I’m glad to see a child actor embrace the way people see him, and not be bitter and cold to the fans who still see him that way. So many of the actors who had roles in TV shows, try so hard to push the that part away, and berate fans for admiring them for the part they played in their younger years. Good on ya Frankie. Your a real one,
Right? As an entertainer, to get mad at people for appreciating something you did that greatly impacted their childhood... just seems so conceited, and douchey.
WOW,.. Frankie concentrated so heavily on filming his own parts that he never ended up watching the rest of the show. He has NO IDEA that Malcolm In The Middle is the best show ever made. It was my favourite when it was screened, and it was my favourite 20 years later when i watched it with my kids (who insist on re-watching over and over!) Watch it when your kid gets older Frankie,... you'll be blown away by how well written/performed it is.
Imagine you're really good at sex, would you want to watch yourself having sex? It's the same way with movies, the actors who are fans of their own films can be pretty creepy.
I understand what he means when he says hes done so much shit he cant remember everything im the same, ive done so much I cant remember every single moment only the really really important ones
Same I thought I was going crazy cause it's getting harder to remember my past like I used to. Unless I really focus but even then it seems to have more of a dream like effect
@@daviddelacruz7496 your missing my point on empathy and people using weed as a scapegoat comes from bad faith, but your also providing another critique. All we know about Frankie is during his childhood. Because of that we hold some bias expectations of him to share those memories with us.
People having the entirely wrong story and thinking thinking that hes dying of seizures seems like the most Malcolm in the middle Thing that could happen to him
Yea the memory stuff he’s describing sounds kinda normal tbh. If you were working at a deli 20 years ago would you remember many of the individual sandwiches you made? That’s all those episodes were to him, the only difference is that all of it was filmed. It’s be weird if he did remember some random scene he did 20 years ago
Got to meet Frankie in like 2012 when my band opened for his band's tour in Douglasville,Ga. When he talked about himself being rather 'shy' and 'not hollywood' he wasnt kidding. Very chill guy who obviously doesn't want hella attention and just talks to you like you'd meet any other band guy you're playing a show with.
Used to love watching Malcolm in the Middle as a kid but it’s 10x better watching it now as an adult. It’s a masterpiece. The cast are phenomenal and the writers are geniuses!
there is so much stuff I loved in the early 2000s and watching it now, most of it did age badly. But my appreciation for Malcom in the Middle legit grew watching it again recently
It so good to see Frankie Muniz here like this, he is so himself and vibrant! When I read that article I was heartbroken, glad to see he's living happily!
I'm so glad he's actually ok, Malcolm in the middle was a huge part of my childhood and life, and as human being it was bittersweet to rewatch the show sometimes because of what I heard.
I remember reading about him having tia and because I have the same type of migraines I was like I wonder if that's what he has. I'm am glad that's what it actually was.
I kind of feel the world has Gaslighted him into thinking his memory is worse than he thinks it is since how he describes it here, his memory isn’t any worse than your average person
Yeah, I can't tell you most things in my life unless something randomly jogs my memory. I think thats the normal. Who needs to recall June 5th 1997, 4pm on demand?
Well, it does sound like he remembers much less than the average person. But that might simply make sense, considering he was pretty young at the time and his mind couldn't afford to remember most of it. It needed to focus on being a kid. Now, in my case, I remember almost nothing of my entire life, not even things from just a year ago. So that might be something bad that could turn into a degenerative disease, or maybe it already is. It's possible that Frankie has something like that too, if he can't remember a lot of what happens in his adult life.
It’s like remembering the third grade for a normal person. We all know we went to third grade, but we don’t remember every little detail of being in third grade.
I’m glad all of you are still in touch with who you really are. What a down to earth group of people. I absolutely loved this and glad Frankie is doing good and healthy!!
I met Frankie when he was drumming in Kingsfoil maybe 8 or 9 years ago down in Douglasville, Georgia at the 7 venue and he was one of the most humble celebrities I've met. The band I was in at the time ended up sublining them. Cool to see him doing well, always thought those rumors were kind of bogus given how cognitive and well spoken he was when I met him.
I met steve o at 8:33:23 pm on october 3rd 2009 at the venetian hotel (3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109) and he was pretty cool I guess kind of scary ngl
God, hearing and seeing the excitement of him just being able to talk and have a normal conversation is really heartwarming. I'm sure it was an awesome experience on all accounts!
Part 2 please! Bring him back!! I would love to hear more! He’s so interesting. I’ve rewatched Malcolm in the middle ATLEAST 5x . Can never get bored of it
Malcolm is such an unappreciated sitcom. Going back as an adult and rewatching it was so good. The writing was phenomenal, the acting was amazing and it just felt real. I remember wanting to be like Frankie as a child. Agent Cody Banks, Big Fat Liar and Malcolm, it’s nice to see a child actor be successful as an adult for once.
they hit the sweet spot as a family that's a little crazy, but not too crazy. ridiculous and real. i feel like everyone's family is a little nutty, which is why it was so relatable.
almost every episode Literally didn't really like the end one when the mom Lois, freaked out and told Malcolm he was gonna be president. lol Like I never looked at Malcolm that way lol
Finding out how Frankie has been doing is something I've needed for a long time. Most people thought he went crazy with the memory loss rumour. I just wanna know what made him wanna be a Nascar Driver._.
Now I will not advocate for speeding down a highway at 130 mph do not do that. But one day go to a track event. Get in a car and go 145 150 mph for the first time in your life in a safeish inviroment and then tell me that was not the best drug you ever had in your life. Shit even going 60 in a funny car on a dirt track is one of the absolute best times ever!!!
The way Frankie talks about just living in the moment and having the “bad memory” is exactly how i feel, i just dont know how to deal with it or think about it 😂
Wow, it's rare when you get to feel really good about being really wrong. I loved the show and am so happy that he's got a reasonably normal, stable life.
You weren’t all that wrong. He’s lying here. I remember once that he admitted on tv that his wife has to keep a diary scrapbook for him showcasing their vacations and she has to explain the stories because he doesn’t even remember going to them. His long term memory is far worse than he’s playing off here
@@TheKing-qn9uc No, he's not. He explains that at 8:44. It's just the same situation as anyone keeping a journal. You remember things better when you record them in a journal and then go back and read it.

