Hello, awesome product!!! I have a Colorado 09 I don’t have the sides plastic on the bed, the tailgate just has it. Do you think it’ll be a problem when installing the clamp onto the bed. Thanks and great review!!!
Looking about and happy to see Yakima offers truck bed racks. Those HD cross bars looks massive. I would love to use my Yakima roof top box on that for extra cargo. However, highly doubt the Yakima shape crossbar attachment for fit the HD cross bar. Thoughts?
Hello. Yes, Yakima part number 8001634, these tracks allow you to mount the OutPost HD system to your Diamondback truck cover, compatible with Bed Track Kit 2. Contact our ecommerce team for details and pricing, 1-888-301-1527. Thanks!
You'll need the Yakima HD Bar - Large - 68 Inch - Set of 2, here's the link: www.rackoutfitters.com/yakima-hd-bar-large-68-inch-set-of-2/ ...and the OutPost: www.rackoutfitters.com/yakima-outpost-hd-truck-rack-towers-set-of-4/
Would I be able to mount my 77lb kayak on there and if I could what mounting options do I have? I wouldn't mind the J hook, but my kayak is 12 ft. long. Would it just be better for me to get the Yakima overhaul and just lower them all the way? I have a 2016 Gmc canyon crew cab short bed.
The OutPost is intended for loads that do not need to extend over the truck cab. We'd recommend the OverHaul and adjust the height to the best level for your truck and gear. The JayLow and JayHook are compatible with the OverHaul's HD bars.
Yakima has a suggested length on their actual website. The recommended cross bar would be a 60 inch for the Tacoma. You can use longer bars but they will stick out past the cab.
I love how you make it look so easy, tell the truth, it is not. Buyer beware, those holes he claims line up right do not you need to keep a shim between the plate in order to have the screw catch, if not you will just keep pushing the plate up. As for the crap measuring tape Yakima puts on the bottom, it is useless, oh and let's not forget those towers are not stable until you finally bolt on the bars, meaning you should have two people do this because you will end up running back and forth with the tape measure.
Hello. Sorry you had trouble. The video shows, without edits, the bar being attached to the upright, for others concerned about this step, here's that portion of the video to judge for yourself: ua-cam.com/video/j3O-xYYlQPE/v-deo.html Thanks!

Hello. The HD bars measure 3.00" x 1.50" and Yakima's most common cargo box hardware can fit bars up to 3.5" x 1.75". Thanks!
@@rackattack this is very helpful to know!
What size HD bars are the ones shown in the video?
This Colorado uses a 60-inch long HD Bar

In order to attach something on crossbar track, do you need to cut off (or take out) the rubber filler?
Remove the end cap then remove rubber slide in clip. The rubber will need to be trimmed up to the new accessory.
Would the 55” crossbar work on a Colorado?
We haven't the shorter bar. We installed what Yakima recommended which is the shortest bar possible.
What size HD bar would the Tacoma need?
