This video...where do I start? I worked on this for over 13 months! That makes it special in a way that none of my other videos have ever been. This was the first Star Wars video I ever started. Like I started this before I did my The Clone Wars rewatch that. And it gave me so much trouble. My old computer could not handle the big movie files, so for half a year working on this was basically impossible. But I still managed to edit about one minute of this spread over these months. I think I have listened to this song more often than anyone should because I wasn’t gonna give up on this video! And now, 13 months later I did it. I actually finished it!
Looking back to December 2019 is crazy! It feels like I started this video in another lifetime. Back then I was still studying history. I was 19. I was not having any plans or hopes for this channel. My mental health was about to have the worst downfall in my life and was shutting myself off from every social interaction.
And now everything has changed. I feel like I truly a different person now. This last year has taught me so much about myself, my dreams, and my abilities.
But you all are here for Anakin and not my life story so back to the video. Since I have been working on it for a long time it really is a blend of my editing styles over the last month. The title card is so different from what I am doing now but I kept it. That was the first thing I put in and for me, it is a little reminder of how long I have been working on this!
I started this before I had The Clone Wars on my computer and I always intended for it to be movie-only. I didn't really want to change that but I did put in Ahsoka's line from The Mandolorian. I mean how could I not? It fitted in there so well and now that we have it deserves to be in an Anakin edit. Also, that is my little "Hey Ahsoka exists and was an important part of Anakin's life" reference. (If she gets even just mentioned in like a flashback in the Kenobi series I am going to lose it! Hearing Hayden or Ewan talking about her sfjgbsdfhbydjbuibdgsdbguidsg)
So I know I am not the first person to use this song for Anakin. But when I picked it out I did not think about that and at the time I realized that it is a popular song for Anakin (who can blame us? it is perfect) I was already deep into the video. So yeah...I just went with the song regardless. I still think I made my own thing and honestly I am so damn proud of this video!
It is not as impactful or tries to get a message across like other videos I did. But it still has such a special place in my heart! This video is my baby!
A lot of videos I do with other people in mind but this one was for me. I am sharing it because I think others will like it too. But this one I truly made for me. This one is for 10-year old little Nicole who cried when she saw ROTS for the first time and how had lightsaber duels with her brother. Little Nicole who tried to get her friends to watch Star Wars and never succeeded (James, I haven't lost hope yet, someday you will watch these movies with me!).