Best pilot I’ve ever watched in my life. Makes me so sad how much time has gone by. I was a latchkey kid without cable watching this on the WB. Miss those days so much.
Growing up in the early 2000s and watching Malcom in the middle with my family before bed was the icing on the cake. Even if Frankie doesn't remember very much, we will never forget.
So good to hear Frankie's doing good and got a solid life together! Too many child stars end up going off the deep end its really sad to see these kids that you grew up with and idolizing turning into something they regret.
As a kid not having cable TV Malcolm in the middle was quality entertainment. I have many memories watching this show with my siblings. I would be transported into the shows world because the family was very relatable for regular people. We even had some of the same items in the shows house.
We all know people like on the show or have people in our own families like on the show. That's why it was such a big hit it nailed the average family relatable aspect perfect. We don't need supermodel women and action hero type men on a show to want to watch it. Just like with Rosanne when the characters are relatable it often is more successful show over star power and good looks. Malcom in the middle cast were mostly no name actors before the show.
How have I JUST found this?! So glad you interviewed Frankie! I feel like he fell off the face of the planet after years of seeing him everywhere on screen. Great podcast!

It’s crazy how time works for us. When you start a new thing, like a school year or a job, every day seems very long and you remember what you’ve done. As time goes by doing the same thing the days almost seem to blend together to where your 2nd year seems like it went by as fast as your 1st month. I can totally understand how doing the same show for a decade you could forget a lot of specifics. It’s like we measure time by accomplishments sometimes, the more you believe you’re doing the more you remember and the time feels well spent.

Recently rewatched Malcom in the Middle. Still holds up. That show was ahead of its time.

The Father, As An Actor, Was Ahead Of His Time .
I’m glad to see a child actor embrace the way people see him, and not be bitter and cold to the fans who still see him that way. So many of the actors who had roles in TV shows, try so hard to push the that part away, and berate fans for admiring them for the part they played in their younger years. Good on ya Frankie. Your a real one,
Well said. I really hope Frankie gets his memory back though. Lol
I see him as both Malcom and Agent Cody Banks
What actors are you talking about?
Right?
As an entertainer, to get mad at people for appreciating something you did that greatly impacted their childhood... just seems so conceited, and douchey.
@@robert9595 we’re looking at you Harrison Ford
WOW,.. Frankie concentrated so heavily on filming his own parts that he never ended up watching the rest of the show.
He has NO IDEA that Malcolm In The Middle is the best show ever made.
It was my favourite when it was screened, and it was my favourite 20 years later when i watched it with my kids (who insist on re-watching over and over!)
Watch it when your kid gets older Frankie,... you'll be blown away by how well written/performed it is.
Rollerskating scene with Funky Town playing is 🔥 the full show is immense
He days in the clip that he watched it with his wife years ago on a streaming service.
Imagine you're really good at sex, would you want to watch yourself having sex? It's the same way with movies, the actors who are fans of their own films can be pretty creepy.
I feel Frankie. How many of us can remember our child hood? I recall moments, but by no way do I recall a lot of shit.
Yeag we all be on tv n I also smoke weed
@@daviddelacruz7496 your missing my point on empathy and people using weed as a scapegoat comes from bad faith, but your also providing another critique. All we know about Frankie is during his childhood. Because of that we hold some bias expectations of him to share those memories with us.
@@edgaribarria quit calling him Frankie it’s malcolm I think my memory is great
Fucking hilarious how misconstrued his 'memory loss' was. Nice to see him and Steve-O are both happy and doing well
People having the entirely wrong story and thinking thinking that hes dying of seizures seems like the most Malcolm in the middle Thing that could happen to him
yeah now that you say that, it does.
It definitely does lol
Just makes sense 🤣
Kind of reminds me of the tonsil episode, where he is trying to explain that he doesn't need surgery, but the medical staff won't listen.

Just rewatched all 7 seasons as an adult and a parent.
Watching it this time round has been so relatable🤣🤣
there is so much stuff I loved in the early 2000s and watching it now, most of it did age badly.

@@LovelyGemini246 same here I get migraines that change my mood (not just from pain but actual mood changes) and cause visual artifacts.
I kind of feel the world has Gaslighted him into thinking his memory is worse than he thinks it is since how he describes it here, his memory isn’t any worse than your average person
Agreed. I think it’s a narrative people want to believe.
Doing it for attention. Weird guy

I watched Malcolm over again in college with my friends and really brought a bigger appreciation to how great that show was.

I remember wanting to be like Frankie as a child. Agent Cody Banks, Big Fat Liar and Malcolm, it’s nice to see a child actor be successful as an adult for once.

As a kid not having cable TV Malcolm in the middle was quality entertainment. I have many memories watching this show with my siblings. I would be transported into the shows world because the family was very relatable for regular people. We even had some of the same items in the shows house.
Lois is just like my mom
We all know people like on the show or have people in our own families like on the show. That's why it was such a big hit it nailed the average family relatable aspect perfect. We don't need supermodel women and action hero type men on a show to want to watch it. Just like with Rosanne when the characters are relatable it often is more successful show over star power and good looks. Malcom in the middle cast were mostly no name actors before the show.
