So helpful. My teacher doesn’t teach us, she literally never taught us what a colony even is. She just makes us research a bunch of stuff. I learned so much from this 👍
9:22 my family and I visited that plantation in the picture that has South Carolina on it. It was very educational there as they informed us about the owners and people who did labor there as slaves, also the house is very pretty in the inside!
So I've literally learned more watching the three videos of this series than I have my entire school career. I am in college. I'm taking History online right now and I feel like an idiot. You make me feel smarter and like I'm actually learning something. I'm going to have to watch all of your videos! Thank you so much!
Little kids need to stop complaining about the intro, as a 30 year old woman I can appreciate the intenional chringe. Very helpful when studying for the US history 1 CLEP. Thanks!
YOU ARE SO AWESOME MR.ZOLLER!!!!!! KEEP ON MAKING THESE VIDEOS! TELL YOUR CLASS I SAID HI! And anyone in Ms. C's class, like this video! MAke that little red space go away!
Thank you so much for theses videos! My teacher suggested these videos to my class, and we're all enjoying it. Your energy, and the way you explain things is excellent! Keep up the good work! ;)
4 facts I learned answers: Maryland was founded by lord Baltimore Virginia was founded by john smith The Carolinas where founded by A group of eight nobles for economic opportunities Georgia was founded for Economic opportunities and A defensive buffer
Ms. Nelson, My social studies teacher has us watch your 13 colonies podcast and the podcasts are awesome. I never heard of Thomas Hooker until a week ago and I live in CT. What I'm saying is that this videos are awesome
The South was Agricultural because of the longer growing season. Cash crops like tobacco, rice, cotton and indigo thrived in the warm climate. In the North they did not have the climate to grow these cash crops, so they were forced into to manufacturing things like furniture etc.
Lord Baltimore Calvert was my Great (x6) Grandfather. I am very proud to say that. They named Baltimore, Maryland after him. I'm thinking about making my own video about him our family. It is very interesting. To be honest I am only 3 minutes into the video but I was too excited to wait and comment. Haha. Ok, back to watching the video now.
Devon Henry 😂😂 Dying at the thought of a 16th/17th century Lord being notified that his great granddaughter refers to herself as “pudgemonkey007” on the Internet 😂😂 Thank you for replying to a comment I made 8 years ago. Legendary.
Greetings from Denmark, I have seen all 3 podcasts about the colonies, they are very nice and clean, only thing missing is the estimated year for each coloni. Thanks
Thanks for the great videos! I am homeschooling my two children and always looking for new ways to present the information. They have enjoyed everything of yours so far. Looking forward to the Asia lessons as we are currently living in Japan. :)
doesn't look like you answer questions, but I'll try anyway. You say the people of Mass began going into Conneticut under Hooker, does that mean that Conn never got it's own charter? And if that's so, does that mean the area was not officially recognized by the English?
Lord Baltimore? Wasn't he the Indian (Native American) tracker helping the Pinkertons or whoever came out of that train hunt down Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? One of my favorite movies ever. :) TY for these posts--I haven't studied American history for 35 years and forgot so much and never knew all of this...have been reading books and taking Yale course--thanks for the wonderful background!
Are you kidding? Lord Baltimore was an Englishman who was nobility, and because he was a friend of the king, he was able to get land for his fellow Catholics.
Great video but the first settlement in the Colonies was Roanoke Island. Yes, it was doomed, but it was first and settled before the Pilgrims even dreamed of coming to the New World.
All of us have to do this for school but you got admit that intro music though

Great video but the first settlement in the Colonies was Roanoke Island. Yes, it was doomed, but it was first and settled before the Pilgrims even dreamed of coming to the New World.
Umm what reason was Georgia considered a “buffer” for the other colonies from Spain anyone else have that question on there paper or...
HELP ME !!!!!!!
What software do you use to make the videos/podcasts? I would love to be as good at them as you are!
Bo Chamberlain i
For some reason, the intro song makes me think of the first live action garfeild movie
Haha actually ya it does
can u help me please with the chronological order of all the colonies I find many orders and I'm so confused cuz I need it so much in my studies
But I think Native American tribes didn't have a sense of land ownership, that was brought about with the Europeans.
