    Makes you wonder what has changed in the manufacturing process of the steel of this country. You used to be able to cut a small block Chevy out of a car that had hit the railing at 75 miles an hour with a torch and there would be absolutely nothing wrong with it.

    Damn sucks. But that’s gamble of trying to save money only to spend more again haha

    Salvage yards sell more engines from wrecked vehicles than any other part of the truck and all depends on where it was hit as to the possibility of that type of damage would have to be an accident that the truck rear ended someone or a direct impact to the crankshaft but totally understand what you’re talking about and love your videos

    I learned about fractured cranks the hard way.

    Especially if the front of crank was struck

    Chances is if you buy a remand engine from a parts store anywhere it's going to have been in an accident at one time or another

    Best engine I bought was out of a wrecked truck. Of course it didn’t hit anywhere in the front of the truck.

    i would venture to say most used engines that are no longer in the vehicle , have been in some sort of accident.

    Most time that stuff comes to an instant stop. You can buy them,just look at how it was wrecked.

    Accident is no the same to another accident. Crack engine from accident? Its no accident , its "total"

    Just run it unless she was seized after the wreck she'd do another 125k

    You have to use your brain when you're looking at an engine or a transmission in a wrecked vehicle.

    Even if the accident was farther back in the cab? Or even the bed? Like a t bone
    Im assuming this more than likely would be fine

      If the bellhousing is cracked or if the crank damper took an Impact I wouldn't touch the engine personally

    As long as it's under 100k power train warranty, you are set right?

    • @CUTTERUPROB

      Warranty you funny

    • @KarasCyborg
      @KarasCyborg 11 місяців тому

      @@CUTTERUPROB Are you saying that once a vehicle has been in a wreck --- even a fender bender -- that the warranty is null in void on the power train? If that were the case, insurance companies would be hit with total warranty loss diminished value for each wreck. This would make the at-fault party responsible to cover the costs of all repairs for the life left on the warranty.

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  11 місяців тому

      @@KarasCyborg if it was hit hard enough to crack the block on any vehicle. Very good chance it’s written off. Also the dealer would likely refuse a repair for a cracked block like that as it would be classed as abuse. I have spent more then my far share of time dealing with warranty and dealers

    • @KarasCyborg
      @KarasCyborg 11 місяців тому

      @@CUTTERUPROB I don't doubt you. It's a testimate to all the unseen things that could happen when you get into a wreck that an insurance company (your side or their side) are going to go out of their way to check in order to make sure you are adequately compensated. So why isn't there a pro-rate rebate from auto dealers if your vehicle doesn't survive the 36 / 60 /100k mile warranty? Shouldn't there be? They are off the hook and you paid for that when you purchased the vehicle.
