I'm accustomed to the GPW1000 (my fav watch of all time....) And so when I bought the new ltd edition GX56SS Street Spirit I believe?)...I was expecting a much larger watch. It wears really well for its size, and without all the tech and analogue systems of the GPW1000 it's VERY light. Lighter even than a stainless steel FW92.... And yes they aren't called that, but you all know the watch I mean. Very fashionable indeed right now..
Anyway... It's very comfy, the auto back light actually WORKs... So they got that bit of coding right at last ((it never used to be worth turning on, because if just came on all the time., killing the batts)..
Well I was very pleased with the overall design. Love the mud proof buttons, and the plastic surround at the back really makes a difference.
Anyone that turns their noses up at Casio being one of the greatest watchmakers on Earth, is insane or knows nothing about watches, except worshipping trade names that are owned by Swatch (when Casio and the Japanese guys put swiss watchmaking out to pasture in the late 70s. Now they rely upon people paying top top dollar for handmade pieces, which hey...I appreciate too. I have aSpeedmaster...aSeamaster Cosmic (but these now.... They can be had in perfect condition, without complications mind...day/date for ltd than 400gbp. They are superb too. I even have a wishlist that I'm trading up to. Buying non working early digitals.. Making them work (mostly a battery is all that's needed)... And turning 2.50 into 60 quid . Several more speedmaster on the list...Rolex MilGauss....Rolex AirKing....
Ah I don't bore you... The point is, that a lovely as these watches by Swatches group ARE...(I like Christopher Ward too...not owned by Swatch)... Actually none of these multi 1000 GBP watches can come close to a 150 GBP Casio... Hell not even a 15 GBP one. They are more accurate, more sturdy... Many are even more stylish.
Swiss watchmaking survives though. Someone makes a million quid, they buy a Rolex Oyster day/date, and think they got something special. Rolex don't tell. . But I'm led to believe 10,000 Oyster day/dates leave the factory every month. They are clever though, and will put you on a waiting list! That's business, good luck to them. However if you ARE wanting aRolex.... At least get a really rare one. 70s MilGauss or AirKing will do the job (make sure it's been serviced) OR..... See what£5000 doesn't at Casio will get you..... And it won't be something they make a million of. Maybe 1000 max... And in every measurable way, side that magic name, the Casio will be better.

I see a lot of hype in the watch world people think that just because it's Swiss made or its a 1000doller watch it's something great in the Matrix it's all hype citizens Invicta Tag Heuer Exedra exedra but the GX56-1BB it's a tall black with the negative screen not atomic for 104.00on amazon.com is an EMP proof watch magnetic resistant watch that's a watch so I got one . In I already have the rangeman that first one but I like the GX more . So if you want a good Soldier watch get the GX all black with a negative screen non atomic solar powered G-Shock 104.00 amazon.com save your money people don't buy those 1000doller watchs
After all these years buying Mudman, Riseman, Frogman, 9 different Mudmasters, 4 Rangeman 2 old ones and 2 new ones, and several regular G´s, i´ve come to the conclusion that the GX56 "King" is the watch to have. I just bought the all black one and want another. Doesn´t have all those sensors, but who uses them anyway ? The GX56 has everything we need in a watch.
