Left Ontario and moved to Calgary on May, I should have done this move long time ago. The city is amazing and way cheaper and nicer than many cities in Ontario. Love it and never back!
I just want to clarify something you said about sunshine in Calgary…it’s not that the sun is really hotter, it’s that at our higher elevation the UV rays are more intense. Also, as the sunniest place in Canada (I think) we get more hours of sunshine on a yearly basis. So even though you might be freezing your a** off at -30 C, it’s very possible the sun will be shining brightly.
Nicely done!, you have given good details about living in Calgary like people and weather. However, when you say it's cheaper, then also note that the average salaries in Calgary are also lower than in Toronto or Vancouver. It's just like you earning less in CAD in India but able to afford similar amenities like housing and clothing as you would in any developed country while earning in CAD. So if the houses are cheaper it will take you same amount of time to be able to afford that house as much it would take you in Toronto.
