heard it. I was hooked immediately, been there ever since. \m/\m/
Nirvana's Mr. Moustache at 0:55??
Brent Garcia I thought the same thing!!!
It's definitely an influence on M M.
Great punk, garage , psych tune from late 65-early 66 wen I was 8 years old in the 3rd grade , seeing friends bros. , and neighbors sons sent to SouthVietnam from 65-69 ; last one hm late 1971 , All classic PSTD cases.
Bad ass tune !
Just heard this song on The marvelous Misses Maisel
Which episode?
not sure which episode
That show has great music!
I can vividly recall 1965..
the Byrd's peak popularity.
Their music was timely for
The day and age.
To all of those saying "This sounds like Mr. Moustache", this does not sound like Mr. Moustache, Mr. Moustache sounds like this. Mr. Moustache was released over 20 years after this song was released.
I think maybe they're "HUNGRY" for their "KICKS" ! !
😆😆🤙🤙Man this takes me back to junior high 2008!!!!!!
In '67 this was numero uno in the day room on Yap Island
Thanks for sharing this. What an awesome song from an awesome band! They were a great hard rock band.
amen to that
My favorite
Gonna live each minute
Such a fine band for that day.
I had this Album & about 3 other Raider LP'S. Those Guys were Great!
Bad ass!! The best!! Phil
The perfect three minute song. period.
Paul Revere & the fucken Raiders kick major ballz
Great song.
The intro kind of reminds me of the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour, released a year after Hungry
1:51 Charlie smile
Fantastic. saw them as a kid in Vancouver in the 1960's.
I can remember coming home from school and hearing this on the tv.
First concert I went to was Paul Revere at the Olympic Auditorium in LA around 1969-70. Little Richard was the lead in for these guys. He got the crowd GOING and they started getting up on the stage until there wasn't room for LR and he was singing and dancing on the grand piano. It was just a temporary stage and the whole thing collapsed! That was it. End of the show. Never got to see the headliners, but what I did see was unreal for a kid in the 8th grade.
Such a great song and awesome soundtrack!
1:50 We are not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
love the drums and lead guitar
Heard this tune 2 March 2024 on WORT-FM I Like It Like It Like That with host Rockin' John McDonald. Great Tune !!
mid 60s great years for Paul revere and the raiders summer of 66 Just started high school freshman. I’m saying that they really had a few good years just a right time for them to come in.🎵🎶1️⃣
The riff from Nirvana's 'Mr Moustache' is easily identified in this song.
So great, pure punk rock. The Animals but better!
Great song! I remember them on ‘where the action is’ cutting up, pushing the organ off the stage, etc. Crazy great!!!
I loved that show. When it got cancelled, I took a petition around my neighborhood to get it back. LOL

Peculiar. We loved their jams, laughed at their costumes and schtick. We were relieved when did an album cover dressed normally. Today, it brings joy to my heart to see video of them in their silly costumes making the jams we loved so much back in the day.
AMEN TO THAT jOHN
Rediscovered this awesome song in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, one of my top favorite movies now...this was music when music was music!
I'm so glad my dad had this in his record collection.
Izzy loves rock music 🎸🎶 💘 Enjoy 1977.
I can almost taste it now ..... !
This song is all about the baritone guitar.
