Firing a missile backwards?

Backwards fired missiles have like no tracking but they still scare the hell out of me when I dont expect them

Try being too close to their tale and they do it on Ace difficulty. Ruined multiple runs of mine.

@@TheRealTrigger2007 As far as I remember they don't track at all, or the tracking is extremely poor compared to forward fired missiles, but yeah that doesn't matter at near point blank range

@@RookFox They do turn like 90° most of the time of what i was seeing before my ps2 disc got shot to death 4 years ago. when you're like under their plane or above it at point blank range then you're dead on Ace difficulty. Or your no damage challenge is ruined.

@@TheRealTrigger2007 That's cool, kinda sounds like they come out angled at the player but I've kept my distance ever since the first time I got shot by them, so I've never been shot while being above or below as far as I remember.

Somehow these missiles never lock on to the player, they always goes straight. I think I heard that some Sukhoi fighters have rear mounted radars, just surprised people in the comments never heard of them.

Reason: Because the missile knows where you are because it knows where you aren't. And by subtracting where it isn't from where it is, or where it is from where it isn't (whichever is greater) we obtain belkan witchcraft..

the soviets may or may not have experimented with backwards firing missiles at some point, but information on the subject seems scarce, and there wasnt really any practical use for them

I don't think Mobius fires backwards (or I have never seen that), but does fire at a 90 degrees angle
