A great concept, but one that produced an unexpected result. “When the music went on, the pigs all took a massive shit at the same time,” Osbourne recalls. “Because it was so fucking loud in there. Black Sabbath was no doubt "popular" in the 70's, but they were pretty "underground"...they didn't have MTV until '81, FM rock radio stations played them only on Friday and Saturday nights by request. They were dogged by mainstream folks a lot as "devil worshipper music", which really wasn't the case...a lot of people knew of Ozzy Osbourne before Black Sabbath like in 1982...when he bit the head off the bat. So, it's not unusual to think of Ozzy Osbourne as more of 80's and onward than 70's era (even though he's 70's era too and the whole decade).

Just… even with all the different kinds of metal bands who came after him, and the style of their respective frontmen, I’ve still never seen anyone who can look and sound as downright *sinister* as Ozzy Osbourne. And most of us have seen that he’s actually a sort of goofy dad-type in reality, but that’s just how much of a performer he is. Artistry and showmanship were clearly in this man’s DNA. I’m so glad I got to grow up in a time where he was making music.
@@peterwinters8587Ozzy has dyslexia and ADHD, likely also autistic! Stop being ableist and check your ableism! Disabled people like me and him don’t deserve your s and we shouldn’t tolerate or put up with it ! Stop discriminating against and disrespecting Ozzy because of his disabilities ! Ozzy is a special and beautiful person and he should be treated as such! I’m a huge disability advocate, so you better watch out . I’m also mentally and physically disabled!
I still remember the first time I heard this song and thinking how HUGE the guitar tone was and how cool the riff and the solo were cause it was incredible. Zack definitely made a splash on the guitar scene.
Ozzy re-invents himself. That is a superpower. This iteration was potent! I remember an interview with Zakk and he said he looked over and he sees Ozzy and Geezer and had to pinch himself. Rest in peace Randy.
It wasn't just Jimmy Swaggart. It was also Jim Baker. Which is why the term "Jimmy Sinner" was used. I always enjoyed watching the glee that Ozzy and crew displayed in this video. You can tell they were loving every minute of it.
Well, Ozzy didn't write the lyrics to any of them. Randy certainly wrote some lyrics, and Jake as well, but Ozzy did not write a single lyric on Diary, Blizzard, Bark, Sin or Wicked. You claimed Ozzy wrote the lyrics. You do some fact checking. Ozzy owes his career to Bob Daisley as much as to Sharon.
Paul Cashmere: So Bob, which songs did you write the lyrics for? Bob Daisley: Pretty much all of them really from the Blizzard of Oz album (the very first one), Diary of a Madman, Bark At The Moon, The Ultimate Sin, No Rest for the Wicked and the last album I played on was No More Tears but I didn't write anything on that. PC: That body of work has a fair chunk of OZZY signature tunes. BD: OZZY is actually quoted in interviews of saying "when I wrote this" and "when I wrote that" and "what I meant here" but he didn't write of the lyrics, so it is a bit of a blatant inaccuracy for him to say that. PC: How come you weren't originally credited? BD: When the songs were written we just put the songs down to not to specifics as to who had done what. Most of the vocal melodies are OZZY's, although some of the vocal melodies on Diary of a Madman were Lee Kerslake, the drummer. Randy Rhoads was the riff merchant who came up with the basic riffs, although having said that, Randy and I worked on the musical side of it together to create the finished song. A lot of the music is mine as well. All the lyrics are mine. OZZY had a couple of ideas, like for a song title or he'd say "I want this song about this" or whatever but a lot of the songs are completely mine including title and what the song is about, the storyline or whatever.
For the longest time Heavy Metal in general and Ozzy in particular were always demonized by so many. Chief among them were so-called religious figures like Swaggart . Those of us who love the music were considered devil worshippers. In essense this song was saying: Look who's calling who evil. Preach on brother Ozzy.
No...the solo and riff sound great because the solo and riff ARE great. The solo to Mr. Crowley is D minor pentatonic and Miracle Man is in F#...Technically, Crazy Train is the same key as Miracle Man...
I love how crazy ozzy is. Just expressing himself exactly how he likes. Like when he jumps like a frog on stage or throws buckets of water at people. Awesome showmanship. So much respect.
"Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen." Did you pray this prayer?
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
I saw the 89 concert in Moscow and saw Geezer and was blown away because I didnt know he had joined up with Ozzy solo. And now I see this video and I'm excited to look at the album. Great lineup, Oz, Geez, Zakk, and Randy Castillo!
yah, true word ryanexus. On criterias of technicality and diversity along with original creativity both Jake E. Lee and Randy Rhoads were on the top of the game (some like myself prefer Jake's tone though) - more so than Zakk but mostly none of the songs and Ozzy-brand would be even half of the exellence it is without the master songwriter Bob Daisley. Ozzy is and always was the master of cenemonies but not the creative force, so maybe because of jealousy of talent (?)(and pure greed) the diamonds that made the brand are in worst cases even hidden from the credits.
This was Zakk's intro to the fans. Such a bad ass video and performance. It's hard to recall now how heavy this was after the previous two albums. No Rest for the Wicked still my favorite.
Might be Ozzy's best song to be completely honest. It rocks so heavy and hard, and its message is clear and so satisfying. Zakk is great here and Ozzy looks and sounds as though as if he's loving it...probably cause he is. Swaggert was a hypocritical crook who deserved this song. All that just makes it so much better. It's a shame nobody plays this on the radio...it should get the same airplay as "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "Crazy Train".
DavidRagen3134, swaggart still IS a scumbag; here recently, he's been part of a group of shady-as-fuck scumbags selling survival rations for the apocalypse, at ungodly prices to old people who don't know any better.
Old comment, but I would just like to note that I actually discovered this song through the radio, and have heard it several times since then on the same station. So at least one DJ appreciates this song.
I remember when you put this out like it was yesterday. One thing i always loved about you is the way you would compose music about real life, people and events. i've been a fan for the past 25 years. I love you Oz. You've inspired me on so many levels. No Rest for the wicked i believe is one of your best.... The Ultimate Sin has never gotten the recognition it deserves, That too is one of my favorites. Secret Loser is one of my Top Ten Oz Songs but it never gets air time. Whats up with that? I hear you're re-vamping a reality show... hows that going? Anyway... all this from a faithful listener. Love you Oz.
@KIEFER NEALY i understand your logic, does not mean i agree with it. Ozzy and Tony equal "all of black sabbath". bla bla bla, but im talking about actuality, since all sabbath songs are credited to all 4 of them, even if tony was the riff meister, and Geezer wrote all they lyrics, not Ozzy. so technically Ozzy is zero black sabbath according to you.
My mom used to make me watch Jimmy Swaggart. Ozzy saved the day. Thanks Ozzy. You’re a savior!

