Hello Pirates! :D So much fun to watch your videos backwards (in time). :D Back to the Little Red Camper! Aye! This is going to be another great adventure, I am sure! :) bear hugs, Kata
Thanks for sharing your journey. Your photos are great as are the videos, and I think I might buy that 360 degree camera if I get to do a trip from Sydney to the other side of Australia where I live, in Perth, in an electric van about the size of yours, the BYD T3, if it all comes together.
Beware 360 deg cameras are more work when it comes to editing the video. I gave up using mine because of that and also because it struggled with correct exposure between in the van and outside 👍
Is the camera for sale? :D On second thought, Australian desert sun outside and shady interior would require enormous dynamic range, so maybe not. Thanks for the heads-up. Still, the shots you use look great. I love the panning in post :)
I have tried quite a few cameras and I have come to the conclusion that a DJI Osmo Action is the best Action Camera (what we use the most in & out of the van), Rode wireless 2 go mics, a compact zoom (on a small tripod for if you need to bring a subject closer) and of course a DJI Mini 2 drone to place you in the landscape. Have stuff that can all be charged using USB sockets and it works well. 360 are fun for a few minutes then too much work as you have to process the files before you can edit them.
The DJI Mini is on my wish list. I have a few cameras including a gopro 9 and my phone. A hand gimbal would be great for walking shots - as you do. Mounts for inside tbe car are my next project. Tripod and string tie-downs is clumsy. Adhesive windscreen mount looks good. I'm thinking of doing a time lapse of the whole 4000km trip, probably fade through black for the monotonous bits (about half). I got the email yesterday saying theyll let me pick up the van in Sydney so the dream is now a plan, for February, SARS CoV 2 permitting. :)
California here my wife and I just started watching you videos but starting from the very beginning. My wife(Sharon) is still wondering what the bed set up. Which one of your videos shows that? And am wonder(julio) what about showers? Is there a video on that? Might be a personal question but we’re thinking of doing the same thing you guys are doing and we’re not to keen on having a shower and toilet because we want to keep small.
