plz don't suggest anyone to use public wifi. It's toooooooooooo bad to use it. An encryption-free connection allows hackers to monitor all file sharing and traffic that is sent between the user and server on a public wi-fi network
That's why you should use a VPN. Masks your location via alternate servers and may encrypt as well, depending on the plan you have. Makes you MUCH more secure. Sort of surprised that everyone isn't already aware of this.
As a single person in Edmonton, monthly rent for 1Br is $1700, groceries $600, no car, cell phone $75, Internet $80. If you don't have a job that pays at least $70,000/yr (gross income), you are struggling, you'll need more if you need/have a car. This is for single person, not in a relationship.

Your videos could not have come at a better time, as we are moving to Calgary from Toronto in a couple of months. I am actively looking for 1-2 bedroom apartments.... (though the downtown core makes more sense... still unsure which area). Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Nice comparison ! However I differ from your views, the focus should be on income and not expenditure. To do a proper analysis you should also compare the jobs and wages in calgary and Toronto/Vancouver. Yes, there’s a mad rush in these cities and there’s a reason for it. The total difference won’t be more than 20-25% monthly and the same goes in earnings. Alberta is good for investment but not for living
In Toronto, iptv cost is also $10 per month. Car insurance is very costly in Calgary. In Toronto is to pay $125 and here I got a quote for full coverage as $260 and $170 for third party, reason for higher car insurance is hailstorm.
So I assume from all you've said that you ARE saving money, albeit not very much. I see that you are living with some luxury items like a smart phone, and larger vehicle. Also, living downtown will add to the cost of rent as opposed to living further away. I guess it's a choice one makes whether to economize a little or a lot.
Just so you know we have one of the lowest minimum wages in the country so buckle up to work hard if you plan on moving here, and good luck finding anything to buy or rent it's almost impossible right now. We see working people who are actually homeless