Ozzies laugh changed, all these videos are fucking haunted! Thumbs up!
何が凄いってこのギターソロ。
なんてシンプル、なんてカッコいいんだっ!
Zack is just a beast on the guitar!!
54 and I still say could not start the video any better than that Excellent! I still am learning what Ozzy was telling us was true. God bless Ozzy
Does anyone else think Ozzy is having fun with this clip?
I doubt he even remembers it lol.
I would have fun mocking the hypocritical televangelists who commit actual crimes. I'd also wear a Jail Swaggart T-Shirt.
No he was crying the entire time

Crying??
@@nickhill8612 Stop it xd
I love this song and album, I love the intro with him laughing and throwing off the mask to Zacks power riff
ZAKK*
I love this song but I can't get into the album. I think it's Ozzy's weakest solo album.
Zakk before Odin's blessing

I luv the mocking laugh at the beginning
Youg Zack is killing it!
This is such a masterpiece, absolutely amazing in every aspect I don't know what else to say
Rappers: Our Diss track is the greatest diss track of all time.

Zaak's tone is the heaviest ever, hits like an Alaska size asteroid slamming into the 🌎......
Dude...Ozzy will reign high today, tomorrow, and for the rest of time. What a legend.
“A devil with a crucifix, brimstone and fire.” Powerful lyrics. Ozzy is an all time great song writer
Ozzy couldn't write his name. Check your facts
He actually didn't write many lyrics, Geezer wrote most of Sabbaths lyrics & I bet Geezer wrote these also?
@@peterwinters8587Ozzy has dyslexia and ADHD, likely also autistic! Stop being ableist and check your ableism! Disabled people like me and him don’t deserve your s and we shouldn’t tolerate or put up with it ! Stop discriminating against and disrespecting Ozzy because of his disabilities ! Ozzy is a special and beautiful person and he should be treated as such! I’m a huge disability advocate, so you better watch out . I’m also mentally and physically disabled!
@@BGP_8666 Bob Daisley probably, I think he wrote lyrics for him up to No more tears (that had other co-writers as well)
RIP Randy Castillo 🤘🏻
The opening is so sick! Ozzy with his arms open and that guitar is just complete magic
I forgot how fucking heavy this sounds, even coming from the era it did. This stands next to anything he's done since then.
Ozzy for life man
HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY OZZY!!!
Dec 3rd
Celebrating 30 years of that famous Jimmy Swagger sermon of him saying "for I have sinned"
Seriously one of the best music videos in metal
History
Agreed... Swaggert and a gang load of swine was beautiful! Hahahaa
Ozzy, Zak Wylde, Geezer Butler, Randy Castillo........AWESOME!!
Ozzy...hands down has the best guitar players......Randy and Zakk....UNTOUCHABLE
Que puedo decir, tengo 50 y vivi la epoca de oro del metal,los80!!!!Ozzy Dios te siga dando mas años!!!!
Ozzy no le tiene miedo a la muerte la muerte le teme a Ozzy
Ozzy= The most bad ass, awesome, man alive. Metal forever.
Geezer is really pumping that Bass. And Zack W is kicking ass on that solo. He very close to Randy Rhoads. They are both fast.
Two totally different musicians!
Ozzy's lyrics are always so on the point.
as with every song from 1981 to 1988, those are bob daisley's lyrics
He did not write every song. Go fact check.
OZZY had a couple of ideas, like for a song title or he'd say "I want this song about this" or whatever but a lot of the songs are completely mine including title and what the song is about, the storyline or whatever.
fuck bob
Ozzy's been droppin diss tracks before it was cool
The ultimate shade...Ozzy laughing at Jimmy at the beginning hahaha
Haha nice idea 😂🤘
From the beginning
I disagree...
"Jimmy he got busted...with his pants down."
Naw every one is human
For the longest time Heavy Metal in general and Ozzy in particular were always demonized by so many. Chief among them were so-called religious figures like Swaggart . Those of us who love the music were considered devil worshippers. In essense this song was saying: Look who's calling who evil. Preach on brother Ozzy.
