How To Test a Watch Using Calypso Waterproof Tester

- A simple guide how to use a pressure tester and how to test the waterproofness of a watch.
The pressure gauge on the tester shows the unit: 1kg/sq cm ≈ 0.98 bar, 1MPa = 10 bar.
This particular watch I will test to 3 bar = 3ATM = 30M
I use only distilled water to prevents mineral deposits building up in the tester.
Step 1: Fill the chamber with
Step 2: Hang the watch and close the lid tight
Step 3: Pressurize the chamber to the target pressure
Step 4: Wait 3 minutes and lower the watch in to the water
Step 5: Slowly release all air
Step 6: Look carefully to the bubbles
Hope you enjoy the video😊

Besides the bubbles rising to the surface of the water I still don’t understand what point do you take to know that water doesn’t get inside the Watch ? Thank you for sharing.
The bubbles are just air underneath the bezel. Important is no bubbles from crystal, crown or case back.
Thank you for watching ☺️
I would've been less nervous if you tested the case without the movement! 😁
No risk, no fun 🤗
@@MagicWatchmaking lol, fair enough! Sounds 😁
Can you measure divers up to 200m in this chamber?
With this chamber not! This can measure 60m maximum.
I'm assuming that the bubbles mean that the watch failed the test. Oh well - it is an old watch.
