As one who builds all my models with interiors, the reason that I build things that will never be seen is to immerse myself in the workings of these machines. The same as people who buy books that show interiors to get a glimpse of the workings of these. It takes a month to build a typical model and I get the most enjoyment of seeing the way these went together!
Been following your works on your blog for some time. Now watching these videos with the historical background, the reference photos, and your build process like a complementary extension of your body of work. Awesome to watch things unfold. Good use of the partial interior and cool to see how quickly you transition from building right into painting and then back to building.
Wow. What a nice comment, I really appreciate your perspective. The one nice thing about presenting my work in video form is that I think that it provides a little more opportunity to show the process as it unfolds - research, building, painting....and the back and forth. It is certainly not a linear process (at least for me).
Definitely feel you on the interior kits. The two longest stagnant armor kits on my shelf are both full interior. Hard to find the mojo when they will never be seen
Cool project Rick. Dak vehicles or any desert vehicle for that matter are one of my favorites to model so I 'm really interested to see what's next. I've heard that Dragon really dropped the ball on this particular Panzer 2... lot's of inaccuracies apparently.
Hey Scott. Well, I guess I'm not trying to make the "perfect" panzer II, so I can live with whatever inaccuracies there might be. You're correct, these DAK Subjects lend themselves to all sorts of possibilties. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Hey, I wouldn't miss it! I always like to see your work and follow what you're up to. I agree that sometimes it's just fun to go for it and not worry about getting things totally accurate. To be honest that's what holds a project up for me half the time.😀 KUTGW!
Hello Rick, I admire your research and historical part. This is where I have to improve at, research and knowledge! Looking forward for the following video. Cheers
Hi Aaron. I'm glad that you like the reference photo, it was a suggestion a few episodes ago and I'm glad to have embraced the idea. And YES! There will be a small scenic base and I have a couple of US guys from Alpine Miniatures on the way.
Just found your channel and I love it. I subscribed immediately lol. I got a question and I probably just didn't notice it at the begin on the box but who makes this kit.
Not a fan of interiors either. I built a 1/16 panzer 4 and I just did the turret interior and the area under and around the turret. Whatever can be seen thru the turret hatches. A buddy of mine did this captured panzer 2. Can't wait to see you paint it up.
Hey Kieth. Yes, I used the AK Brush for this project (or most of it!!). I have been using it for about 2 years and have no issues with it. The AK brush is .03 needle, and I switch back and forth between that and the Iwata HP-C Plus with .02 needle. Both great brushes.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda kewl thanks,I have 3 h&s's an evolution Cr plus , silverline and the aluminum .but and frustrated and tired of going to use the next day and the needle is stuck, and that's after a cleaning after use(not full break down just the usual flush out with thinners)

Good for you and I always admire those who do a great interior, I just don't seem to have the patience.
I do love seeing vehicle projects of machines captured by the Allies, there is so much opportunity for creative painting and weathering with them!
I agree. I think that this is going to be a fun ride. I just hope to do it justice!!!
Excellent video my friend some great reference pictures and really great work on the scratch building and interior thanks for sharing
Thank you too!
Thank you too!
now thats how research and builds are done....awesome work so far!
Thank you! I enjoy looking behind the curtain. Take care.

I feel you. I decided a long time ago that I enjoyed building models way too much to worry about the details that don't matter.
Great stuff Rick! I just started using the MJ miniatures tool clamps as well...definitely a sanity saver!
Yep, life-changing!!!! Thanks for watching.
Excellent work. Really looking forward to this.
Thank you, William.
Amazing work what you are making there, Rick, it's very original, I can't wait to see it painted
You and me both!

Great subject Rick!
Thanks, Markus! I hope that you are doing well.

Realy cool 🤘🏻👍🏻👏🏻🔥
Thanks for taking time to watch and reply!
Great video and love the photos for context. Are we going to get a diorama or figures out of this build based on the photos?!?!?

Great start, my man!
Thanks!
Another Great Video, Keep up the great work. Reilly like the intro to the kit gives the build a bit more life in my opinion.
Hey Grant. I was just notified by Patreon of your support....Thank You. Thanks for all of your support. Take Care.
I love DAK vehicles so am hyped to see what you do with this. I love the scratch built bits they look so good 🤩
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching and commenting.

This is the older (2007?) Cyber Hobby/Dragon kit. I'm glad that you found the channel and are enjoying it. Take care.

Kindered spirits on the interiors! I do hope it all turns out ok. Always a little unnerving working on something basically live! No hiding.
Nice work Rick!
Thanks!
Is that the ak airbrush and how do you like it

Nice project bro
Thanks, my friend!!!
Who's the manufacturer of this kit, please?
It's the Dragon, Cyber Hobby kit.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Thank you.