Totally. Rock on jstube36.
jstube36
Which is why I relished Jimmy Swaggart getting busted with prostitutes not once, but twice!
jstube36 Remember when tipper gore had an axe to grind against heavymetal Pardon the pun But Metal Lives
If anything, Swaggart was the real sinner. XD
Mach68 exactly. ozzy never lied about his lifestyle
I think this is Ozzy's most underrated and underappreciated song ever
I forgot how bad ass Ozzy can be and how hard he rocked. Damn. Ozzy, Zakk, and Geezer bringing it!
the solo and riff by Zakk is killer guitar work which made this song a hit
the reason the solo sounds so great is because its using almost the same scale as randy did in mr crowley
No...the solo and riff sound great because the solo and riff ARE great. The solo to Mr. Crowley is D minor pentatonic and Miracle Man is in F#...Technically, Crazy Train is the same key as Miracle Man...
solo is the europe - final countdown :)
miracle man is in F
Rodrigo Rivera
I love how crazy ozzy is. Just expressing himself exactly how he likes. Like when he jumps like a frog on stage or throws buckets of water at people. Awesome showmanship. So much respect.
I love watching Geezer with Ozzy's solo band. Dude can do sludgey Sabbath and shred the bass like the best of em in this area of the genre
Amen."
Did you pray this prayer?
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
When is God gonna end this suffering 😢 Jesus was here 3000 years ago promising to end it ...why the wait ??
Pure energy, genuine rock ! thanks to Ozzy!!

Geezer Butler is the best!
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this
NO one is like OZZY
A true original
I saw the 89 concert in Moscow and saw Geezer and was blown away because I didnt know he had joined up with Ozzy solo. And now I see this video and I'm excited to look at the album. Great lineup, Oz, Geez, Zakk, and Randy Castillo!
I love Ozzy - always have, always will.
Zakk got his own style of playing and he is fucking amazing, thanks to Zakk, all of Ozzy's album's were great hits.. and of course Ozzy himself!
yah, true word ryanexus.
1:58 MAGIC💖👏👏👏
If I’ve said once, I’ll say it again. Out of all of Ozzy’s guitarists, Randy and Zakk are my two absolute favorites
This was Zakk's intro to the fans. Such a bad ass video and performance. It's hard to recall now how heavy this was after the previous two albums. No Rest for the Wicked still my favorite.
A Masterpiece
I LOVE OZZY HE IS AWESOME AND AWESOME SINGER.
2019. And here I am. Stuck in a time warp. Good god what a riff.
What a killing song, the church, the guitar riff, and Ozzy unchained! Too much!
Zakk totally shreds on this song. Love this jam!
OZZY OSBOURNE FOREVER! LONG LIVE OZZY OSBOURNE!
ozzy kicked ass during every decade ...I love these old school videos..brings back high school memories
I agree with you. I rarely hear this on the radio. I downloaded it. One of my favorite Ozzie songs.
DavidRagen3134, swaggart still IS a scumbag; here recently, he's been part of a group of shady-as-fuck scumbags selling survival rations for the apocalypse, at ungodly prices to old people who don't know any better.
i also love "Demon Alcohol" from this album
Ozzy must have gotten some personal satisfaction given the level of slander Jimmy threw at him.
Old comment, but I would just like to note that I actually discovered this song through the radio, and have heard it several times since then on the same station. So at least one DJ appreciates this song.
GOT BUSTED!!!!
Okay, I think this is the peak of his lunacy. Meeting him is top of my bucket list!
Love you Oz.
what is cool, is that this is half of black sabbath :)
edwads74 yep
@KIEFER NEALY i understand your logic, does not mean i agree with it. Ozzy and Tony equal "all of black sabbath". bla bla bla, but im talking about actuality, since all sabbath songs are credited to all 4 of them, even if tony was the riff meister, and Geezer wrote all they lyrics, not Ozzy. so technically Ozzy is zero black sabbath according to you.
@KIEFER NEALY Yeah but Geezer wrote most of their songs
